https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=JC8owhVU0cI

>Activision has announced Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2, a compilation remake of the first two THPS games developed by Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy studio Vicarious Visions, which has a long history with the series.THPS 1 and 2 will be released for PS4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Game Store on September 4, 2020, with preorders offering fans early access to a demo of the iconic Warehouse level. The game is a remake compiling the first two games in the beloved THPS franchise, including all levels (even the secret ones), and IGN spoke with Vicarious Visions studio head Jen Oneal to learn more about what’s new and returning to THPS 1 and 2

>In addition to gameplay tweaks to make the skateboarding itself more modern, THPS 1 and 2 will mark the return of all the hallmark missions — collecting SKATE letters, secret tapes, etc. — from the original games, while also introducing some new challenges.

>THPS will support competitive online play, but the remake will also feature split screen multiplayer for those who want to play with friends locally.

>“Most of the songs made it into the game. There's only a small handful that we just couldn't get the licensing rights for. It's a pretty full soundtrack and you'll get to hear your favorites, like “Guerrilla Radio” is in there, “Superman,” which is kind of like the anthem of THPS, is in there,” she said.

I'm pretty stoked.

That's pretty awesome they're doing a full remake of the first two games and they got most of the music and online multiplayer. Definitely will be getting this.

>>752444
They're probably do a THPS 3 & 4 compilation next if this does well.

FYI: there's a mod for THUG called THUG Pro. It contains all the THPS maps and has online play with a small but active community.

Also, didn't they already remake 1, 2, and 3? Isn't that what the HD re-release was?

There was some remaster type game that came out like 8 or 9 years ago but I think it wasn't necessarily a remaster of the games, just a collection of certain levels from the old games or some shit like that. I didn't play but I remember hearing they fucked it up real bad somehow so almost everyone hated it.

Yeah being that it's going to made by the people who did the Crash trilogy they will probably keep it fairly close to the originals.

One of my hopes is that they keep it more bright and cartoonish; the PS3 games being too dark and muddy to see was a major problem for me

I think 1 & 2 were basically all the same game, but 3 & 4 were upgraded to run on PS2/NGC/XBOX

The trailer is up there if you want to take a look at it. Personally, I like the realistic look of everything. I'm just worried a little about the lighting. They said they won't change too much about the gameplay so at least it will still be the same game, albeit maybe harder like what they did with N.sane Trilogy.

Yep Robomondo dropped the ball on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD and they messed up the scoring system and didn't fix the gravity issues.

To me, 1 + 2 is more of an upgraded remake of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2x, which was an upgraded port of 1 and 2 with five additional levels and other content exclusive to Xbox.

>>752497
It's the same price:

>Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 is priced at $39.99, and a digital deluxe version with “unique content and in-game gear” costs $49.99. A collector's edition will also be available for $99.99, and includes the game's digital deluxe content and a limited-run Birdhouse deck.

Well it's that and four other songs that won't be in the game:

>“B-Boy Document ‘99” by The High & Mighty, featuring Mos Def & Mad Skillz
>“Out With the Old” by Alley Life
>“Cyco Vision” by Suicidal Tendencies
>“Committed” by Unsane

But then again you could just play those songs from Spotify or Amazon Music while you play, at least you can on Xbox One.

>>752650
I get why they went with the Falcon 2 since that's one of Birdhouse's most iconic decks and was out when 1 originally came out. Would have preferred the Falcon 3 or Full Skull 99 though.

You must have it if you think someone's is bad, it's subjective. If people like shit good for them let them enjoy it. It can be as good to them as your shit is to you.

https://culturedvultures.com/tony-hawks-pro-skater-wont-contain-microtransactions-at-launch/

>Vicarious say they want to give players a “complete package” when the game launches in September, with all content unlocked in-game, but that depending on the success and demand for it after the game launches, Vicarious will consider releasing additional DLC for money.

looks like we're gonna get the complete package, and maybe additional DLC if things work out. CTR was pretty much the same and I think it was handled well so I'm hoping they'll keep it up.

You do realize the only reason why Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 was awful because the licensing deal between Tony Hawk and Activision was set to expire at the end of 2015 and the game had a rushed development of only a few months and was then released unfinished and could only be played with a day one patch right?

Not to mention Robomodo isn't involved anymore and that Vicarious Visions, which has had past experience developing the Tony Hawk games on Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS, is now developing 1 + 2.

I was a Grind Session fan myself.

It took the Tony Hawk style controls and instead od going through the levels doing a checklist of chores one run at a time they wanted you to hit all the shit on the checklist in one run. It was a whole hell of a lot harder.

Having the skateboard is a nice pre-order item and certainly good for people that don't have a skateboard and want to skate and for collector's as well.

pic related, I still got this deck after I visited Hawk Clothing's warehouse and got a bunch of free swag.
