It's more like a shared universe, most games take place in the same world but during different time periods.

Gameplay wise 7 is probably the best. I wouldn't recommend this series for the story (although some of them are supposedly pretty decent). If you have some older consoles or decide to emulate them the older games are still worth playing, but the gameplay is generally less refined the further back you go.

I Played the trilogy so it didnt feel too short. The gameplay gets repetitive but it's worth it for the story. Vol 2 is the best, it introduces a lot good characters to the story including best girl.

Yeah I platinumed the game. It was ok but it really comes together in the DLC. Probably way too many hours for you, each DLC adds 30 hours of gameplay. I played it for a long time, since I had to finish it both normal and deathmarch. If you want to platinum the game, play it and finish it on whatever difficulty but start Death March in new game+
This way you get all the intensity of a good fight without the sponge enemies.

Magic in DS1 and 2 is kinda broken in PvE if you specialize towards it, don't know about 3.

Conventional ranged (bows and stuff) is kinda bad and mostly used for utility.

Playing Blood again. I finally got off my ass and downloaded Death Wish, and holy fucking shit, people weren't kidding, the level quality is easily on par with the original game, and in some places absolutely surpasses it. The first secret level Spooky World is the most fucking awesome one so far. There's something just so magical about good Build Engine levels, just this janky portal-based 2.5D engine being used to render real-world locations and letting you blow the fucking hell out of them. I really need to get my hands on Ion Maiden too, although I'm worried my computer might not be able to handle it; it's a toaster and some of the more advanced levels in Death Wish make the poor girl start to chug.

While bored at work I also crunched the numbers for Blood, and it turns out that buying the base game as it is being sold right now gets you 53 levels in total spread across 6 episodes. Add Death Wish to that and you've got 84, and that's not even covering other highly-rated fan level packs. Not only is Blood the finest action game of all time, it's also one of the most dollar-efficient pieces of entertainment that has ever existed. 10 dollars for 84 fucking levels is something you'd never ever get out of modern AAA games. If I had to be trapped on a desert island with only one game, it would be fucking Blood, no question. Holy fuck it's so goddamn good.

Yeah, I'm working my way through it now. Into The Thresher is a fucking hard level, but I guess that's my fault for putting the game on Cero Miedo right away.

These motherfucking things right here. What an asshole enemy design. Can't wait until the game starts introducing them in pitch black underground levels.

I'm actually a lot more interested in Amid Evil but I can't run that shit without it stuttering horribly, and for a brutal retro FPS that's just not gonna work. I'll have a new gaming rig soon but until then at least Dusk runs great. I just wish it didn't take so fucking long to load every time I boot it up.

I dont know if it's just me or the joystick but I remember having a lot less trouble playing this game. It's not difficult, just needs a little time getting used to.

Also maybe I've just been listening to way too much Japanese lately but the dub is way worse than I remember. I wish there was an UnDub version of it somewhere. I mean it's not bad, it's just not the way it was meant to be played. Sigh. And I was really looking forward to getting to know Roll again.

I get that playing this game on a CRT monitor is probably better than my Asus monitor but I wish I could make it look better. Or did it always look this bad?

That was a lot of fun. Game was only difficult during boss fights thanks to all the homing attacks they like to use. Also the Dogs in Old Town gave me more trouble than i like to admit.
Great Story. Both Tron and Roll are totally cuties. I love all the small details. Like all the members of the Bonne family have their own Coffee mugs.

Me and a friend of mine just got into some "Blood Death Wish" co-op on Blood: Fresh Supply. Holy fuck, is it ever fun. I haven't enjoyed co-op this good in a long time.

>we tried extra crispy difficulty with no respawning items and friendly fire, we didnt have the concentration for it, but it was still very challenging. Good if you want to take your time with a 'cautious' style of gameplay.

>Then we tried "well done" difficulty with permanent weapon pickups, my god...so much fun...lots of awesome TNT trick shot kills, exploring for secrets, and a whole lot of funny deaths. There's unlimited lives and checkpoints to unlock, so dying horribly effectively became part of the fun. So much fun to accidentally blow eachother up, fall into lava, getting set on fire, playing "severed-head soccer" too. Amazing. Lots of genuinely freaky moments and level design trickery that threw us some curveballs.

>Episode 2, titled "scar trek" was a great set of levels. Starts out on a ballsy level where you are hopping from car-to-car in this massive convoy of strange cult vehicles (or trains? or some kinda "land-boat"? it was hard to tell) The level ends with you crashing the shit into a Cult-controlled space shuttle launching bay, where you must activate the launch sequence and blast off into space, only to dock at the space vessel "Monstromo" and get into some great alien-inspired level design. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the exit to the secret level inspired by LV-426 from the second alien movie. (I played it a bit on singleplayer, VERY cool) All this "sci-fi" stuff is being depicted with Blood's original assets so it was like a prohibition-era space shuttle with really old tech...it was fucking awesome.

We quit when we got to the level "weird science" but we're gonna get back into it asap. Blood fresh supply is only 11 bucks CAD on steam, and the "Death Wish" map pack is free and designed with Co-op play in mind. I'ma buy it for a few friends and get them in on it, because a Co-op lobby supports like...idk maybe 8-16 players?

Oh yeah...and they updated Blood:Fresh supply for splitscreen. It's fucking wild.

We played a bit of the original first 2 episodes yesterday. 3 random dudes just joined in and played with us a bit and since we had friendly fire on, we were like competing for who would get to the exit first and leaving proximity mines in eachother's paths, just griefing the shit out of eachother as a goof. We were honestly surprised but yeah, I guess there are more blood players than you'd think floating around out there. That's only in "Blood Fresh Supply" not BloodGDX though, because it has a decent matchmaking lobby and ability to invite steam friends. The only drawback is that lots of usermaps are designed for BloodGDX and don't work in Fresh Supply, but luckily the Death Wish map pack is entirely compatible with both.

I've been playing The Suffering: Ties that bind.

First of all, THE PROTAGONIST'S WIFE IS ANNOYING AS HELL. I think this is the first time I hate a videogame character.

For those who doesn't know about the Suffering, Torque, the protagonist, has a spirit guide, which is his deceased wife. She appears in both games, and she is your guardian angel remembering you that you must behave good

From time to time: she starts lecturing me, being condesecending, she hints at what is the right moral choice in a situation, she belittles you for your behaviour when she was alive and now to boot, GODAMMIT she appears every 20 MIN OR SOMETHING ONLY TO OPEN HIS MOUTH AND STARTS BITCHING. FUCK, MAN. LIKE FUCK FUCK FUCK MAN.

Ok. Back to the game. I really like the atmosphere of the game. The first game has a better one, if I can remember correctly, yet, this one doesn't do a bad job. So far one of the must fucked up scenes is the one wich you must help a drug-addict mother to reach her baby in a room... only to show her that he was dead all the time.

Gameplay is fine. I'm playing in hard mode, and it's really challening and fun. So good for the makers of the game. Monsters in this game looks like Silent Hill: Downpour monsters. Only fitting better here

So... besides the annoying wife, to me is a good horror game.

My roommate and I really enjoyed the characters in Skyward Sword back in the day. We voiced them all and made up weird backstories for them, adding a lot of our own dialogue too. Some of the best Zelda characters ever.

I thought the gameplay was the worst of any Zelda I played. May have been the motion plus feeling like a forced gimmick, and I responded negatively. Plus I really didn't like that there wasn't a big world to explore and some repetitive parts.

As for my BWP. I had pretty much quit Mabinogi on PC, moving for the summer and won't have my home consoles. Then I found out there's a Mani Mobile on SE Asia servers. Oh my glorious world of Erinn I am back.

Hmm. I bought Mirrors Edge Catalyst a while back on a whim not knowing it was an open world game, dunno how I feel about that. Part of what made the first game for me was finding the quickest path through the set levels, but if this game dots the map with platformign challenges and races and what not I feel like i'll enjoy that a lot. The combat is more enjoyable right off the bat in this one too. I also see a lot of very tall buildings on the map, if I can climb those I will be a very happy boy

I'm cool with SS being linear, I don't have time to fuck off into a huge overworld for hours backtracking a dozen times over looking for the next plot point these days (though that scene at the pumpkin cafe was amazing I was still directed there via the main plot)

Fi does feel a little excessive but I get why she's there, it doesn't bother me that much. It ties into the game being more linear than usual I suppose.

Playing SS and Master Quest alternating, Ingo is a shithead
He bodyblocked me on the rematch and took the 50 rupees for winning after he lost the first time and of course I hadn't saved in hours so I had to go grind rupees and come back and that time I bodyblocked his dumb ass

Like the other guy said just google it. Weird filter, there must've been a spam bot that used it or something.

There's a surprising amount of people who play it even still, I've long since lost my old account so I started over. Just made 40 (it's your total XP level divided by 10 innit?).

Still haven't really gotten to a point where I'm doing a whole lot with other people, still need a clan and everything, I'm hoping there's more group PvE/PvP later on

I was just gonna go out there in the wilderness alone when I get prayer a bit higher, get all bonged up and start a virtual cult. Only dress in black, fuck stats. All aesthetics, gotta have some of that style pull to get cultists.
Was surprised how easy+cheap it was to get all black plate now with the GE being a thing unlike when I played it "for real" as a teen.
If you wanna join in on the fun, get full black plate and a black wizard hat. All hail the ashen one, long die the ashen one.
Never attack, only defend. Get as high prayer as possible, to still have a chance even with the dress code. Let's start a RS cult.

I think the updated graphics makes it slightly harder to discern targets in the flying levels.

Spyro Trilogy is great except how when I first bought it I played through the first world to completion and went to go to the second world and was greeted by a 'Downloading...' screen at the transition point to the next world that lasted literally days. They didn't give me the whole game when I bought it, they only gave me the first part and I had to get the rest later, and right on the title screen they say they may stop providing those content downloads at any time whenever they feel like it for any reason. (same thing was on Crash Trilogy)

Got to the first real boss in Skyward Sword... I feel his design was not good, or it wanted me to do something I really did not understand. He blocked a good 95% of my attacks and I could only hit him seemingly randomly. My understanding is it wanted you to lead him one way but attack in another, but to quickly move your sword hand usually results in a swing that he would catch, so I figure there was some trick to it I didn't get. I muddled through it at least, hoping the rest of the bosses aren't like he was.

Finished Michiru's route in a 10 hour session last night on Fruit of Grisaia

God damn my heart I cried a bit and fucking loved it. I always get this problem with VNs where after talking in love with one girl it's really tough for me to go back and do other routes. I'm curious about Sachi, but it was too painful to try starting her route knowing Michiru was there waiting for me again.

What a beautiful work of art. I can't wait to try the rest of the trilogy.

I tried to go back and do Sachi's route... I just can't.

Hopefully I'll try the other routes again one day. For now Michiru's happiness is all I need in that game. I've got closure there.

So I started up Higurashi. I wish I hadn't watched so much of the anime adaptation now, but so far it's really cool. I like how the backgrounds are done especially.

I always take a break between visual Novels after I finish a route. I usually have three VNs installed. one of the three heavy on the comedy and ecchi, and I switch between them to keep myself interested.
It's easy to overwhelm yourself when you're trying to play a 30+ hour visual novel.

I just completed The Outer Worlds, I did some side quests too but I pretty much felt like finishing main quest as I wanted to trade it. I feels like a game from around 2008 but not in a good way, its kinda dated, I dont really understand the rave reviews. I didnt dislike it, it just didnt have the depth or feel of New Vegas.

I got Shadow of the Tomb Raider which I know will be good and Far Cry 5 which I dont have any big expectations for cause Im a fan of FC2 and felt everything since has been rubbish in comparison. Saying that Im playing it first, probably wanting to try a better FPS after the last one.

Far Cry 5 is better than I thought so far. I knew the story and dialogue wouldnt be too impressive but the engine and gameplay is decent. Having NPC sidekicks is good like in the 2nd one. After stealing a plane I rescued this thicc lady and drove around then took on the first town. I tossed a molotov and accidently set fire to the church, so its good to have the fire element still in there. After I shot down the plane I was half expecting the black priest to give me malaria pills.

Alright this game is fun as shit I think I might like it more than the first one. The non linearity works in its favor and for someone like me that doesnt usually take to open world games much this ones is just condensed enough
Carving out a path that goes against the given on in dashes is really fun.
and the more movement upgrades you unlock the funner it gets.
The game has a teleport system but why bother. Its nice they included it but I haven't used it once and can't imagine other players use it often when getting around is this fun.
And I feel like he colors arent as blinding as they were in the first one, the whites dont feel like you're staring at a lamp for an hour even though everything still stands out well.

I am happy to hear that youre enjoying yourself. Ive been kinda worried about trying that game.

Right now I'm playing Yakuza Zero after slogging through asscreed II. I feel really good playing a game that's actually interested in entertaining me. Every asscreed I've ever played just leaves me feeling molested and violated. Yakuza is really nice. Only complaint is I couldnt really figure out which version to start with, because the steam titles are kind of confusing. So I went with 0, because its the smallest number.

That's fucking retarded. Unless we all start just cloning ourselves, we are always going to need both men and women. What's changed is that women aren't slaves and objects anymore.

>Bring more emigrants to your nation with a different religion, culture and views
Yeah, borders don't really make sense. It's going to cause some unrest in the beginning, but ignorant people like you will die out soon, and then we can get to understanding everyone better.

>Give power to people with a different sexual orientation, they will grow their aggresive influence
What? You mean now you sometimes see two men kissing on TV or in public? Fuck, that's some crazy amount of influence for the people that were and in many places still are being executed for how and who they love.

>The main point of this whole bullshit is that how degenerated the humanity had become
Translation: I'm not a powerful man in today's age, and I can't deal with the fact that society no longer accepts that men are allowed to be despots on a daily basis. In reality, you choose to build your own life. You can have that family, but you're going to have to find a woman who is willing to act as your slave. Good luck.

The only thing you say that's remotely correct is that open borders and unchecked immigration are dangerous. You need immigration to happen slowly so that cultures can mix naturally. Otherwise it's an oil and water situation, never becoming one and causing a lot of unrest, like a country within a country.

I say this as someone who works with immigrants daily. They don't want to end up in picket communities either. They want to join the culture of the country they are loving in. If you dump several hundred thousand people into a new country they just live together and it takes a long time to integrate. Also, it's not like hundreds of thousands of jobs will suddenly appear for them. Why do you think they bring crime? If you have no job, what are you supposed to do? Even government aid only helps for so long...

Playing Doom 2016 on Ultra to get hyped for Eternal. After taking all that beating from playing Silence of Doom wad, this shit is a cake walk. Two things that bothers me though, the fact that the plasma gun lowers my mouse sensitivity when I'm shooting it, dont know if it's part of the game or my mouse being a shit. Second is the fact that I have to look for the secrets to get a decent build by the end of the game. I wish it wasnt necessary though, I dont want to go through the game relying on the super Shotgun cause I didnt bother collecting the secrets. Also not enough demons but Eternal will fix that.

Its Doom 2016. We all love it. I want to get hyped for Eternal but I really dont want to download Bethesda launcher. How the hell did they manage to make it worse the Epic launcher il never know. I still want to invade other players worlds and show them hell.>>747953

I recommend playing video games instead of responding to morons on the internet

Had to take a break from Ratchet and Clank 2 after falling into a pit at the end of a long autoscroller twice. Sort of frustrated with how spongy enemies are getting towards the end of the game, like the yetis in the ice fields that spawn endlessly in groups of 3+ and take 10 hits to kill. A lot of weapons feel too weak and the strong ones don't have enough ammo.

I'm trying to beat Die Hard on the PC-engine, don't ask me why, it's not good
it controls really smooth and looks great like you'd expect for pc engine but it's just super boring, tens of minutes at a time of wandering through identical hallways fighting 3 enemies with 4 different guns, there's something kind of charming about seeing bruce willis' hyper pixelated face inbetween missions and the stupidity of the adaptation though, and I get a kick out of wading through the nakatomi mangrove swamps to infiltrate the infinite cosmic void inside the tower and fight off the evil FBI helicopter that kidnapped my wife, just like in the movie

also vaguely annoyed this game doesn't have any true steamroller item combos, though certain builds get pretty cheesy towards the end depending on the item choices you get.

one exception to the balance, if you have the shoot-all-ammo-at-once missile launcher and find the infinite missiles for one floor thing, it does infinite damage to the entire screen and you can clear each room with a single button press.

Those Shield zombies really put Doom Rush. Its not that I don't know how to handle them, It's just that i hate doing it. . Every time I see them in the corner of my screen, I "Ugh" pretty hard and go the other way. Same thing with the Pinkies. I don't like the fact that they have armor now. I don't think Demons should have a weak spot besides the head.

I haven't played masterquest in a few years. I like on the 3ds version how it mirrors the world as well. If you know Oot quite well you should try a randomizer.

I'm staying at a hotel with awesome internet compared to my rural garbage at home. My friends are going to love me when I come home with Mortal Kombat 11 which would take at least a week to download back home. A week where you can't do anything else online until it's done. They say MK11 is an awesome game. I hope it lives up to the hype.

Dead Space is still the best though, especially the environmental ones but there are so many good deaths in it.

Depends on who you ask but Persona 5 is regarded by nu persona fans as one of the best in the series.

A good chunk of the game will be spent talking to NPCs and the cast. If I remember correctly it took me more than a 90 hours to finish the game, and half of it was the story and character development. If going to school, getting to know your classmates and socializing doesn't appeal to you then it definitely not the game for you.
The gameplay is a mix of all the Persona games combined in a simplified manner. Overall its a good game to start with if you're interested in the series.

I wouldn't suggest downloading it again just for that. The game absolutely is a long drawn out hide and seek simulator. I love the Alien movies too and was smoking a lot when I played it so wandering around looking at all the 1980s spaceship stuff proved entertaining. Plus that was back on 360 and I didn't have many games at the time it came out.

There are facehugger deaths but seriously if you played the game enough to know it's not for you, you'll get the same joy looking up a few videos of the deaths.

Getting towards the end of Skyward Sword but then

>roll off ledge into pit
>respawn under ledge in midair
>immediately fall back into pit
>pitfalls deal no damage
>repeat falling forever
>forced to reset

Luckily I only lost maybe 20 minutes since my last save and now I know the puzzle solutions so no big

Took a break to play Lost Kingdoms which is pretty fun, knowing how to capture throw from the start is a big advantage but the game gives you enough normally to get by
Only savescummin a little bit, will probably do it harder in 2 to get the good captures

I've never had a Wii U but if you use the wiimote+nunchuk with both then I'd think they're pretty much the same, the motion controls are mostly aiming tools and swinging your sword

I hope you have a motionplus wiimote or the addon and not just a base wiimote cause you'll need that too and those may not be cheap (unless you buy GeneroBrand)

Beat the final boss, was a little shorter than I expected but I chugged 3 full heals and a fairy there when I had used 2 heals and maybe 3 fairies in the entire game up to that battle

Not sure what all carries over into Hero Mode, I see I still have all my bugs and materials which should make early game a lot quicker, but if the only change is you take double damage and enemies have more health, that's gonna get boring fast.

Think I'll just start on Twilight Princess instead, hero mode is keeping my interest just to see what has changed but I get the feeling the text differences will end soon

Been playing Human Fall Flat with my soon-to-be wife. She's not that into vidya in general, only liking top-down Zeldas and point'n'click adventures once in a blue moon, so I'm really happy we found a co-op game we can enjoy together. Weird game in general, as it has this wonderful charm of mostly letting you dick around however you want, and you'll probably stumble across the finish line eventually, no matter where you tried to go/what you tried to do. The controls/physics are sometimes needlessly quirky (or should I say ass), but it'd be easy as tits if it wasn't like that. It's also nice to see how many different things the devs came up with with such a simple formula.

Like 15 euros well spent, would recommend.

Although, I need to get a new controller asap. The stick on my other left joycon is drifting upwards like hell, and I've been unable to fix it via updates, calibration or compressed air. Gonna try some isopropyl tomorrow or so, but not getting my hopes up. Annoying having to spend some twenty-thirty bucks minimum just because Nintendo made shitty ass defective controllers.

Yeah uh... I don't find playing the exact same game but with 1/2 health and no healing particularly fun, especially considering how much rehashing there was the first time around.
It's certainly more challenging but like, not different at all, other than being heavily punishing for any mistake, which is actually the opposite of fun for me, it's not fun.

Lost Kingdoms 2

I like it but it can be very unforgiving and enemy summoners get lots of invincibility frames which makes summoner combat a crapshoot

There's a couple QoL changes from 1 but the main difference is that you can use cards at any time and enemies just spawn in or are wandering around the area instead of random encounter battles and you can use cards at any time

Mask guy in this level pinned me against a wall and chained hits on me, as soon as I stood up I got knocked down again over and over

Yeah, the giant cat enemies irked me too. At first, I thought it was one of the Patron's cat in the game and that's why it's so uncanny valley, but the ugliness just continued to get worse. The Ship section in the beginning looked and played well, but once you're inside the castle things kinda falls apart. It was still ok, by the time you're inside you're having too much fun to drop the game anyways.

I don't know if you're familiar with it, but the Shard system is very close to the Tattoo System in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. It's a solid Castlevania experience. The plot, the gameplay, and the music are great. Still a DS game but if you still want more after Bloodstained i highly suggest it.

It came with NFS Rivals, 2015, and payback, all 3 deluxe editions for 12 bucks. Figured even if I didn't like two of them at least one for 12 is still a pretty good deal.
Rivals had some really annoying cop shit so I dropped it, 2015 had a really cringe story with unskuppable cutscene and the handling was kind of all over the place. Payback is my favorite of the bunch, the handling is really satisfying and I like the desert sunset Vegas vibe.

okay so after playing Skyward Sword I can see why they sort of overcompensated with Fi there after this cause I have no idea what the heck I'm supposed to be doing and I haven't even gotten the slingshot yet

The girl needs the basket, okay, the monkey has the basket, but it looks like I need the slingshot to get the basket from the monkey, but the shopkeeper wants their cat back before they'll sell the slingshot and the cat demands a fish and I need the fishing rod for that and the girl that has the fishing rod is the one that wants the basket so what the fuck game

I shouldn't be having to consult a guide this early on but it turns out there was some platform I missed with more hawk grass, but if I end up having to look at this guide too often I might as well just watch a longplay and save myself the effort

I'm playing Romancing SaGa 3. I liked the entries on GB that came out here as FF games and tried playing an English patch of this before I bought it, I thought it was a confusing mess because of the patch but that's just how this one is. The art is great, peak Squaresoft 90's pixel art with lots of it in the style of FFVI, I think this game was developed at the same time or after. I like it though, it feels a little like the first 2 Fallouts but set in a fantasy world.

Holy shit.

He's hands down the best boss in the series. I also had a great time with the data organization bosses from the Limit Cut episodes. In regards to KH, I'm only invested in super bosses moving forward. The endgame seems to be where this series shines the most. Now I can finally move on from this, which is good considering DOOM Eternal drops tomorrow.

caved and got rimworld. figure if regular society is going to fall apart for a few months i'll just build my own goddamn society for a few hundred hours.

only complaint is the stockpile zone item discrimination needs more precision to account for items of varying decay states. fresh kills need to be in the refrigerated area, truly rotten stuff needs to not be there. you can make a temporary dump zone to force the pawns to move the rotten stuff out but that's annoying.

Giving Metroid Prime on Wii another shot

FPS with the Wiimote is something else. Fortunately there's the lockon function, so you just have to point and lock once to keep a bead on these heavily mobile enemies but the bee hive boss where they circle you and you can't lock until they stop was just awful.

The platforming is actually pretty fun and sometimes you can do some cool stuff, but I don't know if I prefer this over just using a controller. I think MP is a very forgiving FPS, but it's still a challenge.

Disallow rotten stuff in the stockpile zone. The zone can be set to only allow a certain threshold of item decay as well. There should be a dumping stockpile zone with the lower band of the decay threshold outdoors to cover the junk that is cycled out of the primary stockpile zone.

Kinda hate the dodge mechanic in RE3 remake demo. RE2 remake was super tense when a zombie had you cornered and you had to make a choice to expend ammo to stun him and slip by, or dump more ammo and kill him outright. Now you just roll past him?

It's not the exact same mechanic. You don't need to time it, you can just press spacebar at any time and jump well out of the way. You can time it to do a perfect dodge where you roll away and then point your gun at the enemies head. It just feels too easy.

It just feels like we're already back on the path to action-game instead of survival horror, idc if it was in the original or not.

I feel like there's two kinds of gun games on the Wii, ones that treat the wiimote like a lightgun (which does not work) and ones that treat the wiimote like another joystick, which sort of works.

MP is definitely a casual FPS. I'm getting the hang of the controls though, it's just very sensitive, I move my wrist maybe 10 degrees and that takes me from one side of the screen to the other.

Also playing Cabela's African Adventures which is a trip. It's an open world TPS with motion controls and I have the big plastic gun you slot the wiimote into so it's an authentic experience. However... where you aim and where your crosshairs go is not 1:1, so like... it's a cool concept but the execution just doesn't meet expectations. At this point I feel it's either just a limitation of the wii hardware or an incompatibility with my TV size.

I wasted the equivalent of 5 bucks on thief simulator. What a shit game. So much potential, and so many things done right, but so many things done wrong, what the fuck. The game crashes like it's nobody's business on my PC (during loading screens), probably because of the low amount of memory that I have? I only have 8gb of system ram and only 3gb of vram. But anyway, even if the game didn't crash all the time, this game is so souless and asset-flippy, and glitchy, and depressing. The AI is so shit. Seeing through walls and shit, fuck this game. Can't even refund it anymore.

why the fuck are the reviews very positive on steam?

Game has some solid horror elements, the combat and puzzles are great too. The story isn't particularly interesting but that's to be expected of a prequel where you know the outcome anyway. The classic Valve sense of humor is still there though.

I'm using the Rift S btw, you don't need the $1k+ Valve Index to play.

Aladdin Magic Carpet Racer

While it looks like Wipeout, it's actually a lane racer. You turn / accelerate automatically and only have control over which lane you're in and when you use items. Pretty simple, but you can cut the inside of corners to get better times and it has balance board support so it's pretty fun, but there's only 8 tracks and mirror versions which is kind of a bummer and there's obviously not a whole lot of depth to the corridor runner genre.

Courtesy neurolinguistic programming we know using do not/don't is ignored by some parts of the brain.

Rather than saying "don't forget" it's better to say "remember". Because some parts of the brain literally hear "don't forget" as "forget". This is one reason it's so hard to parse multiple negatives. One is already difficult.

Because under what looks like obvious shovelware there might be a cool soundtrack or funny writing or interesting gameplay or something else that makes the game good.

I didn't know it was a lane racer going in, it looked like either a traditional racer with steering or a flight sim of some kind which would have tickled me pretty hard but as is, it's something a kid could play which has it's own place. I don't think I'll play it a whole lot going forward as there's only maybe an hour of content in the game with no apparent rewards or unlockables, but I figured it was a game no one here had heard of or seen before (or maybe that one person that has played it could feel less alone)

Other than that, playing Metroid Prime on Wii and Borderlands 2 VR on PS4. It's been a long time since I played MP so I'm having to figure out where to go all over again which is resulting in a lot of backtracking. Started a Mechromancer in BL2, Anarchy is an interesting mechanic and I got an orange out of the slot machine that's pretty good but I find myself missing a heck of a lot because of it.

Blood is easily one of the hardest FPS games ever made

The Co-Op mode on the "Blood: Fresh Supply" version is dope tho, cant argue with splitscreen support for a good, classic FPS.

Playing through the campaign with lots of players and friendly fire enabled is fun AF, you end up somewhat "competing" with eachother for monster kills and secrets, and everyone starts crawling over eachother to get to the exit first; laying proximity mines and remote detonating charges in the paths of others. Sometimes a massive pitchfork fight breaks out. Reminds me of those old "Gman Squad" videos, just a bunch of goofy players in matching outfits running around killing everyone and eachother; gibs flyin' everywhere.

This game gets a lot of shit but I don't see the big deal. It's a clunky mediocre version of souls but I wouldn't call it bad I'm actually having fun, it's definitely worth the 6 dollars I paid for it and more.
I think the problem is souls fans are picky cunts about their games, and go in expecting every souls like game to be as good as souls or play just like souls, and this is coming from someone who has played and loved every game in the series. But I'm also someone that defends dark souls 2
It's funny actually because lords of the fallen is actually feeling a lot like demons souls in terms of character movement and weight, that and a little bit of the surge which I think the same developers are responsible for.
The voice acting is hilariously bad which adds some charm and I like the environments. It's like trying to pull off dark but not and comes out looking world of warcraft or something along those lines, same with the enemies and bosses. There also seems to be just as much variety in terms of weapons and armor. Taking off some pieces helped a whole lot with the clunkiness, you can get a pretty fast roll in this even though the character still feels like a bag of bricks

So I beat one character story on lvl 3 difficulty, which I think was the hardest mode? Not that it matters, I think it was infinite lives and I died maybe 6 times.

Trying hard not to compare it to Touhou since that's the only other danmaku I really got into. It's certainly easier and I can't help feeling that.

The 3D art is cool. I didn't realize it was a port of an arcade game. Decent amount of replay value but I don't see myself sinking a crazy amount of time in it. Probably going to beat each story once and be done. Took about 30 mins for Kiki's route.

Idk much about the game but it's fun for what it is

Good game, until you get to some of the bosses. A lot of them are just bullet hell in a bad way. You get no opportunity to attack and you're guaranteed to get hit by some things.

I might try to pick it back up soon, but it's just a bit clunky. And not like Demon's Souls clunky, because the controls are pretty smooth. More like they don't exactly have the gameplay mechanics nailed down quite right. I love all the Souls games, but this feels like a hack and slash on realistic difficulty.

It is so tough to not want to compare it to Touhou. They are very very different. Idk, sleeping on it I don't feel like it was an amazing game but I'm sure it has historical significance.

Most of the enemies are monsters from hell. A Halloween motif if you will. Touhou is all shrine maidens and yokai and fairies. Deathsmiles is all zombies, crows, demons and a giant cow.

It's sidescrolling and fast paced. I didn't feel like the game wants me to memorize bullet patterns like a puzzle, so much as work my reflexes to respond to incoming tight spaces. There isn't a way to slow down movement but your hitbox is small.

I do feel like giving it a few runs through everyone's story, and I may end up trying a few other Cave games to compare. The game has stellar reviews everywhere I look so I may be missing something, though I did like it I haven't become a fanatic. And I want more games I can be a fanatic about.

Also fair warning there is some imo cringey forced German words in the middle of the dialogue. Like for no reason Casper just started saying things in German like you usually get with engrish when subs are on. Speaking of which I totally got her name wrong in the first post. Her pet's name is Kiki. How did I even mess that up.

Another thing I noticed, there are high score rankings displayed after you complete the game. I assume these are updated online though Im not so sure on the version I uh got and that's awesome. I think online ranking boards bring a lot of fun competition to the game. Like in PBS it was always cool to see my name rising up a digital board to immortalize my victories.

I am already sold. The watercolor painting-style environmental art looks beautiful. The music is a welcome return to form now that Revo is back on composer duties. The combat is still a great throwback to golden age JRPGs. The battle animations looks good. Random battles have been replaced with enemies you can see in the field.

I'm not personally into anime bitches. Yeah, they're usually high school age. I taught high schoolers in Japan so it's kinda weird that people fetishize them in a way. A lot of the pictures are highly sexualized, unnecessarily. They're just kids. Cool kids, Japanese kids are great. But they're kids.

Anime bitches and purple drank is meanwhile a time-honored meme classic. It never ran its course, showing true staying power

Yeah, so far it looks promising. The environment details look really good. Hitting monsters to initiate battle is also a good move. Random Enemies seem to use brave and default more which I think is a move in the right direction, the system has a lot of promise and more of it the better.

Not sure about the new UI. It looks generic and boring, doesnt come close to how great the UI was in the previous games. I'm not a big fan of Elvis's accent, but they will probably include the Jap voice acting so im not complaining.
What really bothers me is that the chibi style it's so famous for feel diluted. I'm not happy about it, i should expect it since they changed the artist but not to this extent. Not Day one though, i wana make sure they dont censor the shit out of this one too.

So four, im marc kai, stalker kun. How good is bravely default? Because I was turned off initially because the characters have similar chibi models like ff3/4 ds. And I was not a fan, Ive only played ff3/4 ds beacause ive been a FF fan since childhood, especially ff4 snes. But ive beaten ff1-10/12(15 if you count that). How does it compare to final fantasy? Does Bravely Default have a challenge? Or a good story/music? The art is phenomenal though, thats a big selling point for me. Oh and I do play games, you really do have me mistaken for somebody else that was on your friend list or some shit. Maybe I should start namefagging too? Like Chad Warden, or Bobby Bottle Service?

Not Four, so my opinion has value, but Bravely Default is great. It's probably the closest thing you can get to modern SNES-era JRPG experience, only with a lot of great QOL improvements to fix some of the things that made those games a chore (encounter rate options, battle speed settings, attack macros, XP modifiers, etc.). Playing on hard and resisting the urge to over-level is a healthy challenge. The story is pretty standard JRPG fare for most of the game, but there is an excellent twist towards the end that gets very meta, and kind of re-contextualizes the entire game. Lots of likable characters. The main complaint people have with it, is that it can get sort of repetitive about half-way through since to get the true ending you have to re-challenge a lot of the same bosses and backtrack. I didn't mind DQ11 had essentially the same setup which no one really bitched about, but your mileage may vary.

Also the music is absolutely top notch, and it's probably one of my favorite game OSTs of all time, next to the Nier series. It's a masterpiece of symphonic prog metal by a batshit Japanese composer named Revo, and there is an amazing live concert series on YouTube. I'm hype that Revo is back for Bravely Default II. If you don't even play the game, get the OST at least. Peep these:

https://youtu.be/3Nil0qRve4k
https://youtu.be/vOlWeP5t-40
https://youtu.be/finqM-FfbBk

Bravely Second is good too, but it's very much more of the same. Most of the world map is just re-used, and the music was done by a different composer so it was a little disappointing, and felt more like a B-side than a true sequel like Bravely Default II is shaping up as.>>750859

I remember Legend of Dragoon being a lot more fun. I dont mind it, the world is rich with stuff to do and the characters are great but its a little slow. Takes more than three hours to unlock magic, and even then its only when you're transformed so you're back to playing press X fifty times a battle. But il keep playing it, I remember being a huge fan of Rose when I played the game for the first time and every time this character speaks I like her even more.

Brotha that soundtrack is straight heat. Im now mad at myself for not buying this game earlier. Now I didnt listen to the songs you posted because they were the last boss themes, to me last boss themes are like spoilers. Ever since I heard ff7s advent children one winged angel before I actually beat ff7, and it just wasnt as impactful. Like I heard ff6s for the first time when I actually got to the last boss fight and it left such a lasting impression. Now as long as it has a decent challenge, unlike ff3/4ds, which I will always compare bravery default to because of the art style; Ill be happy. Ff3 was super easy, and ff4 was a challenge but not difficult. But maybe because at the time I played those, I had already played alot of shin megami tensei titles.
Now repetitiveness and grinding doesnt bother me at all. Im a fan of the dynasty warriors series, and grind a lot in most games. Ill probably pick it up after im done going through persona 4 again. I was gonna get persona 5 royal. But i dont want to get burnt out on persona. Those for the info homeslice

Last i remember the game is slow. Played when I was like 9 and loved it but never beat it, tried playing it again some time in highschool and I just couldn't get into it because of how slow the combat was, so i stopped playing after like 10 hours. The addition system is cool, but it took me a while to get used to the timing. The music's not great either. The typical battle ending jingle is generic as hell. I also missed a few stardusts you couldn't go back and get, bugged the hell out of me.
But it is a great game. Not a final fantasy killer like how the magazine Tips & Tricks billed it as. I used to own a copy but i let my friend borrow and his brother stole it and a bunch of other of his games and sold it for crack. I think its still on the ps3 classic list though. Ima have to give it another go.

Some of the platformers on the PlayStation 1 were a little too try hard, especially Crash. My go to platformer on the console is definitely Croc. There is something special about this game. The controls aren't like the other, it punishes you hard for rushing things but not enough to game over. It makes sure you take your time doing everything. Once you do, it put you in a relaxed state due to the chill music and the soft animation of a all the characters. Started playing Legend of Dragoon but that game was way to slow, had to play something beside it to keep me going and I completely forgot about it and I'm almost done with Croc now.

( Yugioh 5D's Wheelie Breakers )
I figured this was probably not good but I wanted to try it anyway because I had heard of it and thought it was the dumbest thing, I can't even imagine the show

Pros:
It's Mario Kart but instead of random items you pull cards from your deck you made before the race that work as various powerups / weapons / etc.

Cons:
The controls are poor
The AI cheats
It's very slow to get new cards and you only start with 15 which means you often run out of cards early on
Sometimes you'll get hit and spin 90-180 degrees with no easy way to right yourself
Sometimes you'll get smashed repeatedly by the AI when you have no monster to defend yourself
If you fall behind the AI shows no mercy and short of having a boost card you will not recover

I'm willing to give it a chance as I'm slowly understanding more of how it works as I play, but some of these losses are just for dumb reasons, like starting with half of a shit tier deck and putting you against fully loaded AIs from the get-go

It's just poorly balanced I think but yuhioh was never fair or balanced

Ah man I can't play this trash anymore. It's so unbalanced.

This is the kind of thing that would be cool in multiplayer if everyone had access to a variety of cards to build a deck from, but what it actually gives you is so bad to the point it's not fun to get curbstomped by cheating AI and RNG not giving you the only card you can use to fight back with.

It's an interesting concept and I think there have been other racing games that used the card mechanic somehow but not quite like this, but as is this execution is just poor.

Yugioh was always a cash grab franchise so I don't know what I expected beyond some unique gameplay and it is unique but it's just sloppy at the same time and not enjoyable.

Just so you're aware Mario kart items aren't random.

If you're in the lead you get weak but at least situationally useful items (bananas maybe green shells). If you're way at the back you get big boosts (stars and chain chomps) if you're in the middle you get shells and boosts. Because competitions are over 4 races, usually it roughly evens out and the better player wins. If not you can play again. In PvE I have mixed feelings because that usually works too but occasionally you get robbed entirely. Winning unfairly never feels good. Ironicall no one in second ever gets the blue shell though. That would probably be too good so perversely the person who gets it may just reshuffle the people ahead of them but it's probably better underwhelming than overwhelming.

But that's how it is. Even gaijin scum who have done their time waiting for releases don't get punished in games when it comes to nintendo.

Got MHW free with my new GPU so this week I've been very slowly learning to play. All my friends are series veterans so I've been learning the basics and I still barely know how to use more than 3 weapons at a basic level. The "grind" element is a good chance to test and practice new gear though. Just beat the Pukei Pukei, what a turd. Will go practice using stuff that's not the light bowgun on the boss before and maybe even work up to pukei with it.

Well yes, your placement determines your items in MK but I want to believe you know what I meant in the sense of having more control over what items you're pulling.
In this Yugioh game each AI just pulls the same 4-5 signature cards over and over, like if you were playing MK and AI Bowser got nothing but red shells and bananas regardless of his place.

I also found out there's only like 40 cards even available to buy and you unlock them in the shop one at a time when you win races. I mean, when I saw the other Yugioh game on the GC advertised 4500 different cards I sort of had higher expectations for this one. (even though I know 98% of those cards are trash)

My biggest complaint is just the poor racing controls. There's no drift mechanic and no way to make some corners without bashing the wall or slowing to half speed. If the controls were better it would be far more enjoyable. Second to that, the huge lack of variety. You literally get two monsters to use in your starter deck and only one can actually damage enemies, the other is just a shield. If you summon your one damage dealing monster and it gets slain, you have no more damage output for the rest of the race.

It does have this song which I like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs-1Hg1AUZs so it wasn't all bad.

I feel like most developers don't make bad games on purpose, so I'm usually willing to give anything a try and see what they were trying to achieve, with a little more polish this could have been a pretty cool game, but it's tied to a franchise that's always been a cash grab so...

In other games, puttering through Metroid Prime 2. No idea where I'm supposed to be going so there's even more backtracking than the first one and playing on veteran actually makes enemies threatening so it's interesting. Got whooped by an early boss though since it hit me for 1/5 of my health at a time and I wasn't dodging enough.

( correction: there is a sorta-drift but it is rarely faster than just holding the gas and grinding the wall )
So I read a guide to see if there's something I'm not getting and I gave some recommended strategies a go which trivialized some hard parts but man, the game will still put you in situations where there's just nothing you can do but restart the race because you aren't passing the guy 1/4 of a lap ahead of you spamming a homing projectile backwards.

It seems the only consistent way to win is to either
A. Stay in close second then slam debuffs and turbos at the last 1/4 of the final lap and hope you don't get hit or caught on the enemy's huge hitbox
B. Get out in front with a powerful wide attack and spam it backwards hoping your opponent doesn't have something that will despawn it or kill it

I did beat the story mode (and the B side) which was mildly satisfying since they're all 1v1 matches but there's a 8 man grand prix mode where every AI is a blatant cheater and it's just... no. I don't want this.
I've got a huge list of other games to play and I don't need to spend any more time on it.

I did keep playing it a lot longer than I wanted because I was steadily figuring it out and getting better and unlocking cards but the AI still just cheats and in a racing game that really rubs me the wrong way.

>Atelier Lulua

Dull, unimaginative, and highly predictable. I've always questioned what exactly happened with Gust after the ending of the Atelier Arland Subseries, if they simply have lost their way or I have lost interest in their game.s The truth is, they simply lost their drive. Atelier Lulua is not only one of the weakest Arland sub-Series games I've ever played, Its the weakest in all of them. Someone in Gust decided to go with the safe route, never venturing outside their safe zone, and it produced an incredibly dull experience that only managed to put to sleep time and time again.

I wish it never existed, but I can see now clearly that Gust was merely capitalizing on the nostalgia of the good ol times when their games were innovative and fun. They took risks in their game play, and their stories but you wont find any of that here. All you find is bits and pieces of each subseries within the Atelier Universe, Mashed together in the most uninteresting way, presented to you in Arland coat to bait you into thinking the good times are back.

I find it hard to like this new alchemist, And i very much doubt il ever visit this game again. Not even for a new game+. I regret the 60 hours I wasted on it and I have so many issue with the game that much rather just put it behind and never think of it again.

Only option for me now is to see wither Atelier Ryze is the new stuff I've been looking for or I just try to play the old Atelier games I've been avoiding to play. Atelier Ryze Changed so much that it made a little scared of trying it, but I think now is the time to jump in head first to see what exactly new things they came up with.

I was always interested in the Atelier games, but they always just seemed kinda meh. I had a choice between P3 Fes and Atelier Iris when I was like 14 at Gamestop, and I chose P3, which was a life changer. Are the early Atelier games good? I was considering trying some of the newer games out too

I don't know. I only became a fan with Atelier Rorona on the PS3. I mostly stayed away from them because they were really stressful. Time Managment is a key part of the gameplay, so you're always under pressure to do the best you can under the time available for you. It wasn't forgiving either, Atelier Rorona was notorious. First playthrough is difficult to complete if you didn't have a walkthrough. It was still satisfying when you succeeded on your task, so I got really into it once i started to understand the game and its mechanics.
They remedied this quite a bit with the rerelease of the Atelier Arland Subseries Plus+ games. so if you're interested, try Atelier Rorona Plus first.

You got me curious actually, I'll try to beat the very first one. I miss the whole trial and error progress, the new games hand you everything on a silver plate so you never feel that sense of accomplishment.

"How did we beat this guy as kids?"
We used cheat codes, that's how. The kind of codes that made you hold 10 different buttons on two controllers then gently tip the control stick back and forth until you got audio confirmation that the cheat was accepted.

If you haven't experienced other stories then yeah, JRPGs can have good stories, but once you've played a dozen JRPGs they all blend together. How many ways can you write 'youth saves world by using the power of friendship to kill god'? Apparently a lot of ways.

Completed Life is Strange last night. I liked it a lot, not as much as the 2nd game though.

It felt a little too predictable and the lack of having to commit to any choices for the most part made it less dangerous.

I love the spooky western america town aesthetic. Beside Life is Strange and OxenFree, I really cant think of another game that has both the mystery and location going for it. I need my Twin Peaks fix in gaming and not a lot of them fit the bill.

The revolver from the first game was like my favorite handgun in gaming history, one of the best weapons in multiplayer, a fucking revolver. Could take down dudes in like 3 shots or less depending on where you hit and cost a single loadout point. IIRC there was even a specific perk for revolver only loadouts.
As much as I'm enjoying this they better patch in some goddamn multiplayer eventually

I wouldn't call this game fun, but its definitely interesting. I only just got to part 3, but I like most of the characters in the game. First night in town, and its very easy to get the wrong impression of the residents. Now I wake up every morning, looking forward to hear what the Poet next door has come up with, what my neighbors are doing today, or what my friends are planning for the future. There is something in every character that someone can relate to.

Game captures you attention really well in the beginning, with plenty of stuff to keep you at the edge of your seat. Sadly, It kinda loses momentum with the fourth mission, being largely a run and gun fps game. A lot of the maps two are maze like, only because the texture in the Fort is all very similar, and there are ladders spread about that keeps you running in circles.

Music is still amazing. Its what you would expect from a company like Dreamworks. I was never exposed all that much to FPS games designed specifically for the Console, but im glad I picked it up. It's a new experience for me, seeing how developers try to compensate for the lack of mobility and control of a controller by slowing down enemies, and giving them better AI. The part I love the most about them is when the peak out of corners. If you shoot your gun, while they are peaking, doesn't matter if the bullet hits or not, they'll get spooked and hid behind the corner. Try it again, And they risk taking a shot at the second time. I love it.

It's pretty fun if you like platformers and/or Minecraft-like games

The gameplay loop is just exploring and slaying enemies / gathering materials to get better equipment to slay tougher enemies / gather more materials faster while also gaining various movement and combat abilities. Multiplayer just lets you do those things with other people.

Yeah ok, I have no Idea how to play this game.

I've invested about 10 hours into it so far and I'm still in the starter town. Some of the dungeons are a waste of time, you walk in clear them of all the trash and end up wasting your resources on it cuz there is nothing worth your time in there. I'm not saying I have to get a super special random prize at the exit like Skyrim does, but it's frustrating when there is only one close by.

Haven't ran into any monster who cant one shot me. I made s lot of money
bought the best gear I could find, the beach crab still one shots me. Only thing that helped me progress was stabbing the monster with a poisoned spear, and kite it till it fucking dies. Not exactly fun.

There is a lot of empty space here. Very few resources, spend an hour running around and end up with a few berries worth a couple of silvers. Monsters one shot you, but you waste 30 arrows on them for a reward that's worth little to nothing.

The music is great, one of the very few reason I keep coming back to it. Maybe the game will pick up once I get access to magic but so far it's a bit of an unpolished turd.

God...just copped so many of my old favorites and some that I always wanted with Summer Sale. I'm always years behind the times with games, but its always sooo worth it when summer comes around.

fuckin'
>Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition (this game was a riot back in the day, shoutout to my man Steve Blum)

>FO4 GOTY (thought it was "ok" by itself...but on sale with mods? even better. "Sim Settlements" looks very promising; NPCs oughta defend/build their own damn settlements!)

>Satellite Reign (contemporary "Syndicate" remake, for those cyber-tactical cravings I get after watching GITS SAC)

>Metal Gear Rising: Re-vengeance (heard good things, never gave it a chance. I was never really a "sword guy" but Shadow Warrior 2 changed my tune.)

>Bioshock Collection (really want to play the second, and "Burial at Sea." I LOVE Dieselpunk!)

>Mad Max (Underrated as fuck and probably the only good, official Mad Max game we'll ever get. AMAZING free camera screenshot system. Lots of design similarities to JC2 and Sleeping Dogs)

>Lego Worlds (Reminds me of the cool pre-bankruptcy Lego I had back in the day, instead of the licensed crap they have now.)

>HITMAN 1/2 (loved what I saw in the Hawke's Bay demo: incredibly detailed and replayable)

damn, so much shit to play now, but I'm still tryna complete my playthrough of the Far Cry series...I bought all of em on sale awhile ago. I always thought I was pretty good at FPS games but man...Far Cry 2 has been kicking my ass. It's brutal, lonely, and paranoia-inducing. I know I'm going to miss this game in particular because its designed for multiple playthroughs, and the series gets sillier and sillier with each installment and loses this "grim tone" to a degree.

Still, I have tried them all at least once and I think I'll enjoy them. I'm even gonna play that caveman one everybody hated. Personally I can't wait to get to "Blood Dragon"

I mean far cry 1 wasn't exactly a game that was suppose to be taken super seriously, you fight mutants for fucks sake's. Also the only hard thing I found about FC2 (well not really hard more like annoying) was constantly being ambushed by fuckers in the middle of nowhere and the constantly having to get out of your vehicle and repair it over and over, also the timed malaria mechanics didn't help. That being said even thought the multiplayer was kind of shit I had a blast in Far Cry 2 multiplayer just because of the hilarious and fun custom maps you could play in it.

Oh yeah...I should probably mention I am playing FC2 with the "New Dunia" mod.
Fixes alot of bugs and seems to have helped alot with weird issues related to running it on modern hardware.

I used to hate all the things you mentioned here but then I figured out I was largely playing the game incorrectly. Hoarding diamonds by finding them or doing radio tower assassination missions is a must. You gotta get a decent all-purpose gun with high quality materials/operation manual, the stealth suit upgrade, and the repair speed upgrades asap. However, the more diamonds you possess and collect, the more frequently you are ambushed and harassed by those suited diamond trafficking creeps, and they always seem to catch you by surprise with Mac-10s, explosive Crossbows, and IEDs.

Honestly, if I wasn't looking over my shoulder for these guys constantly and being kept on my toes like that; the driving to-and-from gun stores and objectives would be so painfully boring that I would have stopped playing ages ago. Also New Dunia adds a friendly faction of vigilante villagers that patrol areas and dynamically fight with APR/UFLL. VERY useful to have someone to draw attention away from yourself.

but yeah I do remember trying to play the original version years ago and not being very interested or "gripped" at all. I could be wrong but I think New Dunia adds a much greater amount of foliage and trees and stuff, because this is all looking way prettier than I remember it.

Playing John Romero's Daikatana on Linux and enjoying the hell out of it so far. I'm only on the second level so far. The gameplay is pretty crappy but the levels are great and the game is highly innovative and dripping with soul.

There's a fanmade patch that fixes stuff and allows it to run on Linux. I have not played the original so I don't know how it compares. I did however play the first level unpatched and it was pretty good.

If you ask me it's a highly flawed masterpiece and a must-play for fans of the genre. I only decided to play it because I realized it can't possibly be as bad as people say, and since tons of normies hate it that probably means it's decent. It definitely took some getting used to and doesn't hold you hand.

It almost plays like more of an exploration immersive sim than an FPS. Please check it out!

I finally got around to figuring out how to make money and prepare for long trips. My only complaint is just how much time it takes to get from one point to another. Moving around is suppose to feel like proper traveling but really it's just you pressing W the entire way with the ocassional fleeing from wild chickens.

It's not really good but I can see some people liking it probably the same group that loves shit like Gothic or something. Running head first with your sword drawn is not the right way to go about it. You gotta poison your sword, drink, eat the proper food, plant traps incase you need'em and drop you items somewhere safe before you engage an enemy. It's a little boring. I get a little sleepy sometimes because out of hours I spent playing the games only about 5% of it is actually fighting monsters and bandits.

Also there's hardly any plot here. Cant really immerse myself in it. It's a shallow story with hardly any characters in it. Feels like a polished early access. Definitely not worth the price they're asking for.

Wrong, in this setting it's just obnoxious. This isn't a forum, and you're not even using a tripcode. You just want people to know who you are, which is just weird.

I can change it something else if you want or Would it make you feel better if I used a trip code?

Its not like I'm breaking the rules or anything. Everybody is free to do it. But some people here build up this weird obsession with anyone who dares uses trip that I just can't explain. Four isn't the first trip I used anyways, its just the first one you guys took note of. I've been posting here for a very long time.

I do hope you keep it up

BWP: playing BOTW, this game is great once you get the mods and the editor involved. The increase in durability makes the game much more tolerable. Besides the skins, most other mods are game breaking though so I suggest you avoid them.
Also Linkle mod is pretty cute. It's impressive how immersive it can get. You can even mod it to make everyone refer to you as a girl. I'm doing a Darksouls- like run. Won't increase my health except from the dungeons and only focus on stamina. Evade and parry are essential. It actually kinda turning into a Tenchu-like instead. I'm using distractions and sneak strikes for more. The entire build of Linkle is leaning to that side.

The point is that this self-important need to keep track of your posts on an anonymous chan ultimately defeats the purpose of coming here to begin with.

call me crazy, but I think botw is the weakest Legend of Zelda game in the entire series. It loses a lot of steam after the third Divine beast, and there isn't much appeal to keep playing because you've already done everything. There is what, six types of enemies in the entire world? Not really much.
Bosses are a joke too.
Its replayability is hindered due to all the walking you will inevitably have to do again. I think the other games, even the ones on the Gameboy color, are way better Zelda games than Botw. I'm kinda curious to see what they're going to do with botw2. I hope it's a lot more compact than this one. Maybe having a companion, even turning it into a co op game can make this game a much better experience.

That mod helps a lot with predicting mobs and makes the game look less dated but the issue is it also makes the demon a lot faster. Chaingunners would decimate my health in three seconds.

I guess it can be a challenge for a later date, but im managing just fine with Vanilla Doom Plutonia on Ultra Violence. Maybe im managing a little easily. Ahaha. Man, I'm really bad at this shit. I'd say 50 percent of my deaths are all just me blowing myself up with rockets. Its mostly cuz im trying my best to make it like the original experience so auto aim is on and no mouse Look. Cacodemon above me or a lost soul charging me is what fucks me up. I also lose my patience rather quickly, so I end up taking more risks.

I never really had to learn how to properly use a rocket launcher in small corridors until now. The Super Shotgun is definitely overpowered in Doom 2, but its your go to gun in most engagement in Plutonia. I feel like the sound and the Animation are stuck in my head forever after spending so many hours trying to get this right.

I think I hit a weird bug or something because for some reason, I got Infinite ammo for the BFG and I have no idea why. I looked it up and It doesn't mention anywhere that im suppose to have infinite BFG ammo on these maps. watched some Gameplay on YouTube and no one is taking advantage of that feature. I think I ruined my run for some reason. Weird. Never happened to me before.

>>754526
Well, I don't mind. Just that people are gonna harass you for no good reason so don't take it to heart.

Whenever there is a rerelease of a Persona game, there is usually a method of acquiring skills as an item and teaching them to your favorite Persona. P3P did it and so did Golden. I'm wondering of P5R has that, and if it does, care to explain how it works?

I think I'm beginning to understand why the fanbase are so disappointed with the new one then. It's always difficult when a game series takes a hard turn to another genre for some reason. Imo, its a clear evidence of the dev team running low on ideas rather than actually wanting to do something different. Also taking advantage of the fanbase loyalty to experiment with something new rather than risking a chance on a new IP.
Il probably check it out someday. But in all honestly, I was never a fan of Mario games. Even the ones that are held as the greatest, always felt lukewarm to me. I can judge clearly if a game happens to be a good rpg or not due to all my experience in the genre, so I was looking forward to dissecting the first one. Bummer.

But theres like a museum you can access that has all the artwork and soundtrack. Its pretty cool. In momentos theres stamps you can collect that you can use to multiply money, exp and item drops; its through this little kid named Jose(its pronounced like Jose and the pussy cats). Theres also like orb flowers you can turn into Jose for items.

My issue with it is that it all comes down to managing your ammo, and trying your best to stop the Archvile from reviving the demons. I dont think its exceptionally hard. It just throws a lot of demons at you but still gives you plenty of space to hide and plenty of health.
I just cant seem to stop those bastards from creating a flesh wall around them and I just don't have enough BFG ammo to get it done, not when there is 19 of them. I know I have to rely on Demon Infighting more, but I always mess up either eating a rocket from a Cyberdemon or blowing myself up. I'm just no good with the rocket launcher.

Ever since I graduated from DOOM college of FPS, my Skills in playing this beauty of a game has risen to the roof. No longer do I struggle in maintaining a large group of demons. I cant take on FOUR Cyberdemons with ease. I can feel my skill getting worse the less I play the game, so I want to take this a bit further than Plutonia and enjoy one of my favorite megawads to ever come out for the Doom Platform

Eviternity starts out well enough, and for the first two episode, the game is easy on UV. It doesn't try hard to troll you like Plutonia does, and that made it a lot more fun. I'm just cruising along. It only just gets a bit difficult on third Episode. Its easy to get overwhelmed by the new enemies though. Each one has a pretty decent introduction. I'm ashamed to say the Astral Cacodemon killed me in more than one occasion though. He's quick, and I still don't fully understand his attack pattern. I'l learn him soon enough.

Maybe someday if I keep this up, I'll finish Sunlust. Hehe just kidding.

Still playing this, haven't beat it yet but the story is still really good. I'm not sure but I figure I'm at least 3/4th through the game, maybe more. Really excited to see how the last dungeon turns out, the fucking Nightmares have had me sweating a few times. You can usually avoid them but sometimes they just corner your ass for a good while, this has to be the most stress an RPG has put me through since my first bouts with SMT/Personas.

You can usually grind and save scum your way to safety in those but man the Nightmares thing was a brilliant idea. Even with savescumming it just feels like they're going to wreck your ass and the balance is really good, they're usually pretty tough but not impossible. I'm getting levelled enough now that the bosses are getting easier, but like I said I'm close to the finish and I expect a surprise

So like I stopped playing Doom for a bit, just trying out different fps games and it completely threw me off my game. I'm trying so desperately to come back and I just cant seem to do it. I can understand why people like Decino play Doom nonestop, pulling 10 hours stream onlyu to come back the next day for more. This game is a humbling experience, everytime you think you finally got good at it, you end up getting munched on by a demon.

Yeahhh... As much as it sounds like its my type of game, It's not what I want from a Shantae Game when its so blatant. It's the only Shantae game I haven't bought since the first one on the game boy, and it just feels like with every game released, they get worse a little til we got to this one. Yea, I hear its a good game still, but I just cant stand what they did with the Artstyle. Its just the BOOMER in me who loves the artstyle of the first one so much, and how much of a shy sweetheart Shantae was. I know she still looks good, and her personality is still somewhat intact, but Its just not the same.

i hated the new artstyle until actually playing half genie hero, then it grew on me. the little anime-style renders are animated really well. they look fantastic in motion combined with the mix of 3D terrain and 2D drawn set pieces. ofc i still vastly prefer pixelated sprites, just fits better with the style of game. what kills me, kills i say, is that when you boot either of the last two they open with a loud, piercing theme song sounding like some b-grade animu crap.

my one actual complaint about the latest game is difficulty. every third enemy you hit drops a health restore of some kind, and the overall challenge has lessened noticeably with each title. the series was never hard but there's so many health pickups in this you can practically ignore damage. also seems like they made enemy spacing easier, you have all day to react to things.

This is real good shit right off the bat. I always liked the fighting in Yakuza, everything else not so much. The detective stuff in judgment is really fun and I like how it works like mini games. Tak feels similar to majima with how acrobatic he is in combat and I feel bad for his balls in those tight pants. He's a fun character and the story is pretty engaging.

Its not a no fun allowed consistently serious game, i'd actually say Tak is less serious of a character than Kiryu, but I don't think you're going to be getting Majima dance number levels of silliness in Judgment by what I've seen so far. Theres still humor and a lot of light hearted stuff, one of your main side goals is to make friends in the city

So I recently came into a TON of money and thus now have a MAJOR budget for video games. Since I'm about to finish up the final 3 missions and then the epilogue of Red Dead Redemption 2 tonight, I'll be wanting to get started on something new very soon. What's some dope shit on PS4 rn?

Right now I'm really looking at Judgment, FFVII Remake, Mafia II Remaster, Destroy All Humans! remake, Ghosts of Tsushima, Vampyre, and yeah.

Gotta set a preorder for Cyberpunk 2077 too. Everything I've seen makes it seem like that game will instantly become my favorite video game of all time. Literally head-to-toe it's got everything I would probably ever want in a video game and it also just happens to be my all time favourite setting - gritty metropolitan mega city in the near-yet-distant future of 20XX.

And I might just re-buy games that I used to own but sold after beating them cuz I was desperate for cash. Primarily Wolfenstein II.

Don't just spunk money like a poor person. If you treat it like it all has to run out at the end of the month that becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. I have been there and done that. Unless you have millions, make every dollar count. You'd be surprised how fast you'll spend it if you don't. And I am speaking from experience and regret here. You could be me 10 years ago to within a month.

I just posted them to see if anyone would suggest some games I hadnt considered or had forgotten about.

Really. I'm probably only gonna buy like 2 or 3 (especially since you cant return or sell games bought on the PSN store). Although I might spring for more since a lot of what Im looking at is on sale. Judgement is only like $20 rn.

Diddy is right though, you shouldn't be wasting your money on a heavily marketed newly released game. Especially since you just earned it. I'm sure that RDR2 cost you a pretty penny, and you're already thinking of games that were released this year. Mayhap you should consider playing a game released a year or two before? You will find it for a lot cheaper. Remember, Playstation games are expensive on release, but drop in value as time goes by. You can almost always get them for half price after six months they hit the market. Usually either in stores or on the PlayStation Network. You can still spend it on other stuff. Just think of it as week money.

Whenever you planning on purchasing a new game, try to check it out on https://isthereanydeal.com/ or storeparser.com
You can make an account and it will send you an email whenever things go on sale or drop below the desired amount you're willing to pay for it. No one ever got rich by wasting his money. The last thing you should be doing is opening your wallet. First comes the research, and lots of it, and when you know for sure you will enjoy it, purchase the item. Also don't preorder Cyberpunk. Millions of dollars were spent on its marketing and but the gameplay looks Absymal. Careful not to fall trap the their tactics.

We've gone through the same thing with the Witcher 3. A lot of things were promised and never were delivered. I dont suspect that it will be a bad game, far from it, but there is a long list of things that were supposed to be in the game that they promised but later they hinted on not being in the game anymore.

No one was excited for this game than I am. I was super stoked, a cyberpunk game by CD projekt was a dream come true. The music, the setting, and the gameplay. All look like everything I didnt want. Leta just say for now, I'm cautious.

You see four this is why everyone jokes about you.

The Witcher 3 is tight. I don't know what you expected. It should be on OP's list. I think people overlooked the shortcomings because it was just so damn good. CD Projekt are forgiven for whatever failings. The DLCs are also decent. I mean blood and wine isnt' a DLC really it's more like a downloadable expansion pack. I know you remember when those were a thing.

OP, maybe you'll be smarter than me. I just don't want to see someone making the same mistakes I did. I benefit from that wisdom now, but only after I wasted that money. Even my rig at the time was a big white elephant. I mean it was the fastest gaming machine money could buy off the shelf but it was a piece of crap all the same and I could have spent a third as much and got as much, if not more out of it. If I even helped you save a few dollars then I am glad.

Did I say Witcher 3 was a bad game?

Maybe you didnt follow the development of Witcher 3, but I was just saying they did not deliver on everything they promised. The trailers, and screenshots, it was not everything they said it was going to be. Same shit happening with Cyberpunk, especially with its gameplay and its story. I would say its even more severe, their lies and their baits.

Witcher 3 is a good game, the DLC were both great. Blood and wine being the perfect ending to it. Delivering more than 30 hours of gameplay and improved on its choices and the gameplay. But dont fall for their marketing tactics. You'd think after no man's sky and Fallout76, the customer would be more careful in believing their bullshit but clearly some people are willing to get hyped no matter what.

The Witcher 3 might not have lived up to it's promises but it still managed to not be remotely disappointing and there was that implication.

There are still very few people I trust enough to fork out up front these days, generally studios don't go from churning out a chain of superlative games to garbage in one release, the signs are there even before the games get truly bad. Projekt however have proven that they can make excellent games, not that they it's something they do routinely yet. Some studios you know that their next release will be at least good even if it's their worst in ages.

As an aside credit to Hello Games, they've worked the last 4 years to make right on their promises. They fucked up badly and presumably learned a lesson or ten. No Man's sky was a joke on launch but instead of bailing with the money they put in work. Is it a masterpiece? Fuck no. Does it do the things it implied? Actually it does now.

On the other hand Star Citizen recently announced that they will provide a development roadmap soon. Offering a roadmap to when they could make the roadmap. I laughed.

Well recieved by gamers and reviewers alike. Probably wont go on sale for another six months or so, big movers like it tend to stick to its price capitalizing on the high demand. Still, Suckerpunch studios are one of the very few that sells their game for really cheap. I never bought a game by them that wasn't at least half price. I got first light for like five bucks and its one of the best games I played on the PS4.
You're gonna like the game so you will get your money's worth, probably. But you could always get it for cheaper, though you'll have to wait at least six months. Watch some gameplay, if its just the thing youre looking for, go for it.

I mean, bear in mind that when I say I've recently come into quite a great deal of money (by my standards anyway) and now have a rather massive budget for video games and other toys/sources of fun & entertainment as a result, I don't mean like when Nana slips me something like $50 to $100 in my birthmas card. I mean I have a big beautiful BUDGET, my dudes. A big, beefy T H I C C B O O T Y budget.

Seriously, even after setting aside enough of the money to ensure that ALL of the essentials - rent, bills, food, gas and so forth - would be completely paid for throughout the rest of 2020 (and perhaps even into part of 2021), I am STILL left with a whopping 10,427.00 MOTHER FUCKING DOLLARS to spend at my leisure.

I mean yeah, obviously I'm not gonna blow a wad like that on a bunch of frivolous shit like video games and consoles and stuff like some trust fund twerp who never learned the value of a dollar and has literally never gone without or had to fend for himself. But I'm still gonna treat myself and splurge a little bit. As I've indicated, there are a LOT of games out there that have come out over the years that I've had my eye on but could never buy because I'm typically only able to just barely pay all my bills and keep myself fed and housed and so forth. Rarely, if ever, am I even remotely NEAR this deep in the black. It's a crazy feeling, having that load off, and so naturally I don't want to spoil this opportunity by wasting it all away on frivolous bullshit - toys and accessories and what-have-you. But even so, I certainly do deserve to enjoy myself a bit.

Anyway,.all that annoying rambling preamble to say how much exactly I have, convey that I know what I'm doing when it comes to making the most of the opportunity, and illustrate the fact that I could probably just straight-up buy all the games that I and others have listed here right now and it wouldn't even make a DENT in my budget overall. Which is why I had really kinda listed those games simply to provide a glimpse into my tastes in the hopes that somebody would give me some relevant suggestions that I hadn't considered or thought about or that I had forgotten about or never heard of. The cost is frankly less than important rn tbh. The quality of the gameplay is what matters most.

That really depends if you want to play more RE7 or not, tbh by the end of the game I wasn't craving anything more so I still haven't played the DLC. Recommending RE7 is easy though, especially if you're looking for something that isn't just scary, it has a lot of that classic RE item hunting and management, light puzzle solving, etc. It's really fun even for the non horror stuff. IMO it's a better Resident Evil game than RE4.

I decided to buy it and play it. I Just finished actually. I haven't 100% completed but I don't intend to.

Overall, It is a decent game though kinda forgettable. Just what you would expect from Wayforword when it comes from the Shantae series. It didn't take me long to get adjusted to the new artstyle. Whoever came up with the idea of hiring TRIGGER to do the opening was smart. Definitely helped me adjust to the new look of the game. I know you didn't like it but I kinda did. It really wasn't fitting at all to have it there, but its a good step to kinda accommodate the new change is style. I definitely would've loved if we didn't go through this change, but I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would.

Gameplay wise, I think its one the weakest of the Shantae Games. Definitely a lot easier that the other ones. At some point I just decided not to try and avoid projectiles and just rely on Auto Potions and I didn't even manage to burn through them. Very Generous with the hearts. only a number of enemies to watch out for, those that do a lot of damage.

Dungeons are pretty weak. Not that much fun. And you see a lot of the stuff they did in the previous games make a return here, mostly the puzzles. Most of the bosses are ok, though with full Shampoo, they were easy to kill. I disliked one of them, you have to hit a number of their body parts in sequence to damage them and I just think that was kinda lazy.

Not a lot of variation when it comes the map. Because you're spending most of your time underground in the sunken city, not a lot change in the background and the monsters. sometimes you get like a different variety of that particular monster with a different color that does more damage. Its just not all that interesting.

Voice acting. Kinda unnecessary. Also, writing a line and voicing it, and reusing it multiple times through out the game is lazy. I heard Shantae say she feels like dancing over six times. And the Oju-sama laugh of Risky Boots is real cringe. I don't mind the anime style, but Its better to just leave the Japanese peculiarities of certain Anime Character Archetypes behind.

Eh, I give it a 5/10. Not a bad a game, but not a good one either. It's nice to see they haven't lost their touch, but I wish they would get super ambitious with their next game.

yeah the next one could use an increase in overall difficulty, aka just cut the healing items back a little bit. also hope they go back to transformations. having the animal powers as on-the-fly movement abilities feels great, but the trade off for the current transformation selection, i.e. it just flashes an illustration and makes platforms appear or whatever is a bit lame. i feel like they had plans for that but were short on time or budget.

also, the fucking soundtrack has hit a perfect 10/10 repeatedly now. i was expecting this but i am pleased nonetheless.

Oh yeah, I totally Agree with you. something was definitely planned there but didn't manage to make it in time. Probably short on budget too. Sad, it would've been good. Shantae Shaking her hips is a definite must, but I wish we could get to transform to animals while doing it instead of just using a power. Probably we will be going back to that in the next game

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about the awesome music. Definitely one of the better ones. The problem is, the better songs are stuck in areas where you don't spend a lot of time in them. Like Mountain Travel East and Mountain Travel West.

Two of my favorites

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlkSjd5Tz_A

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9Vk5eOdR9s

Mossy Biome and the Boiler Reminded me a lot of The Mummy Demastered which I don't mind, that game was awesome.

One thing that bothered me is how light her skin is in the game. She's definitely supposed to be browner. We don't get a lot of delicious bedouin brown female characters out there and I don't need them to take away one of my favorite.

I was a little harsh with it. I think upon reflecting on my experience its better than 5. I might just go back and play it again. I was in a hurry to finish.

I played Life Is Strange while it was being released, but only just played through Before The Storm. I'm glad I got through Farewell by the end as well. Playing through and hearing Max's voice took me back to when the game was first getting released, and how nostalgic I was for that point in my life, so I really felt that since of trying to hang on to your past that the episode was all about.

It was only after opening the time capsule when Chloe said she thought her parents would be home by now, that it clicked and I realised what day it was. After that surprise, it really sorta hit me emotionally, and then the next parts after.

Fuck man, I can never get good at Tactical turn based roleplaying games. I just have a hard time adjusting to changes in the battlefield. Add one more character or enemy and i make the dumbest mistakes one after the other. I also hate how long everything takes, and you spend fifteen minutes on one fight only to end up having to restart it cuz a new character had the brilliant idea of poping behind enemy lines and its your mission to save them before they get ganked into oblivion.
God its so frustrating. Tactics Ogre, Final Fantasy Tactics, and now Stella glow. which by all means is a much easier and simpler games than all of them and I still cant fucking handle it. Nope. Im just gonna go back to comfy Etrian Odyssey.

been totally obsessed with a janky little piece of shit called Empyrion - Galacitc Survival - it's just objectively awful in a lot of ways but what it does well it does well enough to make its flaws mostly forgivable. Definitely recommended if you're into space exploration / spaceships / sci-fi, just go in with the expectations you're playing something kind of amateur with awful animations and shitty sound and medicore combat but at least it's got heart and hundreds of hours of content if it hooks you.

even if you don't like the "survival-crafting" genre (I never have) if the spacefaring settings seems appealing to you then you'll probably have some fun with it.

just shed its early access tag after 5 years so.. cautiously optimistic (lol) that it will continue to develop further post-release - "1.0" is still missing some crucial features and TONS polish and has kind of divided the community.

Still worth a $20 I think. Give it a go if you like space.

Excellent game. But they still haven't made ships solid objects while travelling. This means that boarding large vessels to take them over is not an option. In my opinion, the ship battles aren't that interesting. But trying to board an enemy vessel could be a lot of fun, if it worked.

Yeah of all the game's flaws this is one of the more pressing - really neuters multiplayer - and even singleplayer in certain ways because, like you said, you can't board enemy ships - or move around your own while you travel.

Hopefully they find a way to implement it somehow despite any technical obstacles in the way.

Just finished the first half of the game as Ellie. I can't imagine how fucked I would be if opted out of carrying over my stats and weapons. Ammo and resources are more scarce, and enemies are quick to spot you from a distance. So far it's a good playthrough. I've played Survivor mode twice, so by now I know the ins and outs. I'm getting a healthy dose of challenge from this.

My final playthrough will be with the permadeath mode. I'm not sure if I'll do Grounded+ again, though. Most likely. Also, some of the Grounded+ permadeath streams I've been seeing lately have been fun to watch.

an exercise in visual clutter: the game.

really hoping they make the end boss less tanky in multiplayer though. i've spent run after run on monsoon without success. just finished a round that ended with me alone circling and spraying the bastard for 15 minutes straight before my hands cramped up and i got hit. and that didn't even clear his first phase. he's got 3. IMO the fight is actually boring, the difficulty comes from how goddamn long it takes. (compared to the stage bosses which are chaotic and entertaining.)

Because the game is at least 90 hours long. Dont know if you're play the original or Royal but the OG game is 90+. Focus is on getting to know the characters and the interactions between them. If you dont like any of them, then I doubt you'll like the rest of the game.

I still dont know how he did it. I know its possible for like speed running experts, but I let him borrow the game on a thursday(we work M-F, 7-3:30), the next Friday he gave it back saying he beat it. I didnt believe him, so I go over to his spot after work, and yup he had a clear file and everthing. He just really liked the game he said, he couldnt put it down.

P5 is probably one of the easiest Persona game out there. You only got P2 Innocent sin remake on the PSP that was a lot easier than anything else, but that game doesn't compare to the OG game on the PS1. Never played the Eternal Punishment PSP release since it was never localized but im patiently waiting for the fan-translation.

Sounds like he didn't even bother maximizing the social links, did you check his Personal Stats and his social links?
The turn based RPG gameplay is bare-boned, matching element to enemies and winning fight in two to three turns. It doesn't take all that much to play this game. No grinding is necessary whatsoever. It's a good introduction to the series, even if it's not the greatest in my opinion. But I know people who had a real difficult time with Persona Golden when it came out on the PC and they've had an easy time with P5.

I know he maxed out Ann, Ryuji, and the Teacher, His stats were all at least mids, and he was almost level 80. He was playing on normal, but I did give him some advice, like to max out the teacher asap and a couple party members. And for school he just used the internet option, so he got all the answers right. For his 2nd playthrough he did go nice and slow though. I just thought it was weird for a guy completely new to the series to beat it at around 70 hours, in a week, while working a full time job.

Ryuji, Ann, and Miss Kawakami are the easiest to max out. You can max out Ryuji before the second dungeon, and by the time your done with the first one, Ann can be hung out with and you can max her out right after cuz she doesn't have any requirements and you're still limited to a few social interactions. After that, Makoto and all the others require you to have a specific amount of social stat to be able to hang out with them, some you need to pick up specific part time jobs or play at the arcade at a specific time. I can see how someone who is entirely focused on beating the game would ignore all of that.

Still, it doesn't sound like spent a lot of time doing much of anything during that week. He has good taste though. Both Miss Kawakami And Ann are the best. Too bad he ignored the Doctor.

Sounds like he really liked it and spent all his spare time playing the game. He should try playing Persona 4, it will probably be to his liking. Not sure about the others though.

I think he got the doctor , the shogi girl and Futaba and Haru fairly high, I cant remember if he maxed them. I know for sure he maxed the first 3 I mentioned though. Its just amazed me because the only other jrpgs hes really gotten into were the Tales of games, so for him to beat Persona 5(even though its pretty damn easy) in one week is bananas to me.
But yea Ive been trying to get him into Persona ever since I got P3 back in 09. He just always said they looked lame, I tried telling him they're kinda like Pokemon cause he loves Pokemon, but he said naw. Now he finally realizes how good the series is, he platinumed P5R in a little over a month after it came out too.

Hopefully they port P4G onto ps4, thats my favorite one and I know his ass is never going to get a vita or Pc to play it.

>Hopefully they port P4G onto ps4

Hate to break it to you but I don't think that's ever going to happen. The deal they had was for the VITA, not the console, And since they broke free from that deal I don't imagine them ever venturing into another Console exclusive, not after how successful it was for them to release it on the PC. Like, Can you imagine how well it would've turned out for them if they released P5 on steam instead? P5 sold more, ALOT more, internationally than in Japan. If it came out on both the console and the PC, im sure it would've been a better deal. I promise you, P6 is going multi-plat.
They scored big with that release, and they already announced that they are interested in releasing more on that platform. So, if you own a PC, which I know you don't, then Hurray!

Seriously dude, just build a PC already. If I can do it, then so can you. It's not complicated. If Piracy isnt an issue to you, then you legit get every console game ever released on your PC if you got the space for it. I don't have a backlog anymore, because I have thousands of games to pick and choose. You also get to mod them, and there are already plenty of decent mods for P4G. Do it, Taste the freedom.

Also, the aquarium sections in the game stink. This is my third playthrough, and it always gets to me when the game forces you to play fetch with a fucking dog. It's a shame Abby has a few sections that suck, because she's actually a solid character. She shares a lot of similarities with Joel (Part One).

I think it's about all a fan of PSO could ask for, really. All the classes are fleshed out and combat is more than just spamming the same move over and over. I love the variety in the spells and the various photon arts, and especially the implementation of the weak points and hitboxes on everything. Your sword usually has to actually connect with the enemy to make a hit, and depending on where you hit you may deal additional damage which adds a lot of depth to even the easy fights.

That's very unlikely.

I truly loved TNO, my only complaint was that it didn't quite capture the run and gun thing that they were going for, that they aced in Doom. There's a little too much cover shooter DNA in it, and it's really really noticeable in certain sections.

When's the last time you played an FPS on console that had lean, of all things?

This isnt a brilliant game by any means. The dungeon exploration is weak, and the item and the leveling system needed more variety. But good god, the voice acting the music is just top notch. Everytime you think you're getting good at this game, a map comes along and wipes the floor with your face.

Valiant is pretty fun mappack so far, but I reached map09 and I just cant handle the second trap with the two archviles on the elevator platforms. I only died to them three times so far, but every attempt was so pathetic, it makes me wonder why I play games to begin with.

Sigh. still, Its not like I haven't been here before. I remember getting frustrated at traps in Plutonia that I would probably breeze through now. You can always get better, and there are plenty of maps out there to test your skill. But maybe I should stop trying to finish every map with pistolstart and try to just play them episodically like they were meant to.

Been playing a fucking ton of Wasteland 3. Game is great but also super fantastically broken. It seems like you either get minor bugs or your game just straight up resets all of your progress at random.

On the bright side though the soundtrack is so good, there's a cult that worships Ronald Regan, and you can fuck a goat.

I just finished twinsen's little big adventure 2. What a nice game! I started because of childhood nostalgia, but I only played the very beginning as a child. So I stayed for the adventure and puzzles, which were pretty fun, and for the 90's CGI fmvs. Anyone here ever played it too?
