Isn't that the shitty tekken ripoff that has people transforming into weredolphins and shit? Looked cool, played like ass?

Wouldn't mind a nice revival, but to be honest I think everything is turning into a slot machine. At least pachinko would look like a game.

It wasn't a tekken ripoff, it was it's own thing.
I remember playing it with friends back in a day, such a fun game...

Bloody Roar 3 had an amazing system which was never mentioned anywhere in the game as far as I could tell in which you pressed r1 and forward in time with enemy attacks, and your character would avoid the move and it would go "swish."

That was always satisfying when you were fighting fast characters and knew the entirety of their move set, you'd be hopping and weaving amongst many a swish.

Hello. I have noticed that this is a video game discussion board and there is no thread about Half Life: Alyx.

I have nothing to say about the game -- I just thought it was weird there wasn't a thread about it.

It's a good Half Life game, full-length and very polished. Worth $60, not worth $400 or $1000.

>Also, should I purchase VR?
This is like asking if you should purchase a new graphics card. It's going to be expensive and you'll have to replace it in a few years when the tech outpaces current hardware, but if you get it now you'll get use out of it now. Get it if you can afford it, if not, don't. There are some good VR games out now, but not very many yet.

Do you have a really good PC and a ton of money to blow? Yeah it's worth playing then. You could buy the Rift S from best buy, check it out for a couple weeks and return it if you don't like it and get a full refund.

If you love it and have a lot of money, I'd still return it and get the Index. The extra FOV is worth it if you really like VR. I feel like I've gotten my money worth just playing Pavlov VR. It's like a sort of jank counter strike that has custom game modes like TTT and Prop hunt.

Then there's Boneworks, Half life Alyx, modded skyrim VR and Blade & Sorcery which I can vouch are all fun. But seriously, only if you have a LOT of disposable income. If I was low on money I could think of way better things to spend 1000 bucks on.

Probably not. The quality is horrible right now. It's like when the PS3 just came out and there were only 3 games to play on it and millions of demos. Except now it's millions of tech demos with blurry everything.

How is it on the Switch?
I uhh...I was convinced that I would like Animal Crossing because it would give me a reason to wake up in the morning and everyone I follow on twitter was going crazy about it...I shouldn't have listened to them, never listen to people who like Stephen Universe. I've played 3 animal crossings and never truly liked it, I can absolutely see the appeal and I get it, but the games aren't for me.

Anyway, that's why I'm considering buying the new Project Diva Miku game OR buying Doom, so I'm open to your suggestion.

I mean, considering some of those games spawned one of the biggest genres ever, would seem like a reasonable thing to do, no? Just in terms of gaming history at least?

I would personally recommend pocket rumble, I'm not sure how the netcode or online community is, but it's extremely fun and beginner friendly

It's a spiritual successor to the Neo Geo Pocket fighting games, which were fantastic and did the best job of anyone of adapting fighting games to a handheld without sacrificing depth or playability, imo they still hold up today on an emulator just on their own merits as a game

I do't know. If you own a high end 8k projector you'd probably notice the difference between 4k and 8k in a gigantic 420 inch projection quite easily. And in VR 8k is probably not even high enough a resolution, since it's a display glued to your face. There's plenty of use for comically high resolutions, you're thinking of TVs and monitors, and these are displays of the past, maaan. But I don't blame you for not even remembering the existence of such expensive tech like projectors and high end VR since who the fuck has the money to buy this shit. Fuck, some people have tripple 4k projector setups for pc gaming, can you imagine being this fucking rich? And these people avoid paying taxes like it's the black corona

With VR it's really about the optics and how much they can concentrate the detail where it needs to be.
Periphery needs a ton less. It's a completely different area as far as that goes. We've already got anti-aliasing techniques that focus on the central view and basically give up toward the edges, which I'm pretty sure requires special hardware support, like the Nvidia 20 series does it but the 10s don't if I recall correctly.

Has anyone here on 420chan ever played Echo, the VN?

It's pretty good, in my opinion: very atmospheric, chilling, and phantasmagoric, at times.

Yes, yes, it is furry, but I don't think that should detract from the game itself. And yes, it starts out as a gay VN, but none of the "romance" ever actually pans out, since it's more of a horror game aimed at subverting dating sim tropes

I really recommend it, and I think it's a real shame that it has such a small following/is relatively unknown outside of a small fandom.

Steam Remote Gay Together review

Played some internet-based local coop to test this out last night.

Games tested: Gangbeasts; Duck Game; Ultimate Chicken Horse

Voice chat: Reasonably high quality, "just werks" out of the box. Echo cancelling is not very good, so plan to use headphones. Never dropped out. Sometimes game volume was far too loud; keeping games at 5-10% volume or totally off in some situations worked best. However, even when the game was running, it's critical to say again that voice chat never cut out once. It was always there, seamless, from our group chat right into the game.

Connecting: You need to be friends in order to use the feature. Start the game, right click and select Invite to Remote Gay Together. One friend was able to join immediately and select his controller. Other had a problem where I had to cancel the invite and then reinvite every time we played a new game.

Latency: This is what everyone's wondering about. Is this playable with high levels of precision? When Remote Play Together launched with Cuphead as the flagship title, people balked. There's no way the input could be that good.

We were connecting from the US, Canada and Japan. This would be a proper test of how well controls responded. To put it bluntly: when it didn't work, it sucked ass (total freeze, both remote players unable to control anything but I as the host could). But when it did work, it was absolutely brilliant. My friend in Japan was able to absolutely nail shots in Duck Game. And most of the time, it worked. According to them, it was very close to being there, and they didn't feel any need to complain, even in highly input-sensitive games.

Recommend?: It's still rough around the edges, but the core components are there. When it works, it works really well. And the fact that only one person needs to buy and run the game is huge. I'd definitely try this with your stranded homies this Pandemic Season.

Yeah, that one is really tricky, and I think will never be resolved. Unless games start supporting multiple mice. The way the tech works it just pipes in the input rawdog. That's why they were able to do it, just fakes the input through a different method.

Still, even despite that, awesome. Most couch coop/vs you don't play with mouse/kb anyhow.

Yuri goodness all around. very light on the drama. A well packaged VN full of comedy. Good music too. Im just a total sucker for Yuri VN with a dumb oneesan and a bubbly teen girl.
I Just really love the art. I think i recognize the art-style but im not sure and i cant find the source for it. I want more but its their first VN and im mighty impressed. Im sure this company has a lot of veterans in it.

I still wouldnt touch the Steam version. If you're curious get it from MangaGamers. These guys are doing a decent Job. A little too liberal with the translation but still its great.

I'm a little dizzy myself. I've been DnDing with my friends on discord everynight. I feel a little out of it.

regions of ruin. dwarf-based terraria alike sans mining but with light basebuilding and idle mechanics. it's ok aside from some unwarranted difficulty spikes depending on what areas you explore.

it's currently free on steam btw along with an optional dlc.
