After yesterday's awful show it is important to note that WATCHING AEW IS THE ONLY THING THAT WILL KILL WWE. Don't be fooled by "both sides are the same" bullcrap that leaking toilet bowl chaos agents spread in order to make up that "third option" fallacy. Watching wrestling shows that fetishize their female roster (Impact, lucha), employs islamophobic sexist homophobes (MLW, NWA), are straight up child p*rnography (any joshicon promotion) or simply refuse to have a women's division against all logic (NJPW) is never going to kill WWE. AEW is the only promotion with that tool, they provide comfort and escapism to those suffering in post-Nick Gage America with beautiful talent like Sonny Kiss and Nyla Rose. Not watching AEW is like being a centrist, you actively support WWE's institutionalized colonialism and just want to shit on AEW. WWE is Alt Right while AEW is Antifa. And yes, wrestling is politics you fucking babies.

A lot of news coming your way in this week's thread, so let's get this posted!

> The Wednesday night wars began with two very strong but contrasting shows. Perhaps the surprise, and perhaps not, is that it was the AEW show that felt more like the WWE and it was the NXT show that felt more like a strong territorial show with very good wrestling, a hot crowd, but an overall minor league feel. If you’re looking for a time, it was 72 minutes before my first text from someone in WWE that, “We’ve got to get out of this building.”

> AEW had more emotion and momentum. Going in, you knew that the difference between 14,129 attendance (11,500 paid, and there were empty seats because scalpers bought so many tickets and couldn’t unload them at the end) at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, and 400 equally enthusiastic fans at Full Sail University would give one side the edge. But the production difference was staggering. If you were flipping back-and-forth, one side looked more major league and for the most part, felt like it had bigger stars.

> That said, NXT won the battle of the match quality and clearly had the match of the night with Adam Cole’s NXT title defense over Matt Riddle. It just felt like all the late hype on TBS and TNT, and last day media made AEW the event of the night. The strong rating for the preview show the night before probably kicked that off, because Cody in particular, the star of that show, came off so strong as a personality.

> The night when it came to ratings was a big win for AEW, drawing 1,409,000 viewers to 891,000 for NXT. More important, because for the stations themselves, this battle was about the 18-49 demo, where AEW placed second for the night behind only the Major League Baseball Wildcard game that did a 1.03 in the demo and 3,969,000 total viewers. AEW did a 0.68 rating and 878,000 viewers in 18-49 while NXT did a 0.32 rating and 414,000 viewers. The big key is that while NXT had spent two weeks building up this show with essentially a Takeover card with three title matches, advertised limited commercials, did screen-in-screen during breaks, and did a nine minute overrun, their audience declined 11.4 percent from last week.

> But in the 18-49 demo, the audience was identical to last week. Now, obviously NXT had a better and more heavily promoted show and it should have increased in the demo rather than stayed even, so the competition did hurt. But the story was that for the most part, AEW drew some, but not a lot of viewers away from NXT, and it confirmed a few things. One is most of the AEW fan base was not a WWE fan base, as all studies of PPV buys up to this point had indicated. Although they very well may be heavily lapsed former fans. The other is that there are far more potential wrestling fans than people realized who are not WWE fans.

> Another factor is that when you add the replay number, which we don’t have officially at this point but was around 650,000 viewers, that the total AEW viewers were not too far behind a typical Raw, and pretty much identical to what Smackdown had been doing on Tuesdays on USA.

> It also appears strongly that WWE going out and rushing into getting the two week jump probably backfired. NXT has declined significantly both weeks. If they had opened with this week as a loaded show, the newness would have done significantly better. Another aspect is the quick replay, on Thursday night on the WWE Network, probably does them no good. But at the same time, AEW had a replay at 10 p.m. that night, available in 90 million homes instead of 1.2 million U.S. homes the …

WWE doesn't give a shit about Cain's health. They wanted something to pop the FOX ratings.

They wouldn't wait for him to have knee surgery before letting him wrestle, because by the time that he gets somewhat healthy again, he might not want to be a Superhero Luchador anymore and get back into MMA.

>Awareness keeps it in the public eye, helps spread information on early warning signs/symptoms, and helps boost donations for a period of time.

See also: ALS and the Ice Bucket Challenge, which raised a shitload of money for ALS research that (if I recall right) eventually led to a legit breakthrough or two in said research.

Awareness campaigns and charity drives are all well and good, but the trick is to partner with groups that won't spend all the money taken in on overhead/themselves. SGK does pretty much exactly that, with only a small fraction of the donations they receive each year going towards breast cancer research.

To my knowledge, no.

>What on earth is with Lashley and Lana?
Last week's RAW undoubtedly left a whole lot of confusion. Bobby Lashley returned from injury during Rusev's match against Seth Rollins. When he came out, he also introduced Rusev's wife Lana, who held his hand and made out with him for an uncomfortably long period. This was the big talk despite The Fiend appearing moments afterward and fans were left perplexed as to what they witnessed. We still are perplexed about it, but hopefully, we get some answers soon. We wonder if this has anything to do with Mike and Maria Kanellis. Maria revealed Rusev to be the father of her child but last week admitted that it wasn't true. But what is Lana's motive and why did she pair with Bobby Lashley and kiss him? Rusev and Seth Rollins are now aligned as they're both on Team Hogan for the upcoming Crown Jewel match. Where does Lashley fit into all of this and will we get an explanation for the shocking finale of RAW last week?

>Tyson Fury to be given an open mic to confront Braun Strowman
Tyson Fury is an undefeated Heavyweight Boxer who is currently the Lineal Heavyweight Champion of the World. He was with his family at ringside for the big SmackDown on FOX premiere and Braun Strowman decided to showboat in front of him a little. At first, it just seemed like a friendly exchange, but it soon turned into a clash of egos after Fury was sent back. Strowman picked up the victory for his team decisively, but the Boxing Heavyweight Champion decided to jump the barricade and try to get to The Monster Among Men. Luckily, the security restrained him (actually doing their jobs for once) and Fury had to be taken to the back. Fury responded on social media, revealing that he had been invited to Monday Night RAW and will be given an open mic. He warned Strowman to show up and "get these hands" before his children chanted "dosser" at Strowman. Tyson Fury stands tall at a whopping 6'9, so it's going to be interesting to see what happens when the two Heavyweights collide

>The Man reigns supreme
Becky Lynch has been RAW Women's Champion for half a year now. As if that weren't impressive enough, she just secured the most defining victory of her championship reign as she defeated Sasha Banks inside Hell in a Cell. Many argued that it should have been the main event and after the finish of the show, we can't disagree. Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks have great chemistry as it is, but it was clear that both women took it to a whole new level on the night. For some, Sasha Banks was the standout performer on the show and even out-performed Becky Lynch, albeit coming off short due to her tapping out at the end. But the match was nothing short of war and if anything, this win has truly legitimized Becky Lynch as RAW Women's Champion. Lynch has been the face of the Women's division for a while now and will continue taking that mantle as long as she can run with it. Having cleared out the best woman on the roster, who is next for The Man?

>Natalya vs Lacey Evans concludes with a Last Woman Standing match
The big rivalry is all set to conclude tonight on RAW. So far, Evans has been getting the upper hand with victories over Natalya, but in a last-minute match at Hell in a Cell in the pre-show, Natalya managed to make Evans tap. Not only that, but she gave her a taste of her own medicine as she hit the former Marine Corps with a Women's Right of her own. While she had the last laugh at Hell in a Cell 2019, we're going to see who will stand tall in the conclusion of the rivalry. It's a good time to have this match since the draft is coming and the two women will likely be separated by brands.

When you translate most Japanese "swears" into English they're not even close to bad. To Japanese they're considered rude and but you'd have to force a parallel between English swears and Japanese word that are considered offensive or inappropriate at best.
Telling someone to die in Japanese is considered vulgar. Saying "Move" in a rude way is considered "vulgar".
Saying "guy" makes you a delinquent because it's improper Japanese and only no-good-niks use improper Japanese.
So to Japanese ears they were going hard but if you do a literal translation it's not so bad.
