Welcome to this years puro thread! Continuing from last thread >>6428764

>NJPW Strong airs weekly on Saturdays or Sundays following a live event or following At the /wooo/vies in WrestleTube - https://baked.live/tv/wrestling.
>NJPW Xtra airs weekly on Mondays at 11pm EDT / 4am BST in WrestleTube - https://baked.live/tv/wrestling.
>NJPW on AXS TV airs weekly on Thursdays at 10pm EDT / 3am BST in WrestleTube - https://baked.live/tv/wrestling.
>Puro Tube is on Tuesdays at 3pm EDT / 8pm BST in Puro Tube - https://baked.live/tv/puro and shows promotions outside of Dragon Gate and NJPW. Join in as everyone argues why their favorite fed is superior and Yanopost, Anopost, CIMApost and dance like Keita until your tummy is full from all that snackpine.
>In addition to WrestleTube, we also show live events in Puro Tube, NJPW Tube - https://baked.live/tv/njpw, NOAH Tube - https://baked.live/tv/noah, DG Tube - https://baked.live/tv/dg, DDT Tube - https://baked.live/tv/ddt, and AJPW Tube - https://baked.live/tv/ajpw.

Outside of Puro Tube, there's usually a few puro marks in the chat that can help fill you in on storylines and find you matches. Just show up outside of big shows like Raw, and you'll find someone in there to help you out. Puro matches also show up in the playlist, so scroll around to find them. NJPW, DG, and DDT live events are regularly streamed in the tubes, check the schedule for details.

NJPW: Oldest and largest promotion in Japan. Owned by Bushiroad and is booked by Gedo. His booking gets the tubes riled up sometimes (all the time), but the match quality generally makes up for it. In the midst of something of a revival, and although you may argue that it is already drawing to a close, they are still doing good business at the moment. They run one of the largest shows in wrestling, called Wrestle Kingdom, every year on January 4th at the fabled Tokyo Dome. Most every show they run, large and small, air in the tubes. They have a slew of foreign wrestlers on their roster right now. They also have a wonderful streaming website over at http://njpwworld.com/

Dragon Gate: Almost certainly the second largest promotion in Japan. Born out of the Toryumon promotion, which was the brainchild of Ultimo Dragon, their style is a mixture of classic puro, cruiserweight/junior heavyweight sprints, and lucha libre. Stable warfare is a huge part of the promotion, with most every wrestler in the company being aligned with a unit in some way. Though it is a big promotion, they retain a grassroots feel, with wrestlers selling merch before and after shows, and running many shows out of community centers and gyms. Most of their large shows air in the tubes, and footage is also posted here. They also have a show that is filmed monthly in their little studio in Kobe called Prime Zone which is wacky, fun, and full of Mondai Ryu schemes. They recently joined the streaming bandwagon over at https://dragongate.live

DDT: Indie promotion gunning for the second-largest-in-Japan spot alongside Dragon Gate. Founded in 1997 by Sanshiro Takagi (a big Stone Cold Steve Austin fan), they have taken the western sports entertainment style to the next level with ridiculous matches and outrageous gimmicks, like violently gay wrestlers, promos done in PowerPoint before matches, championships specifically for dark matches, and blow-up dolls and ladders winning titles. Despite the goofiness, there is tons of talent there, with names like Kota Ibushi, HARASHIMA, and Kenny Omega having been regulars at one point or another. They have released ddtuniverse, which is like NJPW World. A streaming site for all your DDT needs. The other companies that work alongside DDT also have their stuff on there. CyberAgent owned DDT and NOAH have merged under one corporate umbrella CyberFight and they, like NJPW have a great streaming service over at https://www.ddtpro.com/universe

AJPW: Still rebuilding from the glory days of the 80s and 90s, when icons like Jumbo Tsuruta, Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi, Toshiaki Kawada, Stan Hansen, Genichiro Tenryu, and Akira Taue loomed large. They were nearly killed after Misawa formed Pro Wrestling NOAH, taking most of the roster with him, but after a decade and a half of turmoil, they are doing fairly well right now, thanks in no small part due to the efforts of Jun Akiyama. The 80s/90s classics are a must-watch for any new puro f…

That sucks. He didn't wrestle that long but he had plenty of potential.

>Watch NJPW Capital Collision at 7pm EDT / 12am BST in English in WrestleTube - https://baked.live/tv/wrestling and in Japanese in NJPW Tube - https://baked.live/tv/njpw

Saturday, May 14 sees NJPW make its debut in America’s capital of Washington DC, with a stacked card headlined by the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship defended in a four way war. First time singles matches highlight the card, and there’s a special preview of Dominion’s main event to boot.

>Main event: IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Jon Moxley vs Jucie Robinson vs Will Ospreay

A complicated IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship picture will be clarified in our main event, as Hiroshi Tanahashi will defend against Will ospreay, Jon Moxley and Juice Robinson in a four way match. Tanahashi carries the title he freshly won on May 1 in the Fukuoka PayPay Dome, defeating Tomohiro Ishii, but that wasn’t the match originally on the cards. Tanahashi was contracted to face Will Ospreay, but a positive COVID test rendered the Commonwealth Kingpin unable to fly to Japan, and Ospreay demanded that he get next. Yet Ospreay also had unsettled business with Jon Moxley. A controversial call saw Moxley’s hand raised after the Windy City Riot main event, even though Ospreay had visibly kicked out of the Death Rider. Ospreay wanted his rematch with Moxley, and Moxley wanted closure with Ospreay, while making good on his challenge to Tanahashi and securing a match he has been campaigning for ever since his first steps in a NJPW ring. Further complicating the scenario was Juice Robinson, who attacked Tanahashi from behind in Fukuoka and revealed himself to be the newest member of BULLET CLUB. No longer caring for the fans, Juice has declared himself ‘laser focused on making as much money as possible’, and the US gold is the quickest path to riches for Juice. Who emerges from Washington DC with the gold?

>7th Match: BULLET CLUB (Jay White & Hikuleo) vs CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada & Trent Beretta)

Washington DC will see a tag team preview of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship match at Dominion on June 12 when Kazuchika Okada and Trent Beretta face Jay White and Hikuleo. After Okada defeated Tetsuya Naito to log his fourth defence of the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Dontaku, Jay White returned to Japan for the first time in a year to strike the Rainmaker with a pair of Bladerunners. The title match was soon signed for Osaka Jo Hall, with this tag preview made for DC. Jay White and Hikuleo have been somewhat at odds ever since Hikuleo stepped up in Jay White’s U-S-of-Jay Open Challenge. Seeking answers after brothers Tama Tonga and Tanga loa were kicked out of BULLET CLUB, Hikuleo will face White next week on NJPW STRONG. Yet the ‘catalyst of professional wrestling’ will insist that the competition will only make BULLET CLUB stronger, and this duo more formidable as a result. In the CHAOS corner, Okada will look to Trent Beretta from AEW. Beretta hasn’t stood in an NJPW ring since February 2019, but never left CHAOS, and has represented the group along with the Best Friends stable in AEW. Can he ensure there won’t be any ring rust with Okada as a partner in DC, and will it be Okada or Jay making the bigger statement before Dominion?

>6th Match: Eddie Kingston vs Tomohiro Ishii

Eddie Kingston will face Tomohiro Ishii in what will be a hard hitting first time singles bout in Washington. Coming off the back of a hard fought win over Minoru Suzuki, Ishii would soon be confronted by Kingston in Chicago on April 16. The ‘Mad King’ would give Ishii his props for representing Strong Style in NJPW, but declared that he was devoted to the rival King’s Road mentality. Both ‘old souls’ that have a lot of respect for wrestling tradition and history to go with their considerable experience, Kingston and Ishii will throw all they have at one another at Capital Collision; who, if anyone, will walk away from this clash?

>5th Match: Minoru Suzuki vs Brody King

Another first time matchup with violence guaranteed sees Brody King take on Minoru Suzuki. King walked into the lion’s den at Windy City Riot when he confronted a defeated Suzuki backstage and asked for a match in DC; a challenge that was met with a very forceful ‘who the hell are you? I’ll kill you!’ from *The* King. A brutal clash is guaranteed, but who emerges with their hand raised?

>4th Match: United Empire (Jeff Cobb, Aaron Henare, Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) vs TMDK (JONAH, Shane Haste, Mikey Nicholls & Bad Dude Tito)

Eight man tag team action will see Mikey Nicholls back in an NJPW ring for the first time in 2019, as he joins a powered up TMDK side against the United Empire. Nicholls was last in NJPW as a part of CHAOS, but his loyalty to tag team partner Shane Haste and NOAH stablemate JONAH will see him blend into TMDK on STRONG, and doubtless in Japan as well in months to come. Add in the revelation that Bad Dude Tito has been in 2022 so far, and the TMDK side make formidable opposition to Jeff Cobb, Aaron Henare, and countrymen Aussie Open. While NJPW fans have long been aware of how awe inspiring Henare and Cobb are, eyes were opened wide to Davis and Fletcher back at Windy City Riot. Aussie Open on a full United Empire side facing a full power TMDK seems impossible to call on paper, and will make for unmissable action.

>3rd Match: Great-O-Khan vs Chase Owens

Fallout from Dontaku and a preview of Dominion sees Great-O-Khan in singles action against Chase Owens. Owens heads into Capital Collision one half of the newly crowned IWGP Tag team Champions, he and Bad Luck Fale claiming the gold after emerging from a Tongan Tornado three way bout having defeated Hirooki Goto of Bishamon. That meant now deposed champions O-Khan and Jeff Cobb were not involved in the decision, and immediately demanded a direct rematch with the new chqamps. That happens at Dominion on June 12, and in the meantime, O-Khan and Owens square off in singles action. This singles preview could well set the pace for both the teams before they meet in Osaka Jo Hall, what will happen on May 14?

>2nd Match: Fred Rosser, David Finlay, Tanga Loa, Yuya Uemura & Rocky Romero vs Team Filthy (Tom Lawlor, Danny Limelight, JR Kratos, Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs)

Anyways I had a fun time at the show and the crowd was really hot, more so than the Dynamite and Rampage tapings I went to in January, though I'm not sure how well it came off on the broadcast. Just being able to see guys like Tanahashi, Okada, Suzuki, and Ishii was a real treat. Kingston-Ishii was by far the MOTN though I did also like the 6 man tag, King-Suzuki and the Bullet Club-CHAOS tag. The main event was chaotic but it was a lot of fun though I felt like the finish with Juice winning with Ospreay's foot under the rope deflated the crowd that was probably expecting Tanahashi to retain, Moxley to regain or Ospreay to win the title. I guess they wanted to end it right around 3 hours though.

This is some wild cope.

She worked the tournament and then went to Japan, but couldn't get back in time so AEW bumped her off the tournament and then made up story about her getting injured without telling her.

She's rightfully pissed off at them/Khan for not planning things properly and not communicating (a running theme in LOLAEW)

Back in my day, men looked like men. Look at these two absolute monsters. Behemoths. You wouldn't wanna pick a fight with them. If you saw them in an airport, they'd turn heads for sure.

Why can't today's wrestlers be this masculine?
