I'm a n00b looking for some game recommendations. I've really gotten into Defiance this past while back but am looking for something similar I can play offline. Basically something with an open world, side quests and in game clock, that you can waste loads of time exploring.

I echo this statement, and would even suggest playing the first two games in the franchise as well. They're all fun, solid games each in their own right.

Other than the standard stuff, maybe Dragon's Dogma or Kingdom Come Deliverance?

'Open world' might be a bit of a stretch with those, but yeah they're absolutely worth playing. The first one requires a lot of tolerance for janky old mechanics, and is definitely an acquired taste (especially to get past the sloggy first section), but overall it's infinitely more interesting than something like Dragon Age, IMO. Not that I don't have fond memories of DAO but god damn does it feel kinda stale and lifeless in retrospect.

I fucking hate the witcher 3. It's so overwhelming with a million different mechanics that all get introduced at once, I hate it

What he said was bull anyways, Witcher 3 takes its sweet ass time introducing each mechanic, which all are pretty basic once you get down to it. The first Witcher is a bit of a bitch to play once you're outside of Kaer Mohen but it's still managed to take more than an hour to explain all the mechanics properly.

I loved The Witcher 1. I loved the humor, the disgusting people in a miserable world, even liked the combat.
For some reason I just can't appreciate The Witcher 2, still have only finished 2/3 of the game in 7 years. The story, combat and graphics are such an improvement, yet something keeps pushing me away and I just don't know why.
I promised myself I wouldn't play The Witcher 3 until I finished 2... I wanna play 3 so baaaaaad.

Just fucking play the game. You still have to go through the DLC and each is at least 30+hours. The story isn't too terribly connected and anyone can pick it up.

Witcher 2 is console bullshit that's why. Witcher 1 was a strictly PC focused game iirc and it was actually pretty easy. 2 was basically focused on the console market which is why you get so many completely pants on head retarded things like now fist fights use WASD because clearly it was meant for whatever the fuck consoles use. It doesnt get better. Every step of the way you get reminded the game was made with consoles in mind including stupid boss fights.

Do you mean... Day/Night cycle?

Also Morrowind. If you haven´t played it yet the answer is always Morrowind.

True. I just wanted to state that they're all great titles.

Filter, report and move on. Do not respond to it.

no u are stupid. the mechanics are easy to understand, I just hate how they introduce them all at once in the tutorial instead of one by one sprinkled along the game. know what, it's not even a problem, i guess I just don't like the game for some reason, fuck you and so forth

The issue may be dietary in nature. I recommend pic related
In all seriousness play Deus Ex if you haven't already. It's not open world but there is plenty of exploring

The console port didn't even come out until a year later, so I don't think that has anything to do with it.

Deus ex (kind of open world but you can't return to old areas)
Mad max (open world, side quests, CARnage)
Morrowind (needs no introduction)
Exiled kingdoms (they mixed diablo and baldur's gate. On mobile and PC)
Dragon Age (recommend you start with origins)

I was about to get it but then I saw it was EA. So instead I decided to mentally take note I should pirate it at some point. Because until I pirate Dragon Age Origins I'm not going to play it. I'm boycotting EA buys entirely.

This is like cleansing your palate with head cheese. The proverbial minty fresh toothpaste before a nice big glass of orange juice. Like, brushing your teeth is healthy and good, but you gotta be real careful with that shit

Zelda 1 on the NES. Often imitated, never duplicated.

After that I'd say Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening, Link to the Past, and Windwaker, in that order. Windwaker would be way higher if that wasn't the game that officially made Zelda into super easy-mode playtime for babies. The atmosphere and art style are completely unforgettable but as a game it just ain't shit. Even Ocarina of Time is more challenging.

Ehhh. After the first dungeon I didn't want to play anymore because I knew there'd be more dungeons and they'd just be even longer than before.

I am just getting into Middle Earth:Shadow or War. Game is awesome and has everything you asked for. And a sweet combat system with a huge amount of upgrades and new moves, tons of items, tons of enemies who all interact with each other and can be Recruited, and a bunch more but everyone should play this game.

From what I gather there was some loot box shit and people didn't like it when it came out in 2017, but that has all changed so I strongly recommend everyone try it even give it another go. You have to play a good amount of the story up to a mission "The Ettin" (or Ettun) in act 2 before you can start recruiting orcs and creating an army. That's when the game gets really good.

Yeah it's gotten better since they dropped the loot box stuff since it was literally pay-to-win, but since they made it like a, you know, a game, it's actually fun
