Thoughts on these electric scooter rentals?

I understand they’ve been annoying in bigger cities where you already have density and a lot of transportation options. But I think they’re awesome for mid-large cities and suburbs where everyone’s so dependent on cars.

thats not true if you think about it. people in the burbs have to have cars because thats how they get in the inner city. they walk to the suburb supermarket. this cant solve that so they'd still be just as dependent.

Never heard of anyone walking to a suburban supermarket in my life, they all have huge parking lots.
At least in America. Other countries are laid out a lot different than the US.
Here, the suburbs are almost intentionally designed to inhibit pedestrianism.

We're also bigger than Europe. Places aren't exactly close together unless you're in a very small town.

They're a plague in southern california, check out the instagram account birdgraveyard to see how californians really feel about this phenomenon. Its basically gentrification of our sidewalks.

Something small to help out the scooter is alright. I got a small hike from the train station to work and just looked into it and got a Boosted Board V1 Electric Skateboard. Maybe now I can get some skateboard gear? have some fun going to/from work. I got the board second hand, almost new condition for less than half the price new. The battery is only an hour change, 2000w motor, I have an incline one way. They say 10,000 charges and the battery is in 80% condition. The board is going to last. This is going to be cool..

>>35879 sorry just looked it up the battery lasts for about 2000 cycles. Does anyone know if that means a full charge cycle? or what about partial charges? Could you extend the battery life by charging it only from say, 30%-80%?

A full cycle is every time you recharge your battery to full charge after using it. Charging batteries after using 10-20-30-100% etc. Will not prolong battery life.

Partial charges are not recommended.

Try getting a replacement for your battery pack before it claps out to avoid wasting time later. Also if you plan to make small electric vehicles a part of your life look into a Battery Balance Charger/Discharger, they're quite handy for revitalizing batteries and a must if you feel like making your own battery packs (via laptop battery prospecting also you'd need a battery spot welder).

CHeck this vid for more info about batteries https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2sBhDxmPmA p. good eh.
