What an unbelievably lame "idea". This has been around for ages. There used to be CD-loads of material of such sorts per single game. It used to be included in games. Like Abuse. If Megaman X1 or X3 had an editor for it, it might have been appealing. But only now they try this kind of stuff, like that "Megaman deathmatch" thing just disappointed as far as I observed(it probably didn't even have any serious voxel use!)

But at least this will stop any exceptionally delusional megaman fanboys from kludging some more available game into a megaman canvas. That would be even more lame, imagine a megaman game that requires you to use a mouse!

I expressed that wrong, I should have said megaman fanboys kludging a megaman skin onto another game(pic related!). This isn't a kludge, it couldn't be, I mean, it's one title in that whole flood of "retro-styling" games that has graphics generally as weak as an 8-bit game, though by no means neccessarily consistantly of such a form, requiring a full fledged modern PC, hardly a daunting programming task where kludgery would be an intensely tempting workaround for it.

Then again, megaman fanboys did have experience/example of kludging to draw upon, eg., megaman in the mushroom kingdom. And let's not forget the most obscene kludge ever, MM the power battle, I'm still not getting any notions about what the hell they were thinking.

Elite: Dangerous

Elite: Dangerous got some updates a couple months ago. With the 30 (canadian) dollar season pass you can now land on planets, use surface recon vehicles, and collect materials to upgrade your ships through engineer characters you can unlock. There's a lot more features but really the engineering is the biggest thing. It allows you to make any ship in the game viable for combat.

I played about 4 years ago and was turned off by the large grind to get enough credits to get whatever ship I wanted. But they also updated mining a few months ago and it's profitable enough to turn what used to be a 400 hour grind into a 5 hour one. I now own a fer de lance and an anaconda and I have 300 million spare credits. It's working out nicely.

Anyone else into Elite? If you have it and haven't played in a while, check it out. It's really going places.

So I bought P5 at launch, but got backlogged on some games and never got around to beating it. I’m still in the first dungeon mind you. I’m wondering if I should even bother finishing or playing it or just holding out for royal. I played the shit out of P4 Golden and P3 portable, which makes me kinda wish they made a handheld release for this but that’s obviously out of the question.

I just finished it. Took me about 7 hours but i got lost a lot. Game is great to play through on a weekend and there is more content for you to play if you wanted. I would really love some multiplayer. Pretty typical final boss. I like how you get to him though so im not disappointed or anything. Would've been better if there was some kind of puzzle to take him down.

Dont most jrpgs have like 80% backtracking? Im not trying to defend berseria even though I enjoyed it, but I didnt think it had too much backtracking for a jrpg. Xilia 1 was the worst in the series to me, terrible characters , boring story, the link attacks got boring quickly , and Jude and Milla are the worst characters, even Luke from Abyss was better.

Not really. Unless you yourself need to backtrack, the games themselves doesn't forcefully make you backtrack as part of the storyline.

i might buy one of those things. its always been my dream to own one of those arcade racing machine things with the wheel and pedal. what do you guys think? do you think it would be close to the same? i think it might be better in a way because my tv screen will be bigger than arcade game screen and i can also play really new racing games with really good graphics

i mostly want to do a lot of drifting and fucking around with it maybe just driving and messing around. im getting a pretty decent wheel supposed to have all the features. they sell a stick shift seperate but for some reason its fucking the same cost as the entire wheel thing. i just want something close to the initial D feel im not picky and ive always wanted these.

i dont even have a single video game i play anymore they are all so boring to me. i quit wow so i figured this thing will just pay for itself since wow is 15 a month. im just hoping the stand i get will work with the wheels and pedal screwing on there

Probably while playing Engineer on TF2 Center. I hopped into a 9v9 lobby and was like OH BOY ENGINEER'S OPEN, MY FAVORITE CLASS! Then some snot-nosed 13-year-old Spy main on the other team was like

>Why the fuck would you main Engineer? Jesus christ, dude, how have you not fucking killed yourself?

Cut to the end of the match, I'm on the top of the scoreboard by a large margin, out-fragging our Sniper, Soldier, Heavy and Demo, and even out-scoring our Medic, which is unheard of in most PUG lobbies. I absolutely fucking flattened the other team with aggressive non-meta sentry placement and Frontier Justice crits, to the point that they didn't even take a single round; by the end I'm dominating like 4 of them, and of course that's including Spy kid despite his best efforts.

Then I get on the post-game mic and go,

>Hey kid, THAT'S fucking why I main Engineer. GG.

I used to do similar shit all the time in Valve Matchmaking too. There's nothing more satisfying than getting top MVP after your team whines about your class choice at the start. GOD, WHY ARE YOU PLAYING ENGINEER, ENGINEER IS SO FUCKING USELESS, YOU STUPID FUCKING COD KID YOU CAN'T PLAY ENGIE IN 6V6, GO BACK TO CASUAL MODE AND STOP RUINING THE GAME FOR US. Nope.avi

I was powergaming on SS13 goonstation once and ate 28 crew members as a changeling and also completed my objectives. Had a lot of close calls and had suspicion fall on like 5 or 6 of my identities which I had to keep changing.

I beat all the Dark Souls 3 bosses except 3 (including DLC bosses) with a level 1 character.

I 100%ed FEZ without looking anything up. I had pages of scrawled notes I used to figure out the number system and language and everything. It was a lot of fun actually. Made me feel like an ancient wizard researching secrets or something.

I beat Portal 2 Coop by myself in a short period of time in the early hours of the morning at my friends house. Everyone else was asleep but I really wanted to beat the coop. It involved rapidly switching between controllers and doing all kinds of crazy shit.

This is a nice nerdy thread.
>brag about things in video games
I used to go to bed real early freshman year in college, and one night after I had gone to bed, everyone got real drunk and started playing SSB Brawl, which is entirely worse than melee in every way, but that's a separate discussion. Anyway, these two guys come by, not very drunk at all, and one of them is calling himself, "The Gooch". His buddy claimed he was really good at smash, and sure enough he beat everyone in the dorm, 6 people or so, one after the other. Admittedly my crew was drunk, but still it was a harsh blow for us.

After the Gooch defeated the most skilled of my friends, him and his buddy started cheering loudly about conquering our dorm and shit. For clarification, they were in one room and I was alone sleeping in the other with the door shut. So I wake up to all the noise, a little grumpy, and I come out in a bathrobe to see what's going on. "Oh mang you have to play him" my friends drunkenly told me. "You guys haven't conquered our room until you beat Abe!" they declared. Although I knew nothing of smash back then, I was a huge fish in a tiny puddle, so my ego was huge.

So we start up a game, and they call for 2v2s, probably since they were sober and nobody that could team with me was. My good friend teamed with me, but was so drunk that he couldn't keep his eyes on the TV, and so he lost all four stocks before anybody else lost any. Having knocked my teammate out, the Gooch and his pal were feeling confident about the 2v1, but I was trying really hard under the pressure of sobriety and a good night's sleep. I'd be lying if I said I remember the details of the fight, but I remember that I was able to avoid their attacks very consistently (even with team attack on), and I ended up taking 4 stocks from the other guy and still having two left. I was down in the 1v1 3 stocks to 2, but I ultimately beat the Gooch on Corneria, using lots of disrespectful grabs and throws for swag towards the end.

It's a great feeling, that moment when you go from being at a disadvantage, to knowing that you've won. After I beat them, I told them never to yell in our room again after 8PM, and I went back to bed a hero, my drunk friends even louder with celebration than the Gooch and his companion had been.

They're not just prettier than older games, they're actually better too. Role playing games give you more options, simulation games are more accurate, experimental games are more experimental-y, there are more porn games than your dick can handle, strategy games are more complex, it's all good. I hate it when people feel the need to virtue signal about how they care about gayplay more than grayphix and how games these days are garbage, fucking poser ass bitch ass mofos

>Role playing games give you more options

RPG games are cutting more and more core content with every sequel. Those are the only ones people tend to say used to be better, and I tend to agree. Skyrim is a prime example. They cut out attributes, cut about 50% of the skills the previous games had, cut spellcrafting, and oversimplified the speech skill to be a stupid "you must be this smarmy to pass" check.

At this rate, elder scrolls 6 will have only 2 magic schools called "burny man" and "tricky man". Not that any of the spells will be useful, since all the enemies will resist every spell all the time. Of course, smithing and alchemy are clearly both just crafting, so they'll become the same skill. Archery will be absorbed by the stealth skill since you were going to take both anyway. Block will be absorbed by one handed, and there is now a single armor skill for all armour, not that it will matter because enchantment will go the way of spellcrafting.

God I hope I'm wrong but this is how things have been going. Elder scrolls keeps getting so much plastic surgery in between iterations that I don't even recognize this Michael Jackson-esque series anymore.

AAA games aren't really representative of the quality of games though. And most games from the old days were "indie" by today's standards anyway.

I see it as a function of time and cost. As the quality bar for AAA games increases higher and higher, games have to spend more and more time polishing existing features rather than adding new ones.

Yeah the only problem is video games are mostly shitty schemes at this point because of things already stated. Meanwhile games from 20 years ago can rival today's releases. Though some of that is due to the "retro aesthetic" those hipsters like. Those old games can punch above their class on "mechanics" alone. Man have I started hating that word. There is nothing mechanical going on it's just a buzz word used by people who don't know how to make video games.

Have you played any Touhou Project games?

What's your favorite one?

Fan games?

Why do you think it has such a strong fandom?

I've played Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Perfect Cherry Blossom, Phantasmorgia of Flower view, and most recently been enjoying Hidden Star in Four Seasons.

Perfect Cherry Blossom was pretty psychedelic. I mean they all are, but this one hypnotizes me often. The music and patterns, with the broken up story has a special way of bringing about a total lack of self awareness. Like nothing else matters but making it a little further each time.

A friend of mine suggested Ganso Wanderer to me and i throughly enjoyed it. Still there are plenty of inside jokes and characters that i didn't understand. The game clearly tried to be an intro of sort to the series but it was still too much for someone who've never played any of the Touhou games. Its good roguelike dungeon crawler but some of the later dungeons are a little too difficult. Even if you manage to survive long enough to be strong, you'll die of hunger anyways which can be frustrating. Im not sure i would recommend the game to anyone since it does suffer from issues but it was just the right game for me at that time and i liked it.

I t would take you around 57 hours to finish everything but it also depends on your luck in the dungeons. the later dungeons strip you of all items and equipment and you just have to try and survive. Around fifty hours into the game, all the work that you have done upgrading weapons and amassing items is useless. Hunger becomes a serious problem too and not just a minor annoyance in the regular story line. Im kinda sad that i wont be able to watch some of the later events in the game but i didn't really understand the story entirely so im not that invested.

I didn't even know there was a fan anime. Il try to check out.

I want to role play a dedicated young Orc scholar(who lives for 2 things, battle and knowledge) whose only 2 reasons for traveling to Skyrim are for deep study at Winterhold(and to kill Ulfric too lol) to learn absolutely everything they can teach him there. I consider Master gro-Shub and Tolfdir to be the 2 smartest NPCs outside DLC. While I know a lot about TES Lore in real life, for this character I need to know what lore he would NOT be able to learn there.

So what kind of stuff would they not know in-game that I know in real life? For 1 example would they think that Talos (Tolfdir says by the nine a lot btw, not eight) is just Tiber Septim, or would they think Talos is 3 people(Zurin Arctus, Wulfharth, Tiber) sharing 1 oversoul?

I haven't made any yet, but I'm trying to learn some programming on my own. I've had at it quite a few times over the years but dropped it before I got to the juicy stuff.
Have a few game ideas that I want to try out, but need to do some simpler practice toy games before that. Maybe try to clone some board games into software, don't need any fancy graphics or anything.

Also hey if that's you brazil, how is the Blunt Weeder Game going?
