Is that cool or is that an indication that the remake is in fact just a reskin?

the only games where you should turn off camera motion blur are e-sports games, because cinematic ass AAA games make much more sense with camera motion blur. And there's basically no reason to turn off per-object motion blur. Motion just looks like ass without per object motion blur, unless you have like a 420hz monitor

I have to admit I'm partial to
>easy to learn but hard to master
>your picture is related to one of the most extreme examples
>an 8 year old can spam their way through most of it
>but then the optional post game shit requires strategy, team building, number crunching and cost/benefit, tactics
>the pvp throws in reading the opponent who's trying to read you and does the above
>if you win you'll end up getting tougher opponents until you're winning half the time
>or if you suck you'll lose until you're button mashing with 8 year olds

Or right now I'm enjoying
>unnecessary but immersive ambient detail that shines with the love of its creators

I've started casually playing Go and man do I feel this, a perfect game in some respects, better than chess to me in that you can't just memorize moves and combos and an insane number of possible board positions (like more than atoms in the universe or something), yet there's no special pieces like in chess and the basics of the rules are very simple. And you will never run out of opponents who are better than you.

Fuck that, give me some kind of adjustable difficulty that tells me exactly how the mechanics change at higher difficulties, I don't have time to play your entire fucking game twice unless it's really good.

I dont think Dark Souls have great NG+ content. It's just the same game with harder difficult and you get to pick up the same items to upgrade your weapons of whatever.

Persona has great ng+ content causewhatever personally Stats you gained in the previous games will unlock different conversations and interactions with the other members of the party and the people you meet. There are also optional areas that you can technically explore in the first run, but it's much better if you play it on NG+. All the persona that you created get carried over, and you get to experiment in making an overpowered low level persona and do random stuff with them. The only issue with it is you still have to get through another 90+ hours of story telling and conversations so if you didnt think it was all that interesting the first run through, you wont feel all that motivated to get through a second time.

This keeps me from playing through a first time. You roleplay as a high schooler and have to go to class? How inescapably dull.

Well, its stopped being dull later on with the Persona summoning and the elder gods fucking with humanity but then falls flat on its face for reasons I still dont understand.
But I see your point. Persona 5 is imo, the weakest in the series. Shameless waifubaiting, worse than 3 and 4. Even one of the villains, after getting popular with the female fanbase of the series, got his own dungeon and part in the expanded Royal Edition even though he's an irredeemable prick.
Dregs - Fri, 24 Apr 2020 12:08:32 EST BmETl52y No.751916 Reply
NG+ is an entirely different game in Souls. It's not just harder, they also change enemy positions, add new enemies where there weren't before, add items not in NG, and alter the enemy behaviour. Some of the bosses act completely different in NG+.

I really dont remember any of that stuff, just goes to show just how forgettable the experience was for me. I wasn't a big fan Ds and Ds2 so I finished them and never looked back, but I played the heck out of Demon Souls and Ds3 and I dont remember Ng+ changing monster location, opening covenant for you, or picking up special items. It was just the same but with higher level monster and Souls. You can do quest differently, and join other covenants, but it's not like you couldn't do that in the first run.
I platinumed Ds3 so I'm pretty sure i cleared everything. I tried to platinum Demon Souls but one of the full upgraded weapons required a drop that has like 0.01 chance of dropping and I gave up after days of trying.

Ehhh Persona 3-5 was basically waifu baiting. The great story and combat system was just an add on. As a teenager the games were a hard rpg. Now that im older, the games are easy as fuck with the social links/confidants being the main push to keep on playing on ng+. I think the Tales series has way better new game plus options.

I think it varies depending how much control you have over the numbers. It can be wank but when it's fitted to a system of locational damage and a tonne of loadout options it becomes part of the feedback and gameplay loop. I guess what I'm saying is when it has the "RPG Elements" in terms of being able to make a build. I've been playing terraria and MHW lately and it's useful for both. For something like DOOM 2016 it would be pure wank.
