It hasn't been sufficiently spooky yet, but playing a bit of Alien Isolation and the probably gonna fire up another round of RE4 and SH1.

Not even horror at this point.
Go spook yourself, AC.

Planning on playing an old favorite of mine and a true spooktakular Dead Space but I cant decide which version I should go for. Should I take out the Xbox666 and do it the way it was meant to be played by fumbling my aim using the analog stick and getting mad watching Isaac get torn apart, or should I play it on the PC?

The fuck you talkin bout? Games easy as fuck with a controller. Just cause you cant use an analog stick for shit, doesnt mean thats the way it should be played. If you are going to play, id suggest you play it on shrooms. About 2 grams should be good. You dont want to actually get scared. Its weird but I beat dead space 2 and 3, but I cant remember shit about them. Were they good?

Resident Evil 7 was good. Fatal Frame 1 and 2 were also spooky as fuck, mainly just because the atmosphere. The Evil Within was also good(had a goofy ass story though). Condemned Criminal Origins was also good, the first one was more urban exploration and hobos poppin up out of corners and hitting you with 2x4s creepy. The 2nd one was more supernatural spooky. I cant remember which one it was, but fuck those mannequins. And you cant go wrong with the silent hills(mainly 1-3,never played 4). Eternal Darkness was scary but I havent played it since I was a kid so I dont know if it holds up.

Yeah I've played all of the Classics except for 0 and REmake. Never finished 5 and beyond, but I did make it though RE2make. I need to get 7 as well but I've seen enough of it that I don't feel like I am missing much.

>>744497
How you gonna call Remake non spook and then bust out monster-in-the-closet simulator 2008? Don't get me wrong Dead Space does some good to create atmosphere and suspense, but so often in that game I would just wait for the monster to pop out of the damn vent, and it seemed like there was ALWAYS a monster in that damned vent. I don't think they ever subvert that situation by having the monster attack you from behind while your eyes are trained on that damned vent.

RE0 is ass. RE7 is fully worth playing and anyone who didn’t realize it’s one of the greatest horror games of all time is a dingus.

I figured RE0 was ass, and RE7 while a great looking game that gets back to the roots of the puzzle designed map was spoiled to hell in back watching my buddies play it when it was brand new. Luckily I went out and piratedRE2make as soon as I could. Playing the shit out of both the Saturn and N64 ports of RE2 really made me want to get a hold of RE2make asap, although I was a little disappointed by the B scenarios not being changed as dramatically.

Sven on Steam, it's a free version of Half life with online multiplayer modes.

My favorite mode features a unique zombie campaign mode called They Hunger, it features older weapons like the Tommy Gun and new monsters like severed hands and zombified animals, skeletons, and traditional zombies like the film Night of the Living dead.

Overall it's great for being free and I recommend for it for free half life.

Dead Space is great, I agree that its not terribly difficult especially since the plasma cutter is overpowered but its enthralling. I don't think a horror game needs to be inherently difficult, just disturbing.

Theres some good stuff here but I don't have most of it.

I'll probably wind up replaying Dark Corners of the Earth and trying to slog through Conarium.

Yeah you're right. Dead Space isn't really spooky all that much. I mean, I do enjoy watching Isac get brutalized but am I spooked? Not really.

I need a proper Horror game to enjoy. Never could get into Silent Hill sinceim not particularly into Puzzles but Fatal Frame sounds promising.
You know a game I always though was Spooky even though most people dont think so?
The very first Thief. Its spooky in a way System Shock was Spooky. The spookiness doesn't define it as a game, there are many facets to it, but it legit can get pretty spooky at times. Skeleton man in Red Armor freaked me out so much it made me unplug the PC

I lack a mouse or controller so I can't play a lot of the recommends in this thread. I an going to try lone survivor, and classic system shock with keyboard controls. Maybe system shock 2 w/keyboard aiming?

I cant even get through the tutorial man. This game is just not for me. I can beat Etrian Etrian Odyssey just fine which I would argue is harder than FF3 at certain points. I think if you play enough games you'll run into a game that's just be beat.

I want to play The Witcher 3. The next time I get a chance to, I will. If I know I'm in the same apartment as the game is in with the console and the game I will run straight to the game with no chance of doing another thing. lol I wonder how far I can get into the game with peaceful options. Like, no attacks here. I could maybe get very far here. I may be showing that I know very little about the game in my speech. It's okay. I'll learn about The Witcher 3 soon enough. I'll just inhale information once I start playing. lol

Gonna play some Binding of Isaac after a long, long hiatus.

I hate the stupid fucking aesthetic of poop/piss/blood normally, but at least in October it's more fitting.

>PS+ is putting up outlast 2 for November and not October
What the hell
I mean they put up TLoU for October which I guess you could call a horror game but I wouldn't say it ever scared me. I'm still happy about outlast though I've heard very good things about the series and it will scratch the itch I've been having to almost pick up resident evil 7. I'm still gonna pick it up sometime but now I can play a good first person horror game without having to spend money.
And the other game is Nioh btw

Outlast, Darkwood, L4D2, Dead Island, Dying Light, and probably gonna pirate Agony. Maybe. Dead Space while great feels like it goes, I don't know how to explain it but ultimately more scifi than spooky Halloween feel. SOMA has that same problem.

>>744895
Like this guy right here. Like yeah you can pretty much just put any computer game up for "spooky Halloween with monsters" because just about every single game has something like that. You can play any Fallout game, any fantasy game, whatever. Which is yeah sure okay whatever but it isn't spooky in the right way you know? it's hard to find a game like that. Or like Evil Within 2 is a great example of Halloween horror. Yeah Dark Corners of the Earth is a great spoopy game.
fuck I'm high
