About $500

It's amazing to realize how inexpensive this hobby can be when it keeps you from going out and spending money on the weekends. If I had a way to calculate all my hours of gaming this year it probably evens out to less than a dollar per hour.

I'd say about the same amount. A good chunk of it is Shadowbringers and the ffxiv sup, games I bought on release are few and I regret most of them. It would've been a lot worse if I didnt go full pirate half way through the year. Frankly speaking, I just dont have any more space in my house for this hobby. I could always turn one of the rooms into a game room but that's lame. Gaming should always be done in a bedroom me thinks. Living rooms are for normies.

I pride myself on not buying triple ayyy garbage at full price but then buy 4 indie games on sale at a time and play some for just an hour. So I'm as much of a slave as any.

Probably close to 1000. First half of 2019 is a bit of a blur though so I'm not entirely sure.

I pirate everythin. Games, porn, books, movies, music, you name it. Got 5TB of pirated entertainment on my nas drive. And that's only the stuff I keep. There's plenty of media I consume and then shift+del because it's not worth space in my storage devices

do you even need to include porn in that list? is it considered standard to pay for porn in 2019?

30 bucks on RDR2.

So 30 bucks total. Unless you count the extra 16gb set of ram I bought for like 70 dollars.

I don't play vidya gaymes much anymore.

Do NOT buy a gaming PC this year or in the following 2 years or so. It would be like buying a super high end PC just before the PS3 was released. You're gonna waste a lot of money on a PC that's gonna be destroyed by a console that's about half the price. This is literally the worst time to buy PC parts. Multiplatform games from this gen are gonna run like ASS on the PC, mark my words.

You really think an out of the box console is going to do better than two titans with 32gb ram and an i7? You must be smoking the good shit today. PC benchmarks are what set console benchmarks.

In many ways, yes, because storage speed is gonna be the biggest bottleneck on PC. The I/O on the ps5 is much faster than anything you can buy on PC because it has dedicated accelerators for this purpose. Even if you buy an SSD that's faster than what the ps5 has, it won't perform half as fast as the ps5's ssd because of the lack of a dedicated controller/accelerator thingy. I'm fucking dumb, Linus explains it much better than me: https://youtu.be/4ehDRCE1Z38

That being said, there's no way a ps5 or xbox series X are gonna be able to achieve even half of the ray tracing (or rasterization) performance of the next nvidia and amd graphics cards for PC. Multiplatform games will probably still perform better on very high pcs, but that's because the PC will act as a lowest common denominator this time and devs won't go crazy on the storage speed requirements when making their multiplatform games.

isn't this assuming most games will be developed with that tech in mind? it's not something that will just increase performance in all games because it exists.

>In many ways
You mean in this one very specific way, and for however long it takes for pc to catch up and then overtake and then leave consoles in the dust.

your feet are one of the most important body parts, gotta keep them fresh and nimble while maintaining solid grip.
its just like gaming gloves or a gaming hat or gaming sweater, pretty normal if youre a high level gamer

True, but try holding a controller without feet.
Prettyy difficult, barring some very unfortunate accident.
