How often do you think people are in a situation where 1) they want to get a new job and 2) they want to mvoe and 3) they cant decide where to move to?

Well I'm developing an app that cross-references a bunch of information for you in order to get an idea of where to go, generating a result like the picture <--

Personally, I've never traveled or had to decide on a city. So can you guys tell me what other cool metrics you'd be interested if you were searching?

Hi,

I currently daily a 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ with the 4 liter and I'm getting a little bit tired of fixing little things and how it rides. It gets death wobble and has about 175k on the odometer and I'm just about done with the vehicle....

That being said because of my experience in high school I've got a huge hard on for GM vehicles and I'm looking for something that has a bed and a V8. I'm a welder so needing to move metal is not uncommon, not only that but if I need to take my welder somewhere having a truck would be very convenient. I want a V8 because I like the way they sound and they are smooth. As far as the MPG's go its not much worse than my jeep in the city and actually would do better on the highway. My jeep gets 16 mpg everywhere.

I really like the 03-06/07classic look and am a fan of the 5.3 engine. I've actually driven one of these and I liked it quite a bit as well.

My Jeep is great for offroading but I don't really take advantage of how capable it is and I'm thinking a 4wd truck would do just fine.

Anybody want to share any opinion on these if they've had any experience with them or Opinions on trucks in general - Chevrolet/GM appreciation thread?

Workaway is the shit. If you're looking to travel on the cheap, the 35 euro yearly fee is completely worth it. I lived/worked on a permaculture project in England and ran the front desk a hostel in Spain while staying for free and getting some food (which is most of your daily costs while long-term travelling.) They also have a ton of opportunities in the states, but I haven't explored that yet.

Seriously, if you want to travel, while saving money, while learning new skills, and while meeting real locals and getting into the culture, get on Workaway and see what's available in the area you want to travel to. Searching the hosts is free

So I just got myself a 2009 Mustang GT/CS, V8. I've never really been into cars or anything like that, but I want to take care of this baby and make it an investment. Any tips on how to keep it healthy and any possible mods that might be worth getting? Of course I understand a lot of mods are simply cosmetic but I would like this thing to be as badass looking as possible. Like I said, I really only know how to change a tire and change my oil, so I'm also looking at this as a possible hobby and an opportunity to learn some useful skills.

Hey

What kind of car should I get?

Just got my settlement check in from a car wreck I was in last year.

Looking at a max of $14,000 to spend on the car.

Looking for a sedan from 2008 or later.

reliability/safety is the main thing.

I kind of want something that won't be completely useless in slightly snowy conditions too but I know sedans aren't the way to go for that sort of thing.

I'd imagine they improved the terrible engines they used to put in them 6-7 years ago? Every mechanic I've ever known used nothing but Japanese cars but said that the Corollas, Civics, Camrys, and Altimas were all with engine problems in years from about 2002-2008. Especially the Camry.

At least you didn't buy a Dodge Charger like every other cunt who is "into cars."

Anyone here got any experience with having helicopter lessons? I live in the UK and looking into getting lessons next year, just wondered if anyone else here had done the same or has a license and can answer a few questions:
Was it worth the money, in your opinion?
Was it easy to organise, like was there a load of bullshit to go through or was it basically get in and go sort of thing?
Also, if you have a licence do you find it easy to find work with it? Thinking about private contracts long term but short term air ambulance work. Is it worthwhile in your opinion?

Looked back a few pages and didn't see a thread on this. Post mechanical problems you're unsure how to diagnose and/or fix and we can try to help each other.

I'll start: A couple of days ago my car started giving off a rattling sound, either in or below the engine block or at least near it. It only starts rattling when I'm maintaining a speed or initially upon deceleration. Doesn't matter what gear I'm in, doesn't make the sound while idle. I'm hoping something minor is loose, but I fear the worst.

my car used to make a rattling sound cause the clutch that engages the ac motor was just a mm off.

sound more like a ringing to me then a rattle. like two plates spinning and touching ever so slightly. the mechanic pointed out ehe fine metal dust to me.

I checked after you brought this up, my suspension is fine.
Turns out it was my radiator support rattling around. I knew it was damaged but not that bad. Months ago some fuckhead was going like 90mph weaving around with nothing tied down to the bed of his truck. A box tumbles out and I'm the lucky bastard who gets to receive it. Managed to avoid a windshield hit but it smashed into the drivers side part of the bumper. I had used zip ties to put the support back up but I guess the damage was more extensive and/or a pothole knocked it loose again.

Also my cv axles were shot and I have an exhaust leak so that could have made the rattle more pronounced.

Just doubled up on zip ties and replaced the axles, will deal with the leak when I can afford it. I'm not getting lungs full of fumes and my car drives fine for now so that can wait

Our 2 desired destinations are München, and Berlin. Kindly help us make the better choice.

You're generally paid to be there, housing and return flights are standard on pretty much any contract where you're hired overseas in a professional position, this usually has a lot do with visa requirements, most countries are not immigration friendly as western europe/north america (in a lot of jurisdictions your employer is your guarantor and on the hook if you get into shenanigans). Going anywhere legally without some in demand-quals (STEM) or having a job a priori isn't possible unless you're backpacking and doing donkey work under the table, paid at local rates (i.e. fuck all)...teaching english and some kinds of hospitality work are viable, especially in Asia, but not what the OP was looking for
