This is the Hiffwe wagon. It's an incredibly unassuming vehicle. I have most of the suspension off a stock 05' STI under it, and it handles like no other 20yo car short of limited run German stuff. I have yet to get stuck anywhere in it.

05 318ci msport. Two point slow four pot with an autotragic. Comfy, looks sexy, gets good mileage but fuck me sideways this thing is slow as molasses. Have it up for sale/trade now, want to switch to a Jap RWD or AWD tarbo. An older model Evo/STi (00-03) or an mk4 Supra maybe.

MK6 GTI, pic was taken the day I came home from the dealership (last year) I was stoked.

Inb4 drop, I'm bagging it spring of 2015 when the snow melts. This summer I got an exhaust and tune and don't really care to make it much quicker because I've lost my license in the past with my last car which was an MK4 GTI, but fully built.

Tried to take down a tree with the fams MK3Golf 1.3 CL at age 15. Everything went worse than expected. Even the standard version is a nice little car though. Lol at that time everyone either drove Escorts or Golfs really. Yuro life. A fan ever since.

BMWs also smell a little weird but I've never really been able to pinpoint what they smell like. Most of them seem to smell like old men which I've attributed that to the owners of the car, not the car itself. Audis on the other hand unmistakably smell like there's an open bag of freeze-dried cat food in the back seat.

Also would you consider a smaller car for errands? if you do give a look to the Sentra B13 Coupé, they're like downsized Crown Vics and the aftermarket for them is bananas.

Quite reliable too and they look alright.

Mazda Protege 5.
First car I've driven that's manual. Fell in love.
Had an oil leak during a 500m journey and the oil indicator never came on. Engine blew before I could get to a shop.
Replaced that shit, and it's running as smooth as ever. Probably gonna drive this bitch till it dies, unless I can find something else in manual that won't rape my bank account (student life is best life).

Only thing that makes mine stand out from any other Protege is the subtle white pin striping that runs the length of both sides.

I don't doubt that there are better cars, or plenty I'd have for the same or less money but the new new beetles are kind of nice, at least the looks. I like the retro styling and the lower profile makes it look a lot less cutesy. I hadn't sen one on the streets in ages, but I ran into one the other day and thought it works IRL.

Yeah tractor seats are pretty dope. I'm sticking with the leather bench seat on my kawasaki tho, comfy asf. I'm thinking of ordering some clubman bars because the stock bars are buckhorns and they goddamned suck. Also wanna get a classic bullet fairing for the front to give me a little bubble to tuck into at speed. New rear sprocket would be nice, too. Hell maybe ultimately even bore out the engine a little, get some performance carbs and a race clutch, ha.

It was sold for five model years and it's rare compared to other cars sold by American marques. That's why I care.

Now, if I saw a Merkur Scorpio, that'd be even better. They were only sold for the last two model years that the Merkur brand existed.

Rebadging is my shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit muhfugga. Take, for example, one of my favorite cars of all time: the Eagle Summit / Dodge Colt wagon. Just a Mitsubishi, but Chrysler must've liked it enough that they decided to rebrand it for US sales.

Well yeah, but they aren't very original. However I've never seen one either (They never been shifted in Europe) so it'd be indeed interesting. A lot of Merkurs are just rebadged euro Fords. Also, as he said >>32854 The Merkur Scorpio is just a rebadged EU Ford Scorpio. btw The Dodge Stealth is a Mitsubishi 3000GT originally. The Dodge Stratus is a Mitsubshi Eclipse. So yeah that's why I don't really find Merkurs interesting cause these aren't their original designs or anything. Oh well

I bought a 1994 Buick LeSabre Limited today for 2 large. It has no rust, 137k miles and change, very clean engine (it has the 3800 series engine in it, one of the best engines GM has ever made) and all the options except for a sun roof. The thing is comfy as hell too, nice soft leather seats, tons of legroom for both front and back seats, ash trays all over the damn thing, the suspension just soaks up the bumps. Brakes are good, and it accelerates decently well for an "old man's car" what with the 200bhp under the hood. Not the best gas mileage and the tank is massive so it costs a lot to fill it up. I put $20 in and barely got half a tank, closer to a third of a tank really.

Still, starts right up, runs quiet, new tires on it, doesn't leak any fluids or oil anywhere. Very clean interior, too. I don't have a pic but hey, it's my first car so I'm excited.

I bought a Miata monday. 1999, 99k miles, stick, service records (like, every fuckin oil change ever) back to 99. Lots of preventative maintenance done and the only rust is tiny bits inside the fenders. I freakin love it, it's such a fun car to drive. It's the first stick I've owned and I've just about got the hang of it. Only complaints so far are the lack of cupholders (I wouldn't consider the one it has a cupholder, it's freakin awful) and that the top wasn't installed correctly and there's a few quirks about it as such. I wonder how this is going to do in the rain and snow. Time will tell.

Nice wagon (that horizontal black line makes me hard). I just now bought a '98 2.2L legacy and I love how it drives. The best part, though, Is that you can sleep in the back pretty comfortably if you fold the seats down. I plan on taking it from Atlanta to Washington when I get out of high school.

most honda and toyota engines (esp 80s and 90s) are good for a million miles if you change the oil when you're supposed to and know how to take care of a car. the body will typically go before the engine that's for sure lol

even the electrics though. like a 1990 accord that still has all the power options working is amazing. and the upholstry holds up too. those manufacturers had something to prove and that's why those cars were so good.

I like older cars because of lower door sills and smaller pillars. I know there are safety issues but modern cars have massive blind spots. makes them stressful to drive. I would say it's a manufacturers incentive though because if you crash it's actually great for them as long as you don't die. so big girder pillars are great for that from both perspectives.

auto transmission fluid(atf) is often used as the chosen hydraulic fluid mainly because it's regulated/stringent enough of a standard to produce a consistent operating fluid. many non-auto applications specify atf for use in hydraulic systems.

it's nice. i bought it for $900s worth. needs a good worth of money dumped into it, generator is on its way out, belts need to be changed, but the engine itself is smooth and pulls nicely, so nothing major, it runs. Suspension is about 70%, these got an independent Citroen-Peugeot suspension on the back, mcpherson in the front. So the rear suspension costs quite a bit to fix, but it's not noticeable in handling, just a little noisy at speed. At the $2000 mark i will have a 98 eurowagon in mint condition. Not a bad deal right? Boot is extreme, and the seats can be folded too. You can make the boot hold up to 1000 litres (512 litre without the seats folded). Idk if this sounds retarded to you guys but here boot size is measured in litres. Huge car inside. Ride is very very comfy like what you'd expect from a french car, in second and third gear it pulls nicely, 0-60mph is about 13sec, not bad for what it is. Holds the road really really well compared to how comfy and old it is, windy roads are actually a joy to be on. Has a custom direct air filter so that helps the revs a little, though its fairly worn out. On the higway about 140kmh (~90mph) is doable for longer periods of time at around 3600rpm in 5th gear, the engine stays quiet even at that speed. Gets 30mpg when driven normally, can squeeze out 35, 20 if you drive it really hard. The engine is well paired with this short ratio transmission with a taller 5th gear, economical and uses its little power very well. Overall I'm happy with it, I think it's gonna run up to 300k kms without any major problems, though there's stuff to be done.

I keep forgetting to take a good picture, so here you go.

'98 Ford Windstar GL photographed in Centralia, Pennsylvania. Its nickname is "The Coastmaster" because of how well it coasts down even the slightest hills. 3.8L V6 engine, power windows and locks, rear climate control and headphone jack, tape player, cruise control... yeah, she's really on the cutting edge of luxury features. It burns through brake rotors like crazy (body is probably too heavy for the Ford Taurus platform), and the replacement hubcaps always fall off, but aside from that it's been pretty reliable. The bottom edges are starting to rust apart, but I'm keeping it as long as I can.

It can seat seven (or eight, if one goes without a seatbelt). However, I find this van much more useful with the rear bench seats removed. It makes a decent small cargo van or camper.

I hope to replace it with something older that has fewer unnecessary features. Any 70s-80s full-size van would be nice, but I don't see myself needing THAT much space. I'd also love something along the lines of the K5 Blazer, International Scout, Jeep Wagoneer... there just aren't many in good condition around here, and I'd feel bad putting an antique SUV through all the snow and road salt.
