I just bought a starter kit from Vaporesso that came with a Veco One Plus tank on it, and I'm just not enjoying it at all. It seems like there's more of an issue than the tank not being great though, and I'm trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong or if I got shitty coils.

They sent me two coil heads in the package, one cotton and one ceramic. I primed both by dropping some juice on the wicking material and letting it all absorb, then put the coil in, filled the tank, and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. I also start vaping at the low end of the recommended range and then build it up a bit.

The results just suck. The only flavor I get is a residual burnt cotton taste. I should clarify that it's not like taking a burnt or extremely dry hit that tastes like you ate a burnt cotton swab, it's just dry vapor that tastes like cotton. I've tried 3 or 4 different juices just to see if the one I was using suck, but it's all the same.

I started with the cotton coil head and feel like it got better after a break in period, but it still seemed off and there was very little flavor. I decided to try the ceramic one since a lot of people say Ceramic is better for flavor, but it's even worse. If I take a drag longer than ~2 seconds it tastes of burnt asshole. The device is also changing the resistance of the coil between .52 and .60 Ohms, which seems really fucking weird for a coil that came with the kit.

Should I just try another tank?

Try the other coil, and before hitting it, close off the airflow and take a good, long (10+ second) drag without touching the button. Then start over, at the low end and working to where you like it. If this doesnt work. Buy a new coil. If that doesnt work, get a new tank. I reccommend supertanks, cleitos and smok tanks, with no particular preference.

Curious, what juice are you using?

You should get some base juice and just add it to your regular juice so you don't have to go find your fav flav.

Finding information on vaping is really hard to come by. So I have a buttonless vape pen, and it uses these kinds of things. Well, I bought a pack of 100 of them, and I'm wondering how long each cartridge lasts before I have to replace it with a new one. Was it a ripoff to buy 100 of them?

Finding information on vaping really isnt hard to come by... You just have an archaic setup. If it works for you then good, ut look into a smok v8 stick or something

Did you just buy 100 empty cartridges? cause yeah, why? If anything you'd want to buy more than one battery which is what I end up doing.
I only buy pre filled cartridges. I got refill one time and it was a pain in the ass.

If you bought 100 of those filled, you're good to go for awhile I'd assume. You wouldn't be able to smoke it fast enough.

Regular weed smoker here, never vaped much. I've got bad asthma and need to switch to vape. Is a Launch Box s good option? I don't exactly feel like dropping $300+ on something I don't know I'll like.

I mainly just want to make sure it will get me stoned and not waste weed.

Im using one right now. Im high off a little weed. You just cant tell cause the vapor is so thin but yh it working. I hadnt use for ages but it makes a nice change to a bong. There's prob better portable ones out there but I dont know what they are.

I back the MFLB 100 percent. Like Isabella said, there might be better ones out there but you can't beat it for the price, and for herb smoking. I also have a G Pen, which was also $100 and that shit is trash, it's just an electronic pipe.

I've had my MFLB for about 5 years now, and I bought it off a friend second hand, who I used to use it with. There is a slight learning curve if you're coming from smoking, and it's not the best for social gatherings, unless your friends know how to use it really. It definitely will get you stoned, and you won't waste weed.

Also, the battery charging can be annoying, but you can always buy the wall adapter later if you're using it frequently and at home.

Plus, you can save the vaped bud and cook with it (or just eat a tablespoon, and wash it down with something strong tasting).

Beginner Coil Building

Anyone know where to start with building coils?
The only things I have currently are two very small screwdrivers, some 24g Ni200, and the RDA in the picture.
I've seen people building coils before, and I've always been fascinated by it. I have cotton already as well.
Judging from what I've seen, the only things I'm missing are an ohms meter, and ceramic-tipped tweezers (or something similar)
Is there any way to build coils without those if you've never done it before?

24, 26, 28ga Kanthal A1 is a good place to start. If you don't have an ohms reader use a regulated device (one with a chip that shows resistance) to check on, ceramic tweezers aren't necessary but sure make it a lot easier since you can fire and pinch coils at the same time, with metal you will cause a short doing this).

Make sure you know the diameter of what you will be winding it around (3mm screwdriver is a good starter diameter I feel, easy to wick and not too big or small coils). Also don't let the coils touch the posts, cap or anything metal so it doesn't cause a short. Youtube has some good tutorials.

You can use a regulated device to check your ohms on though, and metal tweezers to pinch but be CERTAIN not to fire the device while you have metal tweezers touching your coils as this will cause a short and you will have a bad time. I used to pulse mine then make sure my hand was far away from the button to not fire it and squeeze the coils when they were still warm when I didn't have ceramic tweezers. It's not ideal but it's possible, read more on it so you don't make a stupid avoidable mistake.

tldr: have a regulated device to check your ohms on, buy kanthal a1 (24,26,28 if you only can get one 26 is a good start), and id highly suggest spending the 10$ or less on decent ceramic tweezers as well as flush wire snips to clip your leads (I used nail clippers for a while then once I got snips I wondered why I didn't spend the extra 5$ or so for the snips). Also watch a lot of youtube tutorials.

OP here. Update: I gave up and bought a small kit with some 5-wrap Kanthal. Pic related. I have two running at 75.5w, down to 1.7 ohms. Smooth as can be for now. Any suggestions for where to go next? I have a Temple RDA as well, but the coils I bought are a bit small to fit in it, since the posts are far apart, and Kanthal doesn't like to bend easily without springing back.

Question for you guys, I've been vaping on and off for about 2 years, and I got my first good mod maybe two months ago. And i'm looking to get into RDAs. I figured if i'm going to get one, I might as well get one that will last me. (Also on a side note all my friends and I are kind of all competing with eachother over who has the larger clouds. ) So I'm thinking about picking up the Mason 40mm RDA this weekend and Iwas wondering if anybody has any thoughts on it. It has quite a bit of over hang on my mod but that doesn't bother me. I'm open to suggestions but I'm looking for something to really show my friends up. Thanks in advance. Pic related, it's my mod, iPV3-Li

>>3631 i have the mason 40mm with a custom prima vapor top cap (you'll run about $100 for both, but the top cap is what seals the deal on flavor), flavor is ridiculous with the mason, and because of the sheer chamber size vapor production is astronomical (takes 3 lungfuls to clear it after filling once). the deck size is also a plus. I usually have some form of dual 18/triple 15 wrap parallel coils that really just can't be built in any other RDA, ive got a recoil, OBS, and quite a few others but i just keep coming back to the mason. nothing tops it.

IMO if you're gonna be vaping anything inside a mason over 100w, do yourself a favor and get a quad 18650 mod like the gx350/rx300. or plan on bringing an extra set or two of batteries with you daily.

I'm guessing it's because it takes its toll on battery life, and if the battery is a shitty one, potential instability. The 10 minute break is most likely to allow the batteries to cool down to room temperature which would be beneficial to the battery lifespan.

Sup /vape/, when I finish a cartridge is there any easy efficient way to extract those last bits of oil? If I combined what I have from like 10 empty cartridges that would over half-fill one I think. Is this a common question?

Sometimes they'll be too tight and you might damage them when taking things apart. A bit of juice on there lubricates them to avoid this and in no way impedes their ability to prevent leaking.

Thread below yours is basically that. They don't work unless you fork over $700+ and it's not really the kind of vape you think either. You can vape extracted cannabis oil though so if you're down for some light DYI it'll cost you the cheapest tank you can get for like $30.
