You can make it with VG but the problem with it is that it's not as strong as alcohol extraction, when you dissolve cannabinoids into VG the potency is only 1/3 max of what alcohol's is. There are a handful of premade PEG blends available online (EJMix, Puff Magic, etc) that you mix with hash oil and it works in tanks/drippers. I hear it tastes weird and can be a bit harsh on the throat though so that's something to consider. Maybe you could mix some of the PEG blend with hash oil and use as little PEG as possible to keep it potent, and then some VG into that. An online friend of mine posted about using this special CO2 hash oil that uses terpenes to thin the hash oil out enough to feed properly through a Subtank so that's possible though you'd have to buy/obtain your own terpenes for that lol.

>I also question if sub-ohm vaping would make this impossible, because I'm not sure if the coils would get hot enough to degrade the THC.

Not at all, why would it be an issue? The coils don't get that hot, they reach the temperature at which juice vaporizes at and stop there, otherwise even with a wet wick the coil would just burn through the cotton. My temp controlled build I use at 500f which is higher than cotton's ignition temperature yet it never burns it.

Like the post above suggests, you can use a pre-mix like EJ, and use a concentrate to dissolve in it. However, I use a method that may be a bit less efficient, the dis-advantage is, it has to be done on an RDA/dripper, won't work in a tank. If you can afford dabs, you take an RDA with a build in it, freshly wicked, and some juice soaked into the wick (preferably 0mg, or 3mg, due to throat hit combined with the dabs being really harsh). I'll typically take some hits till the wick is getting dry again, then put a small glob of the dabsicles on each of your coils, and then pulse the fire button with the top cap off, to slowly heat and melt it into the coil/wick. Then put some eliquid on top, pop on the top cap, and it's ready to rip, great for someone who's on the go. The first 4 hits are strong, and if you push yourself, you may gag enough to puke, so take it easy until you get a feel for it. Now, after doing this several times, there'll be a considerable amount in the wick, and you can just re-juice it and still get some nice hits, also there'll be some reclaim on the inside of the top cap you can scrape off and re-vape. Good Luck!

I haven't made that jump, but I believe I and others would love to hear stories of those who have.
I have had short term success and I love vape culture but that combustion demon always get me lighting instead of vaporizing.

I also didn't feel the same shittyness as smoking - vaping is misleading in that, I think I am healthier than i am now but really any time I take the stairs it is a reminder that I smoked for 5 years heavily.

By shittyness I mean the groggyness, the throat shit, the smell, the headaches when i oversmoke, the burn all that shit.

I asked a friend obsessed with vaping and they gave me a 1300mah vision spinner and a plastic CE3 head with a replaceable coil and a few different juices. Their advice was don't mess with anything that looks like a cigarette because it won't give the hit you need to make a successful switch, nor will it have the battery life to make it not seem like a pain in the ass.

At first it felt a bit cumbersome and stupid, like of felt self concious. But I instantly preferred it to cigarettes because it was cheaper, didn't smell like shit and ticked the boxes for mouth/throat and nicotine hit. Never looked back.

My advice would be the same, get a half decent battery and head and get on with it. Don't waste time and money on underpowered things trying to look like cigarettes and just deal with the fact it looks like a bloody sonic screwdriver.

don't use cig-a-lites or really anything under 30 watts bro it's not satisfying even the ego style "pens" aren't satisfying.

You just got to get a decent vape atleast 30watts and get a kit that comes with a tank.

I had concerns. after reading up on it *they* say that ..

Nicotine causes the blood vessels to dilate reducing blood flow to the gums and can cause recession. This is nicotine dependent irrespective of method of consumption. It is also highly dependent on other factors like individual susceptibility, diet, oral hygiene routine and brushing technique.

Some people experience bleeding gums when switching from tobacco because they experience an increased blood flow to the gums and previously hidden problems like poor gum health, gum disease, poor oral hygiene etc become apparent.

Dry mouth is a thing due to PG vapour. I personally think that this could cause accelerated tooth decay and oral health issues due to saliva helping to keep teeth coated and less susceptible to bacterial adhesion and growth. This concerns me.

I think that these all these 'issues' are present anyway with tobacco smoking and vaping is likely the lesser of two evils if you do choose to consume nicotine. I think plenty of it can be avoided or reduced by reducing PG consumption, vaping direct to lung instead of mouth to lung, chewing a gum containing xylitol, drinking more water and practising good dental hygiene like regular flossing.

I'm sure you can't eliminate all the risks to every activity, but you can reduce them. I've not experienced any increase in side effects from switching to vaping, my dentist still bitches me out about receding gums, but he attributes this to nicotine and brushing technique, he doesn't single out anything else in particular.

also i should mention that you need to be flossing using the correct method. I went to to the dentist after getting back into flossing and he told me that i wasnt doing it correctly. He told me that I need to wrape the floss around my tooth, and not do it so hard by mainly just cleaning out the gums more than penetrating them.

TF-V4 Coil lifespan

So what kind of lifespan do yall get from your TF-V4 coils?

I picked one up a little while ago and I've had disappointing results. I've tried the triple, the quad, and the quad clapton and they have all lasted roughly the same. They hit great for about the first day, start to fall off by the end of the second day, and are barely usable after that.

I've had my TFV4 since they came out about 3-4 months (bad time perception, maybe shorter or longer) ago and I gotta say I think you're doing something wrong. The tri-coil lasted me about 2-3 weeks, and the quad was about the same. I'm on my second Clapton (.35 ohms) and it's been over a week with perfect vapor so I'd say that one's about the same.

You need to walk the coils up to the proper wattage. Start vaping the new coil at the minimum wattage (for example, my Clapton starts at 30 and goes up to 90) and just increase the wattage each puff by no more than 5 watts, I usually stick around 3 at a time. This will keep the coil from getting "shocked" and prematurely burning which is what your problem sounds like. I personally didn't know about this for a long time and killed many a coil this way.

The best ones I've had are the straightforward TF-Q4 quads that also come with the kit. They are also the least expensive ones and they take the highest wattage.

There are also new octuple clapton coils which are supposed to go upto 180 watt, Perhaps try them, most shops don't have them but you can order from fasttech.

Hello, /vape/
I'm looking into mixing my own juice, I have a few questions:
+Is it really as cheap as people say? One guy claimed he was paying 2 orders of magnitude less! How much did any DIYers here end up actually investing in it, and how much does a 10ml cost you now?
+Some sites offer 'kits', the one I'm looking at has all the basic equipment you'd need plus 50ml 50mg/l nicotine, plus 2x100ml bottles of PG or VG, plus 3x10ml flavours for something around £30 (around $45 US). Is this good, or could I get it significantly cheaper shopping around and sourcing things from ebay etc?
Thanks

thats overgeneralizing the matter, but it seems like a good, conservative safety statement.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotine_poisoning

and maybe im just wrongly assuming that people have cokmmon sense but i think that everybody whos handling these solutions would be wise enough to use gloves.

plus, it doesnt get absorbed instantanously and the vg/pg can be rinsed off with water.

Sophie Sammerbet - Sun, 24 Jan 2016 09:39:27 EST fRB8tm1L No.1716 Reply
If you are thinking of getting into it just cost up your supplies. I can buy 500ml of PG or VG base here in retail establishments for about 5 pounds. On Ebay by the litre for something like £9 with delivery. The flavourings are 10-30ml bottles as is the nicotine base in various concentrations for a few pounds. Some of the more exotic ones can cost up to £5.

They produce charts explaining volumetric mixing or if you've got your own scales and a calculator you can easily work it out. I think when I glanced at it I figured out once the initial purchases are made the stuff is so cheap to make as to be practically free.

The thing is you can buy 80:20 PG/VG liquids in basic flavours here for such a low price (like less than £1/10ml) that unless you want to make something special, simple economy isn't usually the driving motivation.

So then you've got to start looking at more exotic and expensive flavourings, expanding your collection, dealing with storage, handling, clean up and other paraphernalia and cost in your time. At which point you might as well just buy what you want from a half decent supplier that makes their own (plenty local and online here) unless you enjoy doing it.

30ml of 'good' juice in 20:80 PG/VG or even pure VG with decent flavours can be had here with comparable EU or UK ingredients like you'd buy to make your own 'premium' liquids for under £5 a bottle. Yeah, ok I might be able to make 500ml of it for £25 and this is approx 1/3rd of the price, but how much are you getting through? How much time are you willing to invest?
>>
Ebenezer Shakecocke - Mon, 25 Jan 2016 10:35:03 EST EOo0C0g4 No.1731 Reply
Been mixing my own liquid for a while now after spending way too much (10ml a day [£5 a day essentially]). Bought everything separate as opposed to a kit, most kits come with only 100ml of vg/pg whereas you can buy each for £6 on amazon, meaning it works out about £1> a bottle.
It isn't particularly time consuming, just a lot of transferring of liquids. In terms of steeping, they obviously taste better once steeped but it isn't essential. I'd recommend buying quite a few bottles, then mixing some liquid and putting some aside to steep, whilst vaping the others.
Also high concentrated nicotine isn't dangerous if you aren't a retard, gloves are the best protection but I often don't use them (lazy) and if I get some on me I just wash it off.

PORTABLE VAPORIZER SUGGESTIONS

Hey guys,
I am here because I need your help to make a decision.

I smoke weed for some years now and heard vaping is better for your lungs than joints, also you need less material. After a quick calculation I found out I would save around 250€ per year (probably even more) when I stop smoking joints and start vaping. Health issues aside (but would be a pro).

So I looked the past couple of days around the web which portable vapes are good, pros and cons and what I can purchase in Europe. I narrowed down my selection to these vaporizers, sorted from cheapest to most expensive:
  • Flowermate V5.0S or the mini ~120€
(con: I read that the metal piece at the mouth could get pretty hot)
  • Vapium Summit ~160€
(con: I read that the mouth piece could get hot)
  • Arizer Air ~190€

I know I could even get a Crafty for ~260€ because it would be profitable after a year, but that much money isn't worth it imo. My price range lies between 100 and 200€.
A friend told me to wait and first try it in Amsterdam in the summer, but I don't wanna wait that long. So, is it really worth it? ANd do you have any experience with one of listed vapes or do you have other recommendations?

The MFLB (Magic Flight Launch Box) is something I've used for a year or two now and really enjoy. It has a bit of a learning curve since you're directly applying a current to the mesh that heats it up by pushing in the battery, but it gives you a lot of control. I've used a Pax and still stick with my MFLB.

It has a lifetime warranty too, so as long as it doesn't work you can ship it in and get whatever parts don't work replaced.

The original maple kit is $120 + S/H, but if you ever need new batteries don't buy them from the magic flight site -- You can get more powerful batteries for cheaper if you just buy 4-pack of duracell/energizer rechargeable NiM batteries from a store.

Let me know if you have any questions about it!

Hey guys, sorry for the newfag question, but my friend recently bought a vape for the first time, a Pax 2.

We wanna try and smoke hash with it, but we're not sure if we've been doing it correctly, anyone have experience using hash in vaporizers?

We've just been cutting it fine and inserting it into the oven wrapped in a bit of tobacco. Is that retarded?

the more you break it up the more surface area there is, the more uniform the heating of the hash will be and your vaping process will be more efficient (in terms of how many actives are in each draw)

if you just chuck a log of hash in there it will heat and vape it from the outside in which is gonna take longer and means at some point you'll boil enough of the active chemicals out of this outer layer essentially leaving behind a crust of plant matter that prevents the inner part which still contains cannabinoids from being able to properly vaporize

i mean thats generally how its going to happen, of course it'll differ depending on the quality and type of hash

I had a friend who had one of those. Let me just say, be very careful. The way you are doing it is actually the only way to preserve the device. If you let the resin build up on the sides it will gum it up and eventually he was not able to open the device without breaking it, simply because the resin buildup was so sticky. He did not smoke tobacco. End report.
Also, i do not second that you have to break up the buds, unless they are compressed. (but if you were doing hash it doesn't even matter) Adding the surface area from the volume is marginally productive when under convective heat transfer. You want to do that with hash because your sheets are not thin i am assuming, but with the whole buds most bowls just aren't built for the kind of vertical integration you get with a piece like this. I'd say the combustion was top par for whole nugs, but you need to be careful that the resin doesn't build up and you get the thing stuck till it breaks. Best of luck op.

That's indeed 25A at the atty but, assuming 90% efficiency and both batteries at 2.5V cutoff or 5V in series, the current on the batteries is 18A and, with both batteries at nominal voltage, the current is 12A.

For someone who has never smoked before. Do you recommend them to start vaping?

In short, no. I personally smoked cigarettes for about a year or so socially then started buying my own. Slowly I started getting further into cigarettes although I never reached addiction. One day I was about to buy another pack when I saw a shitty little ecig like Blu but it was called Square.
I haven't had a cigarette since and that was about 3 years ago BUT I became addicted to nicotine through my mod. I say addicted to ecig > cigarettes so I feel like it did save me in that aspect, but now I'm more addicted to nicotine than ever.

Do you mind becoming a small time addict over a long period of time? Cause that's basically what you sign up for.
On the plus side, vaping is fucking glorious, I love doing it.

Yea, be wary of this. Vaping will get you FAR more addicted than smoking ever could. It's just so easy to take another hit. You don't have to go outside, there's no bad smell, and it never goes out.
I haven't smoked in almost a year thanks to my vape, but I'm sure as hell 10x more addicted than I ever was as a smoker. The one time I DID relapse and go back to cigarettes, I smoked twice as much as I ever did before because I was so used to having my nicotine fix whenever I wanted it with my vape.

Hey /vape/. I picked up vaping about a month ago and have been using Hangsen liquids which I'll have to admit I don't find very tasty at all, I think part of the reason is that I'm using 24mg (I'll switch to 12mg next time if it makes it much more enjoyable).

I wondered if anybody could recommend me high quality juice brands that aren't too expensive, I'm looking for something I can buy in the 30-50ml range so I can keep it going for a while.

So far I've tried the Hangsen Watermelon, Amaretto and Mango flavours but I've not found any to have that great of a flavour despite me thoroughly enjoying their physical counterparts.

Luckily I live close by to a nice vapeshop and know the guy who runs it so I get to have my juice mixed in front of me/get good advice on what to get. One kick ass flavor OP is called Cereal Killer. It tastes like Crunchberries.

Just stay the fuck away from vapure.com. Those fucks sold me a good, labeled bottle of the stuff then when I ordered another batch they sent some shit they made in a sink. Cheap ass bottle with magic marker as a label, flavor was more akin to butterscotch and the juice was a runny mess. I pointed all this out to them and they said it was just a new batch that needed to steep, never mind the difference in product/labeling.

I don't know any thing about vaping, I'm thinking about getting the eVic-VT mini, what's a good head thing to use pot oil with? Where can I learn about what's the business with coils and cotton?

Pot oil means concentrates. Sticky stuff, so the cotton wick works against you. What you want to do is make a Clapton coil and small inner diameter to get surface area. Warm up the coil a little bit, enough to melt off some concentrate into it without it being overly saturated. All the little channels in the coil hold the oil well and you can get really nice hits off it. Dry burning to clean and you're good to go. Hash oil does not like to mix with PG or VG very much, and the oils/terpenes are sticky it doesn't melt into it awfully well. This is why stuff like EJMix/Puff Magic and other products are popular, they're a blend of PEG's and sometimes a bit of PG in them as well that do saturate with hash oil well and allows for use in tanks/dripping, but most people say it has a distinct taste to it. Those Gpens aren't very good either. Clapton coil works fine if you want to skip those products. Plus you can set watts to do low-temp hits or high temp. You could do dual coils and it would fuck you up.
