My girlfriend and i are getting a bit into gaming, we would like out some coop games, anything is welcome but bonus points for rpg-style

The "tales" games can work well coop. I played tales of symphonia with 3 other people on gamecube, so emulation is an option if you want to play that.

My ex and I sunk loads of time into Terraria. I think the Switch version has local co-op, otherwise, you'll both need a PC.

Divinity: Orginal Sin sounds like the obvious answer here

This is a good one. Borderlands maybe? Outward? Remnant: From the Ashes is fun.

Are you looking for strictly local co-op, OP? Or would networked co-op PC games work?

I was actually thinking Divinity 2: Original Sin. It has support for that Steam thing with couch co-op over internet with only one account owning a copy. It also has couch co-op.

Secret of Mana, original for SNES (emulation, again) not the Steam version.

Stardew Valley - It's great

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes - defacto girlfriend game.

Plague Inc - casual game with 2 player mode.

Whatever you do avoid Don't Starve Together.

I'd imagine because the game causes arguments if you try to play cooperatively. It's really more suited for a deathmatch style "outsurvive your opponent by using all the resources" type of game.

Baldurs Gate 1 and 2
Icewind Dale 1 and 2

Red Alert 3 has co-op in the campaign.
Almost every RTS can be played co-op vs bots in skirmish matches.

It works pretty well coop but it's a really cruel punishing game and you will have to fail your head against a brick wall repeatedly until you can break through the next unforseen buttfucking. I played with a friend for a while and it was cool but while you might have time to sink dozens of hours into gitting good and your friend might, having both of these overlap is usually a rarer commodity. Couples tend to synch up better but you might still find this sometimes. Dinvinity 1 and 2 were a lot of fun. Tactician was pretty hard going on 2 but we managed it. We did have to cheese a couple of fights. I think the final boss would have taken about 4 or 5 90-120 minute attempts if we hadn't used the green tea on the second try.

Also some relationships are strong enough to thrive on that but even if they're that strong, you both have to actually be into that sort of gameplay. It's not something everyone enjoys.

Gonna second/third/whatever Original Sin and 2, game is fantastic to play with someone who can stay as invested as you

Stardew Valley, Alienation, Killing Floor and Left 4 Dead 2 are all also great
