Who else here is playing? I'm a little late to the party since my Nintendo Switch got replaced with a new one due to water damage. What house have you picked?

Gonna wait for a discount. Not going to pay 60 for 50% waifu simulator and 50% tactical RPG.

Suit yourself. That dating aspect of the game is blown way out of proportion by those who haven't even played Three Houses.

TBH as someone who would only buy the game for tactical gameplay, I have no interest in any dating mechanics for games that aren't stardew valley or harvest moon- they just don't really fit for me.

Hoping this one goes on sale in the next 6 months, but we all know how stingy nintendo is with their switch title$.

Ive tried to get into Awakening like 4 times, and I just can't. I'm someone who likes other JRPGs and other turn-based strat games, but for some reason this series bores the fuck out of me. Maybe it's the amount of unit micromanaging or the cringeworthy anime dialogue. These seem like objectively good games, but they just aren't for me. I might try to get into it again with this if I can find the complete edition on sale, but that'll be a while.

the overt weebyness plus the relationship cringe make this a no for me

I really like "Fire Emblem" when it came out on the GBA way back in the day but "Sacred Stones" didn't really feel like an overall improvement of the formula, and every game after that just seemed to be worse and worse

I get what you're saying. I prefer the art direction of the older-games too. The new one just looks like everything else.

well theres your problem. try Radiant dawn or the gamecube one. then try 3 houses if you liked it...its more like those two with a whole load of bells and some (slightly gaudy) whistles than the previous two lamentable installments in the series

Would this be a good entrance to the series? I've never played a fire emblem but this looks pretty fun

Fire Emblem games are pretty newcomer friendly, especially the newer ones (starting from Awakening) because you can play on easy and disable perma-death.

If you want a more "pure" experience with just the tactical combat and some light story you should check out the older games.

I bought it and while it's fine and I really like some aspects of it, I can't help but think that Awakening was a much more polished game.

Also this godawful framerate is barely tolerable, units are barely visible and this English VA is dog shit. I like Awakening more. This isn't as amazing as everyone seems to make it out to be.

holy fucking shit I knew they were targeting retarded weebs who just wanna jack off to anime tiddies but jesus fuck I didn't know they straight up dumbed it down to the point of tactics actually being optional

man I'm glad I dropped this series after the GBA games

I'm playing on Hard/Classic. Currently on chapter 14. This difficulty setting is just right for me. It definitely has its moments when the difficulty spikes, and it also isn't unfairly hard either. "Lunatic mode" is also being released soon for faggots who whine about the difficulty. So far I'm enjoying the game as well as playing alongside Punished Dimitri.

UI is shit
Once you secure an area to push all your units into you win the battle
Divine pulse is alright, but you get way too many
Pretty fun though

I love fire emblem(playing shadows of valentia atm) but I find the weeb bullshit hard to tolerate. I found it much more enjoyable when it was subtle and simply opened up extra lines of dialogue in the endings and trying to find the best supports for your units if you wanted to maximize their potential.

My favorite is path of radiance so I don't know how much the series strayed from that formula as I haven't played fates or awakening
