I mean so far, I think Watch Dogs Legion looks interesting especially if their play as anyone feature works as intended. Look, Xbox isn't going to have the level of exclusives that PlayStation does but so far I think Microsoft has played their cards right leading up to the Series X launch. Compared to their lead up to the Xbox One launch, it's streets ahead.

Halo Infinite looks fuckin dope though. Switching to an open world concept is interesting and I like how you can use a grappling hook now and having The Banished be the main enemy in the game is a much needed change of pace from The Flood and Prometheans.

>Switching to an open world concept is interesting

Yeah that'd be interesting for sure if it were still 2011. Open world shit is pretty worn out at this point imo. I mean, it's fuckin halo so I'll still play it, but open world doesn't sound like it'll be good for the game.

I'm guessing the whole seeing emotions thing in Tell Me Why is gonna be like the equivalent of time travel in Life is Strange.

Depends on how they execute it, which I'm skeptical about, but as long as I can play as Master Chief again then I'm alright with it. It could be like Halo 3: ODST.

Kinda wish Obsidian would go back to making cRPGs again. I'd love a Tyranny 2. Seems like they're only interested in making Bethesda style RPGs since they got bought by Microsoft.

Here's an update about Halo Infinite:

>With Halo Infinite, 343 Industries is building a platform for the future of Halo and moving away from standalone sequels. Speaking to IGN, 343's Studio Head Chris Lee explained that they envision Halo Infinite as the home of Halo for the next ten years, adding new stories, technical features, and more as it evolves and changes.

>"Halo Infinite is the start of our platform for the future,” Lee said. "We want Infinite to grow over time, versus going to those numbered titles and having all that segmentation that we had before. It's really about creating Halo Infinite as the start of the next ten years for Halo and then building that as we go with our fans and community."

>Lee cautioned that Halo Infinite won't be a live service title and follow the formats of games like Destiny 2. Instead it's just adopting the format 343 Industries has been using with the Halo: The Master Chief Collection, by collecting everything under one name. It will also receive the same type of technical upgrades over time too, with 343 Industries confirming that a ray tracing update will arrive after launch.

That's actually pretty cool if Infinite is going to be updated and expanded like the MCC has been. I wish more games would do this especially all those yearly sports games that come out.

Kinda confused about this honestly. MCC was a collection of older games all for one price or purchased individually. If you buy infinite and they release new content, is it then free for you or what? I would think it would cost money for an expansion, but they specifically say it won't be like Destiny 2. Is there just a word missing there and it was supposed to say it will be like D2?

You don't buy Infinite, you get access to it Via the Game Pass. Microsoft is hell bent into getting you into their eco system and staying there. Funny How Instead of competing with Sony, They decided to get a head start in their competition against Google and Amazon. Smart move on their part.

Xbox X failed already. I'm not a PS Sony-fanboy but Xbox's offerings are meagre compared to PS.

First of all, the console isn't even out yet. Second, you get every game in the show case for a meager 15 dollars a month, not counting all the games in the Xbone and the ones they can get from PC.
The showcase wasn't even interested on the XBox SeX, it's entire focus was on the Gamepass. I don't think Sony with its exclusives can compete with it, not when most Sony exclusives eventually find their way to the PC.

>I don't think Sony with its exclusives can compete with it

As long as those exclusives are better and more numerous than what MS offers they sure can. I'm not saying they will be but that's what it's going to come down to, which console has the best games (for you).
Four - Mon, 27 Jul 2020 06:57:02 EST CAurHlMi No.754805 Reply
That's true but thats only if the exclusives are big enough movers to sell the console. Sony better deliver big enough exclusives for the PS5 to overcome the big advantage the XboX has with its 15 sub exclusives to warrent purchasing its new console. XboX has a decent start, with Halo infinite, Fable, and Stalker 2. Plus everything the XboX one has to offer and the subs.

Actually you can either buy it or access it via Game Pass. I assume what they mean that they're using the same format as the MCC but not utilizing a live service model like Destiny 2 is that you can buy and install the new campaigns (or get them for free if you have Game Pass) but new multiplayer content would be provided as free updates as it has been for Halo 5. I know Infinite is supposed to have microtransactions but no requisition packs, which is Halo 5's version of lootboxes. I think they'll probably go with a similar model recent games have gone by only charging for cosmetic upgrades that can be purchased with real money or with points accumulated in the game.

Halo Infinite's multiplayer is going to be free to play, which would mean Microsoft is changing it so all multiplayer on Xbox will be free. Either Microsoft will either be getting $120 a year from 12 month, $10 Game Pass subscriptions, or $180 a year from 12 month, $15 Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions which will still have the benefit of including Xcloud. Not sure how they'll convert the annual $60 a year Gold subs like I have for that.

>The new console, expected to launch during the 2020 holiday season, includes many new changes like a brand new form factor, faster and larger storage drives for better loading times, updated HDMI 2.1 and USB 3.0 ports, and many more new features.

>One non-change that has seemed to garner a lot of attention from consumers is the fact that Microsoft has decided to continue its practice of poweringcontrollers using AA batteries.

>In an interview with Eurogamer,Jason Ronald, partner director of program management at Xbox stated that "just giving flexibility is the way to please both [sets of] people." He added that "you can use a rechargeable battery pack and it works just like it does on the Elite, [but] it is a separate thing."

I dont understand why they continue to force the rechargeable batteries. They suggest I buy the overpriced "Elite" controller if wanted a rechargeable which almost makes it feel like a scam.

Looks decent. The design is questionable but pricing the Series S and X at $300 and $500 is reasonable given the specs. However, I do question the usage of a proprietary SSD expansion card since this is similar to what Sony did with the PS Vita's memory cards and it ended up hurting them - https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/16/21181854/microsoft-xbox-series-x-expansion-cards-removable-storage-support-features

It's unfair to personally attack when all I did was ask a legitimate question that I wanted other posters' responses with no ill intentions whatsoever. I like discussing video games on here with you guys but there's no need to call me names and insult me like that.

I understand why people are unhappy about the controllers not coming with a rechargeable battery pack, which I do believe that they should come with one rather than being a separate purchase through a Play and Charge Kit as it has been previously with the 360 and One given that the Switch and PS4 have rechargeable battery packs built in. All I was trying to say was that I didn't see any issue with still giving people the option of being able to use AA batteries, not that I was agreeing with Xbox's decision to make rechargeable batteries a separate purchase.

It's a 0% APR for 24 months subject to individual credit approval, which isn't unusual considering the mobile phone industry already does this with their phone contracts and places like Affirm and Klarna are partnered with different retailers that allow customers to pay for products in weekly or monthly installments with interest depending on their credit.

I'd rather pay for it in one lump sum but $24.99/34.99 a month for 24 months with Xbox All Access for Series S and X seems like a good deal for other people that don't want to pay for it all at once. I would imagine Sony would do something similar for the PS5.

considering the pandamic, a lot folks wont qualified for the 0% APR. I can assure you many people have bad credit now. They probably qualify for 19% percent tho.

Arkane is the only dev I would be particularly upset about being exclusive, even then two of the founders left to make another studio so who knows how good their games will be going forward, although I like what I've seen of Deathloop.
Regardless I'm fixing to finally upgrade from the laptop I bought for college in 2013 soon so it makes no difference as long as Microsoft keeps their commitment to releasing all of their shit on PC, which I see no reason why they wouldn't.
