I disagree, I feel Isaac is a good game but ETG is more polished and has a nicer artstyle not to mention tons of awesome content and not just the same "try to break the game" that isaac tends to be.

Not to mention the piss/poo/blood aesthetic got old when people still had LiveJournals.

Gungeon is slicker. But it's just not as good in terms of gameplay. Not as refined. Isaac feels more like a puzzle game sometimes. Gungeon is definitely more just straight action.

This is an absolutely fucking shit list OP. I'm not even voting for because of the fact this is obviously just your personal list. Why the hell does Elder scrolls get three entries? I've only even played 4 on that list and that's counting Tetris and Deus Ex, which btw you didn't even bother to specify meaning original or not, which also btw was totally overrated.

The fact you didn't even bother mentioning VTMB is a big part of why I can't take you or that list seriously. You didn't mention Kingdom Hearts either, which I've never played but know well enough that it should be on there.
>>740788
Wait this is brazil? Well that explains a lot
nb for that reason
>>740449
I don't loathe it I just think it's always been wildly overrated.

The real problem is it's a dogfucker thread and it's known he has generally shit taste. Kingdom Hearts is one of the one's that's super popular here, and so is Dark Souls and Mortal Kombat iirc. I've not played any of those games either but if I were to make such list I'd at least know to include that.

Personally I think Planescape Torment, Starcraft, and VTMB should be considered too, although in that case those are games I also happen to like a lot and I'm not sure how many people here liked the OG Starcraft or are into Planescape.
>>740450
That doesn't really matter though because you're always going to get a contrarian. I think there are however certain games I think most everyone on here can agree to being good games beloved by just about all except for that one guy. I propose VTMB for that just because I can't imagine anyone actively disliking it and it's one of the few that I think just about everyone has also played by now. Obviously you can't include new hype of the month games either.
>>740454
I don't. I'm not a fan of Bethesda in general.

Dude wtf are you even talking about.

I made that post because "Charon" is a god damned retarded name for a currency, and I'll fucking rant about it RIGHT NOW if you want me to go on about it again.

Some guy posted about Under rail, posted a screenshot that said "it'll be 5 charons to get across" or some shit, and I posted an admittedly dumb post saying how it was a stupid name for a currency.

I can explain my exact reasoning again right now if you'd like, but please hear me out a little. I do enjoy games, I'm not part of this /vg/ thing that's like
>Oh, so you like games huh? Well FUCK YOU I like games too
Like, I'm not a bitter guy, games are doing pretty well according to me, and I'm relaxed enough about it all.

BUT, what I will say, is that sometimes games kinda miss the mark with the naming of certain things...
You ever taken a look at the names of the towns in Mount and Blade? They don't make sense, there's no internal logic going on with them. You look at the names of the locations in something like Lord of the Rings and they just WORK. Because our boy Tolkein was a linguist? Right, he built a convincing world, filled it with races, gave them languages, and the names of the cities and stuff are based off of those languages, etymologically, they make sense. Just like in the real world, ok?
Now google the map for Mount and Blade and check the names out. Someone just picked some shit that sounded vaguely like the language of the cultures that the different nations in Mount and Blade were based off, but they are just retarded sounds, they don't give any impression of having any history behind them.

Now, this isn't exactly what's going on with Charons but it's sort of related. I knew when I made the post that Charon was the ferryman of the Styx, that point was not lost on me. What I do find a bit retarded is how on the nose it is with it. We get it, he gets you across the Styx....Charons....He's the ferryman. I'm no linguist, but in the UK we don't call things god damn Elizabeths. I know that you Americans have "Benjamins" but those are 100 dollar notes right? Are you really gonna hear someone say "that'll be 4 Benjamins for that please"? I hope not, because otherwise you're operating in a country that has a retarded name for a currency.

I don't want to appear like I'm going over the top here, I haven't played under rail yet, I'm sure it's a good game, but having Charon on the coins, calling them Charons, it's just a bit TOO obvious. Tolkein (and oh boy I'm into being proved wrong here) would not have designed the Charon, or filled out a world with names like the ones in Mount and Blade.

Anyway, back to the main point, I made that god damned post (Feb 8th 2016 btw) stating just what I've said here, and my thought is that 1 or 2 other guys starting to force it. I only stepped in myself maybe 3 or 4 other times myself to say "I don't actually hate games guys" and to try reiterate my point a bit better. Every few weeks I would search it to see if people were still posting it, and usually there was a couple of mentions on /vg/ and across other boards, /420/ is the only one I remember for sure right now. I never made any of the content, including pic related.

What didn't happen is your stoned ass listened to "Skorphus's album Dorphus" and they said that word a couple of times. Why you gotta be on the internet telling lies like that? If nothing else I'm kinda into the fact that I've managed to see this thing grow from 1 shitpost into something that someone is now trying to take credit for, at least you admitted you had no proof.

I wasted a minute of my life reading this post and I still don't understand why you're still! so worked up over the name of an incredibly minor detail in a niche, low-budget game. Underrail's lore is not as rigorously consistent as Tolkein's. OK.

If you're just trying to put an end to a "forced meme" (honestly I see it like once every couple months at most, but I guess I'm not actively seeking it out for some reason), writing a giant wall of text about it seems like a good way to achieve the exact opposite of that and/or waste your time. And as we all know... time... is stygian coins

Well, the question is
>what 420chan unanimously likes
>unanimously; without opposition; with the agreement of all people involved
Morrowind is the obvious answer. Anybody here could get bonged up and be amazed at the lore and mood.
There might be games that hit more buttons for some but none that are as universal. Not everybody can enjoy strategy games. You're mixing up your specific personal taste, "the one I liked the most that was mentioned so far", with being the correct choice for something general and agreeable to the whole group.
Your preference for strategy and/or political action games isn't universal.
Getting high on skooma and moon rocks while playing wikipedia clickable links quest and Caius Cosades reminding you of that dad of a friend of yours that were a bit too relaxed at home and always walked around half nude when you were visiting, that is universal.

Of course there is someone that will disagree, still don't think there is any other that will have as high a percentage of approval. Take the FF Tactics you took as example before, you're already in low percentages simply based on how many will have tried it (I assume).

Also yeah I did those, bought the game at release since I was so hyped being a Morrowind fan (but couldn't play until half a year later cause just loading the first dungeon took 10min on the PC we had). I mean I did play the game, just it always felt wrong somehow, off.
Kinda like this I guess, an example, in Morrowind the combat and stuff, yes it is stiff, but you can look past it, add some imagination. But in Oblivion for every hit your combat is doing these super wide and hard swings, shouting at top of lung, char sounds like he's really fighting. But the enemy just stands there and takes it without any reaction whatsoever except maybe an "oof". Every damn battle breaks the immersion.
>>
Bloodmongo McFerguson - Sat, 07 Sep 2019 22:28:17 EST KPChXmhP No.742491 Reply
Maybe a shorter more accurate way to put it,
Morrowind simply just doesn't do some things.
Oblivion does a lot of things in a heavy handed clumsy way, and it's harder to look past something bad than something that simply isn't there.
Well at least for me. Maybe that is the Morrowind/Oblivion preference reagent, if you are more bothered by something being missing or being implemented clumsily.

You can still become semi OP in oblivion. In morrowind I was running around in exquisite constant effect everything giving me something like +20 health per second and +10 fatigue as well as a daedric katana with absorb 40 health on hit. Was essentially immortal.

In oblivion you get level 25 and you can become semi immortal without glitches. The Shield of chorrol doing 35% reflect damage, then the amulet and ring of swords giving 33% each. Then the armor having absorb/resist magic till you get 100%. Only traps and arrows do any damage.

Skyrim. Glitch and cheat. Only way, which is bullshit. The Outsider mod is required playing for skyrim. Gives you teleportation, time freeze, and possession magic. That I can remember.
