Still playing Rad, this game has an awesome stylized feel to it that seems to be congruent throughout.

luna nights. the regular attack is a knife, the special attacks are knives, the crouch-slide ability is a knife. today i learned that even the double-jump is a knife.

also fuck the blue flame enemies that you can only hit by stopping time. the movement pattern is hateful, half the time they're inside floors or walls, fuck em.

I actually finished Katana Zero like 2 days ago and thought it was great but also I could only play it in small doses every day. Might be different for you, but i'd still recommend it either way.
Fun, satisfying combat, an interesting story and its stylish as hell.
Its a bit short but I picked up for a little over ten bucks during an eshop sale so I was more than happy with the purchase

I really enjoyed that game too. Forgotten Anne is somewhat similar not so chill but it's very story heavy like a night in the woods.

Thanks I'll check it out once I'm done with my current game.

The Messenger is so fucking good, this might sound a little crazy but I actually think it might be a better retro homage game than Shovel Knight

I certainly liked it more than Shovel Knight (and I really liked Shovel Knight too). That may just be because I prefer the exploration of Metroidvanias more than stage based progression though, even though The Messenger starts like that. Better OST imo too, even though they're both really great.

Also just beat Distraint.

The puzzles were bit obnoxious, but I really enjoyed the story. It's a good, simple psychological horror game that you can beat in one 90 minute sitting. If you like Lone Survivor, or Silent Hill you should check it out.

I've been playing Disgaea for 15 hours and am at level 23, dealing puny damages. The level Absolute Zero, where the enemies are a bunch of flying rats constantly poisoning me, is impossible to beat right now. I've seen videos of characters dealing literal millions hit points, how the fuck am I supposed to get that good? This is also my first turn based RPG and I'm enjoying it, but I don't have that much time to grind like mad.

Going back to Soviet Republic to check out the new personal vehicle mechanics in the test branch. Feels good to see my little proles driving around in their hard-earned Trabants that they built entirely out of stuff they dug out of the ground, for some reason, which is not something I get out of a lot of city builders. Sadly neither of my export partners seem very impressed.

A lot of the power seal rooms I just ended up brute forcing by using jump recovery during invulnerability. It's a game that when is top-notch when it gives you a proper level and room to run and slash through, but the level design always has to have 2-3 screens on every level that are just gimmicky pain in the ass bullshit that kills the pacing of the game. I've been having a love-hate relationship with it so far.

I watched a longplay of Skies of Arcadia instead of actually playing it
I think I saved myself a good 30 hours of mindless grind since the story was the main draw anyway. The environments sure were pretty, they were just broken up by random battles every 10 seconds.

Back to Bangai-O. I have a heap of PS4 games to play too but I don't have a good VR environment right now and setting it up every time is a hassle (plus I'm starting to feel motion sickness on some games)

If you like this kind of game or if you've enjoyed Origins or The Witcher, absolutely. I really liked the first two Assassin's Creed games and couldn't give two poops about any of the ones after that until Origins nor do I particularly love open world games, but I loved Origins and this is pretty much more of the same in a different setting.

Obra Dinn is also worth checking out if anything you've read or seen looks at all interesting.

So I finished The Messenger and it was definitely one of the best games i've played in recent memory. Apart from a few bullshitty power seal rooms the level design was great, gameplay was fun, and the music was spectacular and probably my favorite part of the whole game honestly. I can't get that autumn hills track out of my head.
But i've got to say that even though some of the areas were challenging all the bosses were pretty damn easy. Even the final boss took me only 2 tries, but even though they were easy they were still really fun and I wish the metroidvania half of the game had more bosses. My favorite, design wise, was definitely the blue robes
I got a good 18 hours out of it and that was with collecting all the power seals and getting all the upgrades and items, i'd say that is more than worth the 15 I payed for it.
Great fucking game.

I can understand insisting on adding a time mechanic to the Atelier Series. Atelier Sophie didn't have one and the game was boring, Something felt seriously missing in that game. I read the guide before i jumped into it and i knew they give you more time than you'll ever need to prepare for the exam but it still manages to stress me out. Been playing Bomb Chicken. This game has no right being as fun as it is. it's such a simple and stupid concept but so well executed I love it a lot. The level design and animations are wonderful. My one compaint is that I can already tell it's going to be a very short game.

Picked up Kiwami in the sale so I figured I should go back and actually finish 0. It's pretty amazing, although I just hit chapter 14 and can't help feel like it's starting to drag on a bit. That whole underwater fight club section for example seemed like pure padding that didn't mesh with the tone or add to the story at all. Maybe if I was more into the combat system it wouldn't be an issue, but at this point I'm just sorta repeating the same combos over and over again to get through it. Still, what a great game.

Buy it on the PC, It looks and plays better. You get a lot of content for the price you pay so you don't really have to wait for a sale. It's a pretty easy dungeon crawler with an interesting mechanic. You use ingredients you pick up in the dungeon to cook curry for yourself and your partner Kuu. Kuu gets really op if you keep feeding him delicious food so its pretty fun trying to make the best curry and watch him wreck shit.

Playing Heretic on Black Plague Possesses Thee difficulty. I always thought this game was kind of boring and easy, so I usually lost interest before even getting to the end of the first episode, and I've never seen the whole thing. Playing it on the hardest skill with 300% faster monsters is just the shot in the arm it needed, this game fucking kicks ass.

I still thought it was a bit too easy until I got to the end boss of Episode 2, THREE FUCKING MAULOTAURS AT ONCE. Holy shit that level kicked my ass for a while until I realized their deadliest attacks are completely useless if you hover a few feet up with the Wings of Wrath. The Cyberdemon ain't fucking shit compared to these guys, and I hear Episode 4 has one in the first fucking level. I'm excited to play through the rest of this. Definitely assuaging my butthurt over not being able to run Amid Evil on my laptop.

Finally getting around to playing Pillars of Eternity: Deadfire. Just completed the quests on Tikawara. For some reason I don't remember Aloth and Pallegina being so cunty in the first one, but their insufferability has definitely increased in the five year interim between games. But to make an important distinction, they aren't annoying because of bad writing or characterization, I think they're well-written fucking twats. That said, I'm enjoying the atmosphere of the second one and they fleshed out the experience of the first one in pretty much every area.

I hope the Obsidian curse skips this title somehow since they did their own follow-up and released it on their own time. The effect wherein every part of the original is improved upon, yet somehow it feels incomplete at the end.

I think they lost some of the meandering charm of the original but incomplete? Nah. I playes the game through a couple of times. I ran once through with a team of smartarses which was fun, Eder, Xoti, Serafen and Tekehu can cover most main PCs pretty well and all get on.

Aloth and Pallegina can be dicks. Depends what you thought of the gods at the end of the first game how much of a dick they really are. They had a rod up their arse for sure but I blame the gods for putting it there. Especially when you learn why there are godlike.

Should I get AC Black Flag, Origins or Odyssey?
Always heard good things about Black Flag, it seems to be a lot of people's favorite
Same thing with Origins, plus playing in Egypt sounds really fun and I heard they made a lot of changes that almost make it feel like The Witcher 3 which I loved
And Odyssey is just the newest one which I haven't personally heard much about but I have always loved Greek and Roman related stuff
PlayStation is having a sale so I can get them for cheap and have been looking to get back into the series since I haven't played one since 3

I'm leaning towards Origins

Get Origin and Odyssey. Origin is a good game and im sure you'll like the Egyptian theme. Odyssey is more or less the same game except with more cosmetic items, leveling options, fun gameplay, and wackier side quests. Don't expect a good gripping stories though. Origin is more serious than Odyssey but it tried too hard. With Odyssey they just wanted to have fun with the story and the side quest and it made the game a lot more fun to play through.

Black Flag is the best AC game I've played. The piracy was so much fun I stopped playing the game just to have a pirate fleet and sink a ton of ships. Made it to 9th on the most sunk ships of all time when the game released.

Origin was fun but annoying. They added a level system that really doesn't fit with the game. They made combat less lock on, press x to win, but they also made it so that you can't even assassinate people if they're a few levels higher than you because they'll catch you. Because of this, a lot of the map is artificially locked off until you get better gear. It just doesn't feel like assassin's creed. Also you won't be using the hidden blade in combat anymore because it's useless. I found most weapons useless in melee, actually. Ironically the giant warhammers are the most effective weapon for the assassin because they can't be blocked and they hit multiple enemies. It was fun to play but I'm glad I never paid for it.

I recommend piracy for origins, and buying the pirate game.

I didn't mind either of them, though maybe that's because I thought Eder and Xoti were infinitely more annoying. Like you say, not that they were badly written but I have an irrational hate for the whole "aw shucks I'm just a simple wholesome country boy" shtick. Anyway, still haven't finished it but I heard they put out a bunch of big updates, so I've been thinking I should give it another shot at some point. Anyone try the DLC yet?

Finally fucking beat Heretic, or at least the original 3 episodes.

D'Sparil on Black Plague mode is straight up the hardest fucking boss fight I've ever played in a game. Took me like 15 fucking tries, and when I finally did beat him it was only because the sheer volume of projectiles from his spawned minions killed him via friendly fire. Holy shit.

I estimate the number of projectiles they shot every SECOND to be 60, with 3 projectiles coming from each Disciple, of which there could be 20, every single second, if not faster. So every 5 seconds there would be AT LEAST 300 fucking projectiles flying through that level. D'Sparil wasn't circle-strafing around the perimeter of the level like I was, just teleporting to a random pad and walking a few feet, so I guess he got hit by enough of them to run his health out. Fuck it, I'll take it. Jesus christ. Bullet hell does not even fucking begin to describe Heretic's final boss on the highest skill.

I played the first chapter of Detroit and I'm actually surprised. I gave up on heavy rain a few hours in because I was so fucking bored but they actually managed to make this one sort of fun and interesting. The mechanics actually fit really well with this sort of atmosphere and they made a lot of quality of life improvements like not having to hold down R2 to move your character, which was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in a video game. You actually feel more in control with this one. But boy does it seem like David Cage sleeps with a book of cliches on his nightstand. Just write a shitty detective movie already David, we all know you want to do it and maybe after that's thrashed in reviews you'll stop writing for good.
I just hope it doesn't turn into boring shit again after that first Connor segment
And what's with these games and close ups of characters faces? The loading screens in heavy rain were just close ups and it was awkward and uncomfortable, now I got some android bitch staring at me on the main menu screen

More that I have a feeling of uncertainty playing this one left me.

I'll say, Peach Ball is very enjoyable as a game. It plays well, there is plenty of variety in game mechanics to keep me entertained, and it's a weird sort of fun. It's also very SK with adorable references to the main games and a complete dressing room mode.

Additionally, I like how this and Reflexology both include the player as the main character. Obviously that wouldn't work in the main games. It's cool to be playing and then Haruka turns to the screen and talks to you.

Now, what I mean about the direction is if it keeps going this way then maybe it's safe. Reusing the same old engine to make more small stories and mini games. The series is definitely no stranger to it, Bon Appetit probably got a strong fan response and encouraged it. Then you have the card game and mobile game.

With it's own creator leaving, what I would hope for is someone would revamp the series. I can imagine how cool it would be to play a game that only featured 10 new characters from the mobile game in the story, and focused on them thoroughly.

All in all, I mean to say I dont hate this. I even quite like this. However, I didnt ever hope for this. Peachball is 10/10 for what it is and I recommend it.

Still playing Moonlighter. I'm actually surprised with how much playtime and enjoyment i'm getting out of this game, I'm usually not a fan of roguelikes and while I really wouldn't call this one it definitely has some clear roguelike elements. Randomly generated dungeons, losing most of your inventory when you die, but I feel like they found a sweet spot where even people like me can enjoy those elements.

It's an alright game, but so many of the features are half baked. The shop management is super shallow and boring, the dungeon crawling isn't all that challenging or exciting, and there's basically only one correct weapon to use because they rest are essentially useless. I haven't played it since beating it on V1, so maybe some of the later updates fixed it, I just don't have any interest in returning to it. I was really hoping for a Reccetear killer, but it ended up paling in comparison to a much older game.

Play Recettear, if you wanna try something similar. It's annoyingly anime, in my opinion, but it's a solid solid game in the same style. I'd say Moonlighter is based on it, but I don't know that as a fact, they're just similar enough.

I agree with you on the combat, it needs some work. Only viable weapon is the big sword and a bow on the offhand for occasional use. I'm not sure what has changed since the version you played but I actually really enjoy the shop aspect of the game, I just wish there was an option to arrange your shop any way you please and also some way to fire the shop assistant because shes useless and i'm tired of looking at her stupid face every time I enter my goddamn shop
Another personal complaint was that its very vague at explaining core gameplay mechanics, most of what I know about how to play this game came from googling. They give you these picture summaries about how stuff works and that is not enough for things that are essential when playing
I got the banker in town and had no fucking clue what he even did or how he worked
I got the ability to take requests from customers where they say "can you bring me ___ by _____" so I assumed you just have to find them in town and bring them their items but ACTUALLY how it works is that you have to open your shop on that specific date and talk to them when they come to the counter, which is the complete opposite of what the game implies
It certainly needs some polish and I have a lot of little nitpicks like that but overall i'm having fun

Just finished Bloodstained. I haven't played any of the Metroidvania classics apart from new stuff like Hollow Knight, so no nostalgia, but it was alright. Didn't blow me away, but it's still pretty engaging. Just the right amount of grind, imo. I think I got around 98% of the map in 22-ish hours, might go back in a few months and crank up the difficulty, so maybe not the best value ever but I don't regret picking it up.

I know a few of you said to buy Odyssey but I'm having a lot of fun with Origins so far
The combat is much different than any other AC game I played, I like that there's a slight focus on stealth and that there's some light hunting/crafting/looting, the world is beautiful and I like the character you play as. There seems to be a lot to do in the game so I think I'm gonna be playing it for a while

AC games always felt like video game comfort food to me: I know what it is going in, it rarely surprises me, but it rarely disappoints me, either, jank and all. I recently played through Syndicate and felt that story-wise it was probably the weakest of any of the AC games, but it really gives you a whole lot of shit to do. I'm going through the Jack the Ripper DLC right now, and I don't really like it so far, but I want to finish it before I uninstall Syndicate for good and move onto Origins.

I reinstalled Origins after putting 32 hours into Odyssey and I gotta say Origins is much better. I don't understand why Odyssey runs so much worse than Origins, because it's only a marginal improvement in terms of graphics if any at all, but it runs like dog shit on my somewhat decent rig compared to Origins. It also somehow feels clunkier in a lot of ways and the setting/story just aren't as good. Bayek's a legit cool character whereas Alexios is just a mercenary dudebro.

Also I like the combat better and the world overall way prettier.

I mean I definitely like the game's representation of ancient Egypt more than their representation of ancient Greece, but that's far from the only reason. Alexios is pretty shit and I don't like how hamfisted the whole story and premise is compared to even Origins. Also the UI is somehow worse in Oddysey and some other minor things feel clunkier for some reason. Like even the dumb ass NPCs jump out of the way of your horse a quarter of a mile before you run into them which isn't as pronounced in Origins. It's almost as if they gave Origins enough love, care and time and rushed Oddysey out to make as much money in as little time as possible.

I also seriously don't understand how it runs that much worse!

Atelier Sophie is one of the chilliest and easy going games in the Atelier Series. You picked a good point to start. There is no Time management system so its a lot less intimidating to players. Some people think its pretty slow and boring and it kinda is compared to the other Atelier games, but i think it has its charming in its own way. Easy battles too but end game bosses are some of the hardest so dont hate yourself if you cant take them on.

It's only 2-3 hours long and doesn't have much boss/enemy variation but it's really fun to play and cheap too, you pretty much get your moneys worth. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a small game to play

The last hour I've just been adventuring around Siwa finishing up everything I can before bayek leaves and it's very relaxing, very comfy. Lots of sights to see lots of loot to collect
I find it really funny how when you take someone's boat that was already paddling it the prompt says "borrow" and they kind of just hang out on the boat while you go to your destination. It's crazy how big this map is, assuming you can visit all the places that are on it. I didn't look at it outside of siwa until a bit ago and it looks like there's a ton of areas. I'm really excited to see what's in each of them

Good stuff. So you started with the Atelier Sophie, which is the first of the mysterious sub-series. Atelier Sophie story continues in next games, Atelier Firis and Atelier Lydie & Suelle. You picked the right game to start with because it introduces a new crafting system that is more expanded on in the other games. If you wanted to buy other Atelier games, do the same and start with the first one of the sub-series. So like for the Arland sub-series you start with Atelier Rerona, then move on to Atelier Totori and Atelier Meruru. Each Atelier game has a relatively different crafting system, but the first game of the sub series usually introduce a new crafting system and then expands on it in the other games of the sub-series.

Atelier Sophie crafting is well balanced until end game. Just remember to focus on understanding what each Trait does to maximize the damage your bombs and equipment. Levels and quality don't really mean much, its all in the traits.

I 100%'d all of the achievements for Void Bastards last week. I regretted it because some of the achievements (mostly the "no deaths" on superhard mode one) are stupid hard and require a very large amount of luck (and frustrating moments when your 6-hour run gets screwed by the RNG but there's nothing you can do about it besides restarting).

Played a little of the final fest in Splatoon 2 yesterday but then our team of level 50 and under lost against a team of level 90+ guys and I felt no need or desire to keep feeding the matchmaker.

Played through a chunk of the story mode in Smash Ultimate instead. Got a super armor spirit which makes it a hell of a lot easier like goddamn I can actually win some of the time now. The whole spirit system seems poorly explained/implemented but I unlocked the gym so now leveling a spirit is a bit less of an investment.

The scaling AI is maddening though. It can go from completely braindead wanderers to bees buzzing around the stage at maximum speed dodging every attack and comboing you into the sky. I have to either get gud or get better spirits and you have to beat these hard stages to get better spirits so ????

So I'm playing The Kings Bird and while I'm enjoying it I have two big complaints
One is completely on my part though. I'm just not getting something about the movement. Like sometimes you can run on the top walls sometimes not i'm not exactly sure how the right trigger boost thing is supposed to work, I dont get it. Whenever I do something correctly it definitely wasn't me. I think I just need to embrace the momentum completely
Second is that it runs like shit on the switch a lot of the time, frame dropping, several crashes already in just the few hours i've played. Which is strange because I didn't think his was a graphically intense game or anything

something called nightmare reaper. yet another throwback fps. been having fun, lots of callbacks in it, got the wand from heretic in pic.

only downside is it's a bit taxing on old hardware. despite the crusty graphics the recommended hardware of a gtx6-something will actually get kind of hot if you've got the settings cranked up. why people model stuff after ancient dos-era games but decide to use something like unreal4 to include powerful dyanmic shadows/lighting and post-processing still confuses me.

it feels like a complete thing if that's what you're asking. supposedly takes like 8-9hrs to complete, play is solid and i've been enjoying it. it lives up to what's shown in videos.

stuff that feels janky: there's a few ctd bugs, i've seen 3 over several hours of play, and there's only a few basic enemy types. devs have been actively patching and communicating with players about bug reports, and full version is slated to have a lot more of every type of content. you probably wouldn't regret buying but i'd say wait a bit to make sure they're sticking with it. (obligatory "you could just play doom wads")

Played a few hours of Wolfenstein: Youngblood with my friend. This really had potential to be a fun co-op shooter, but they decided to make it like Destiny or The Division where enemies have HP bars and an "enemy level", where you will do drastically less damage to them if you're not the proper level. It's really a shame. I guess they were looking for a way to make the game co-op and not have it become super easy. There had to be a better way than this though

We did have fun but I have a feeling it's gonna get tedious and certain areas will be blocked off if we aren't a high enough level.

been seeing that impression a lot. co-op was a fine idea but a leveling system seems odd. why not just have areas locked off until certain campaign points are met like tons of other games? boring but it's proven and would've probs been better than leveling stuff.

i get that they're coming off two sequential shooters of the standard campaign type but new order and new colossus worked well. goofy decision, blame corporates, fuck.

The new wolfenstein game being The New Colossus? I thought that game was pretty damn cool, even though I was disappointed in the level design. Definitely not "shit".

Youngblood on the other hands...what a fuckin bummer. Me and my friend played a few more hours and it got BAD, really bad. You will approach areas where the enemies are essentially unkillable, and will down you in 1 shot. That is not an exaggeration in the slightest. We put nearly all of our ammo to down one enemy because he was too high a level for us to fight.

The shitty part is that we felt like we were just following the path of the game normally, and now we're just stuck because of some arbitrary fucking number above the enemies head. Way to take some of the best gunplay in modern shooters and ruin it with some fucking stupid RPG game design. At least in genuine RPGs if you go into an area like that, you have a million other places to go explore and level up in. Well not in this game, as far as I could tell the game wanted us to replay missions we had already beaten so we could level up and complete the new missions.

I got like 5 hours into Sundered and decided to restart. My skill tree was all over the place and I did something with a shard I think I would have ended up regretting. Good news is now that I know how the game works and I'm much better at it it took me about half the time to almost get back to where I was.
This game is pretty cool, the artwork and animations are both absolutely beautiful and a total breath of fresh air from the massive amount of 2D pixel art games out there these days, but I can't help but feel it would have been so much better with an actual designed map instead of certain areas being procedural generated. Everything starts to feel samey after a while until you unlock a new one of the three environments and move onto there.
My other problem is that you're almost constantly in combat which doesn't leave much room for peaceful exploration which I usually like to do in metroidvanias, the game just dumps enemies on you by the bucketful. That may be a high point for someone with different tastes though. The combat IS fun, theres just way too much of it in my opinion. No room to breathe.

I made one of those and they are disgusting. But I think I used different subclasses. I just remember the synergy varies between good and incredible depending on what level you are. At a certain point you have the extra hits ability and basically unlimited sneak attacks and can just bang out ludicrous damage. Think a soulbound dagger got involved too which basically let me insta kill bosses below 20% hp.

Smash ultimate singleplayer is such a shitshow. It's obvious they put work into it but it's so horribly unbalanced in a variety of ways and just feels like a big waste of time and effort on my end as the player.

Smash and Splatoon 2 are the only games I've ever played where I had to resist the urge to just chuck the console across the room to quit playing, which seems bizarre to me when it's supposed to be a children's console. Maybe because switch games cost so damn much and I feel I have to get something out of it else my money was wasted. I don't think every game needs a Dark Souls / Monster Hunter difficulty level but it sure seems like that's what's popular today.

Tank Queues are good. Not like Stormblood obviously but the max i waited was five minutes and that was at 3am. Gunbreaker didn't really change things too much and its not really as popular as one would think. One change they made is the reward for Duty is a lot better now. you can exchange the reward for end game Materia and those are hot right now so i make a couple millions a week easy.

Finished my first playthrough of Big Hentai Presents Extreme Angler 2: Revelations

It was good but I'm having a hard time bringing myself to play the other routes, I think for me the open world is maybe a drawback in this case, it often felt like a slog. That and I don't think the gameplay is good enough to carry me through the bits I've already seen. And, contrary to one of the reviews I read before buying, I think the camera is fucking annoying and terrible. Still, it does a lot of genuinely cool, surprising things and ultimately managed to worm its way past my deep distaste for delicate anime battle girls who've never heard of pants, so I am hoping to go back at some point.

Things are different now, for the better. Shadowbringers changed the play style of most classes, and its a lot more fun now. Tanks aren't just targets for the monsters, but you actively have to adjust to other players style while doing damage yourself. Paladin isn't about mitigating damage alone but about protecting your allies and you have the utility to do it. For example, Clemency heals you, but if you used it on another player, 50% of the heal you do to your teammate is yours. So your eyes are always on your party, looking for that opportunity. Also if you manage to cover another enemy at the right time, you can return the damage to the boss if you play ig right.

Machinist is fixed, and he's crazy fun. Dragoon is also really flashy and fun. These are some of the most difficult classes but with the highest dps in the game.

Healers are no longer about dps. They made things easier for them, they used to get treated like shit cause their dps wasn't high enough but now they just chill in the background which made it kinda boring.

Story wise, Shadowbringers is the best. The story is fucking amazing, and im kinda surprised how good expansion pack turned out to be. Worth the 30 dollars.

I mained pally all the way up to the end of the second expansion. I don't intend on playing again, but the time i played i enjoyed it.

my favorite classes was pally, summoner, even though i shit on it earlier, it's tool kit was just so fun and dragoon.

nice to see that it's still going strong, still remember release week when i luckly got my physical copy before they had to stop selling them in order to regain control over overpopulation because they were not expecting such a reaction to it's relaunch.

Bloodstorm was kinda shit to be honest. Shadowbringers is a lot better, especially the story. Its hard to explain, but the main focus of the story is the Warrior of Light. I don't really want to spoil it but if the story was ever a part of the game that interested you, you must play it at some point in the future. Otherwise, if you feel you were frustrated with the gameplay in general then not much has changed to invite frustrated players back.

Wipeout Omega Collection. I'm kind of surprised they just throw you into the game without a tutorial or anything, I guess they expect you to have at least played one of them if you picked up the collection. I say that because after watching a beginners guide video theres a lot of little mechanics like barrel rolls and how weapon absorption and stuff like that works, things that are key mechanics to doing well.
This certainly is an interesting racer, you can't just go in expecting it to be like a car racing game. I really love the air brake system, its so unique and lets you whip around corners keeping your speed up.
I started on HD because while lookin for beginners tips I found one that said any new players to the omega collection should start novice on that one then move onto the others switching difficulties afterwards. Its easy but its also letting me get used to the various mechanics
The game is really gorgeous too, I dont know how it looked before it was remastered but every new track I play I'm wowed

Playing this in VR is intense. Worth getting a headset for if you're into it.

Been playing some Skyrim VR again, trying out vampire lord skillset. The gravity gun move is pretty funny but the damage output seems paltry and melee doesn't seem to work very well. Kinda wanna get around to fabricating some sort of sleeve for the move controller that extends it lower and holds both of them so I can do two handed weapons better.

90% of the game is learning to cheese the tracks by gaining and exploiting airtime to swooce over corners and squeeze in extra barrel rolls. anytime your ship goes airborne, note how it happened and remember it, you will be surprised just how often you can get off the ground. the remaining 10% is your skill at blasting someones ass off with a missile during the split-second window when you're too close to miss. zone mode helps a lot at learning how to deal with the tracks, you either get good at turns or you die.

other tips:
wallgrinding opponents and/or landing on them after jumps are fun and useful strategies. do not overlook the sideways shunt, you can tighten turns without losing speed, avoid missing boost pads, and knock opponents around with it.

Particle Fleet : Emergence (it's Creeper World but with spaceships)

>campaign has 16 levels
>no penalty for death until level 16
>new enemy that can instakill from anywhere added on stage 15
>two of them on final stage
>if they ever get to attack you instantly lose

Hm. I get what the game wants me to do, to rollout fast at stage start and stop those things before they charge, but up until this stage there was no time limit for anything, even if your entire fleet wiped you could still recover but on the last stage if your flagship gets hit it's just instantly over.

Pretty sure by the age of 25 anyone who regularly uses a desktop computer has worked their way up to 3 monitors at least one of them much better/worse than the other two.

I just wanna say i adore SWAT 4, but Rainbow six had completely shifted away from its base long before siege. Rainbow Six Vegas was alright, but it was not even close to the older games.

Siege just went totally beyond what the series was, but at least its a fucking great competitive shooter. The gunplay shits on anything similar, and the different operators makes for a nice meta.

That said, we still have Ready or Not to look forward to. Also play Swat 4 with Elite Force mod and use your mic to issue orders to your squad, it completely changes the game in a great way.

while I respect the destructable enviroments and great gunplay of Siege,
there is no true Coop-Campaign, its too easy, its a grinding nightmare, its waay too overprized for a 4 year old game and the latest updates destroyed the netcode and performance.

We'll see what "Ready or Not" has in Store for us, although the released gameplay so far looked buggy and clunky like hell.

I purchased The Way remastered a while back for like 50 cents or some crazy shit when it was on sale and I'm just now getting around to playing it. This game is wonderful, the voice acting is kind of garbage but there's not much dialogue in the game anyways. Other than that it has a great sci-fi atmosphere that feels straight out of an 80s movie, really fun puzzles and an intriguing story.
It reminds me a lot of those older platformers like Heart of Darkness for some reason
And I know there's a huge oversaturation of pixel art graphics these days but somehow this ones style manages to feel unique

Phantom speed class in Wipeout is absolute insanity. Rapier is definitely my favorite because it feels nice and fast but not so fast that you're ping ponging all over the track like in phantom. Even in the time trials and speed laps on phantom its hard for me to control my ship and the actual races are fucking chaos with mines all over the place and rockets going off every 2 seconds. And the AI even seems like its trolling me in the phantom races, always getting in my way or seemingly trying to push me off the track or into the rails, holy shit its aggravating.
Btw fuck Chenghou Project that is the worst goddamn track I have played so far and the one I always have problems with. I had to switch from the Harimau to a ship with better shielding because I would explode two laps in. Seneco climb is pretty bad too.
I'm glad i'm almost done with the HD compaign and can move onto Fury because I was getting pretty tired of the same 10 tracks over and over again

Got into Three Houses. Opinions might differ, but FE is probably tied with Zelda as my favorite series of all time. I've legitimately 100% completed all the previous ones, used everyone in my A-squad at least once each, all supports, etc etc... so when a new one comes out I essentially lose my free time to it till I beat it. Gonna have to do this 4 times with 3H, I guess, but it's a labor of love.

I legit had to put off plowing through 3H due to my wedding and honeymoon, but now that life has settled back to normal, I'mma have some fun. I picked Golden Deer first and my favorites in the house are Raphael, Lysithea, and Lorenz.

The one complaint I kept seeing about this in reviews is the difficulty, what a bunch of fuckin babbys, it's hard but not like impossible and they should have expected a game that looks this brutal to be hard.

Strong but with limited Ammo. Loverboy's ammo is everywhere, probably more then other weapons. I can see the difference in the higher difficulty. You tend to always go back to it during emergencies because you are less likely to waste ammo and you only have one thing to focus on. The gun is a life savior but it doesn't require your skill for it which makes dangerous moments less thrilling.
Is it me or is the game pretty long. I guess the maze like levels are starting to get to me, but the game is exhausting.

Playing some Darkest Dungeon. Always good to head back to the pit every so often.

Ori and the blind forest is coming to switch and I am so fucking ecstatic about that
It's the one game I've always been jealous of xbox players for having
Hopefully this means that they'll eventually put the sequel on there too after it comes out

Putting waaaaayyyyy too much time into Underrail with the new expansion. I'm not sure if it's stockholm syndrome or I'm just feeling spicy, but I'm starting to think it's better than Fallout in a lot of ways, especially with all the updates. There's so much cool shit to stumble across while exploring, great atmosphere, some surprisingly good writing and quest design (although it can be pretty inconsistent there), plus it's super cheap given the sheer amount of content.

Not to say it doesn't suck at times. For example the periodic camp raids in the expansion are pretty dumb thanks to the braindead friendly AI, lack of plot-armor on important characters, and the fact that you spend most of the time waiting for like 20 NPC turns to play out. In fairness I'm not really built for protracted, stand-up fights especially when electrokinesis randomly decides to jump to an ally and turn everyone hostile... but being constantly pestered to either return to camp or trust them to handle it by themselves when you're in the middle of something is incredibly lame

Rad is pretty neat. The soundtrack is bangin, the mutations are cool and there seems to be 50+ different mutations. Graphics are nice to look at. A little on the easy side so far but not bad for 20 bucks if you like roguelite stuff.

Same here, really digging the soundtrack which is surprising because I normally mute games and play my own.
