Hey /wooo/. It's Canada Day, and also my birthday. I've been on this board since WM 25, and it's helped me explore a hobby I really like. Big ups to DGKRU.

Can we have a thread with all the Canadians that make wrestling great? That'd be appreciated.

Be kind to yourselves.

>A billionaire starts a new North American wrestling promotion that has a prime time slot on TNT and whose roster includes Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Dean Ambrose
Not too far fetched. Money marks have existed forever. Omega wasn't a huge deal yet, but fairly well known for his work on the indies/DDT, so would be a good signing. Throwing money at two big WWE stars to get them to jump ship seems like a logical move. Dean was already spinning his wheels post Shield Breakup. Jericho was well into his shill phase though, so I'd expect him to have to had a falling out with Vince to jump.
>Becky Lynch becomes the top star in WWE and main event's WrestleMania
Logical given that Women's wrestling was already being treated seriously by this point. Becky was probably the best female worker in the company besides Asuka and I can't see Vince pushing a chubby asian girl, so it makes sense.
>AJ Styles becomes a multiple time WWE Champion
Yeah, he had his run with NJPW and was red hot. He's a loyal company guy who has a good look and sells merch. Vince'll love him despite not being 6'5 and roided to the gills.
>Roman Reigns falls ill with and then recovers from leukemia
Pretty far fetched. Is Big Dog okay?
>Daniel Bryan comes out of retirement
Seemed like it'd happen eventually
>TNA is still in business
Yeah, I'd call bullshit
>Shinsuke Nakamura joins WWE and becomes a mid card jobber
Makes total sense
>Raw falls below 2 million viewers
Seems about right given how shit Raw is and the general declining popularity of broadcast TV.
>Ronda Rousey signs with WWE
Makes sense. She jobbed hard in UFC and WWE had been eyeing her for some time.
>British wrestling gets cancelled over multiple sexual abuse allegations
Ok what? I just gonna assume Will Osprey and ZSJ are pedos.
>Edge comes out of retirement
Bullshit.
>A global pandemic means wrestling runs empty arenas for months
Ok, now your scaring me future man.
>A main event of Raw in 2020 featured Ric Flair (71) screwing over Christian (46) so he can get pinned by Randy Orton (40), furthering an ongoing feud he has with Edge (46)
Well if Edge really is back, this seems like the kinda shit WWE would book.

this shit is keeping me up at night
how the fuck does the ierarchy in the Dark Order work?
why do all the minions costantly wear masks while Reynolds and Silver don't wear them during entrances, but do so during matches? why do 10 and 5 wear them costantly if they're on a bigger power level than Reynolds and Silver? i know it sounds like a question that doesn't make sense, but being able to show your face when the whole idea behind the Dark Order is to give up on your individuality seems like a big deal, yet Reynolds and Silver have done nothing to earn what should be considered such a big privilege. hell, we've seen them anger Brodie at least once. does this mean that showing your face is something shameful?
but then if that was the case, why does Uno wear them all the time while Stu never does, being the only one in this position outside of Brodie himself and being the third most important member of the Order?
like, it's so confusing, what is the meaning behind all these options for wearing masks?

the only controversy i remember is when Hogan tries to slam Andre for the first time and falls backward with Andre on top of him. He barely gets his shoulder up before the ref counts "3"

Bobby Heenan's continued grievance was that it was a 3 count for Andre and that's how they got the rematch.

Jim Cornette Is (ALSO) Getting ME TOO'd

A former OVW Alumni is claiming that Jim Cornette abused his position as booker of OVW to groom young talent and have them sleep with his wife Stacy while he watched. If anyone denied her advances or spoke out, he and his wife would ruin their careers.

>I made a very vague post yesterday about @TheJimCornette

>In the face of current events I feel the need to clarify and speak up.

>During my first year in the business, his wife, Stacy, attempted to groom me.

>She approached via DM, sent me lewd photos I never asked for, implied protection from the Kentucky commission (stating he was a family friend), and told me she WAS going to fuck me, as if I didn't have a choice.

>My experience with them is tame compared to others, though

>When Jim was booking at OVW, if you wanted a contract or on his show, you HAD to perform sexual acts on his wife, many times with him watching. This has happened for many, MANY people.

>A close friend of mine was groomed and basically brainwashed by them for YEARS. When he finally escaped, Stacy went to great lengths to not only terrorize him, but to actively try to have other wrestlers physically assault him.

>I was one of them. She sent me pictures show tires of his he's slashed, and bragging about setting him up to lose his job, his apartment, even his car.

>All because he escaped an extremely toxic relationship and didn't want anything to do with them

>Stacy bragged about being able to call the Kentucky commission to give him "targets". He was a family friend, and if she wanted, she could turn his attention to anyone licensed in the state to potentially hurt, and sometimes even ruin their careers

>When he says "cult of cornette", it's because he has a history of taking advantage of greenhorns using his power and position as booker for OVW in order to fufill his and his wife's sexual desires

>They used their place of power to hurt many, many people.

>No one wants to speak up because of his position in wrestling, but this is EXTREMELY common knowledge among OVW alumni.

>This will probably ruin a lot of opportunities in wrestling, and that's fine, but make no mistake: Jim Cornette is trash. He and his wife have made power plays in order to hurt many, many people.

Dave & Corny were good friends for decades, and had a big public falling out a few months ago that was apparently a long time coming.
Long story short, Cornette sees himself as a martyr who must put his 'values' re: wrestling above any & all personal attachments. He couldn't live with the double-think of openly liking & respecting Dave whilst simultaneously insisting that anyone who praises modern wresting is a braindead fake-fan blight on the industry, so chose to stop liking & respecting Dave rather than compromise his own views.
To be fair, Dave had been taking cheeky little jabs at Corny on the Observer for years, which he claims to have never back-sassed due to their friendship. Regardless, Corny saw it as unnecessary, unprovoked, irrelevant pettiness that his 'friend' was publicly broadcasting just to saltily discredit someone for not liking what he liked.
Neither did it to "placate their audience". By it's very nature, the Cult will go along with whatever the fuck Corny tells them. Disowning Dave was entirely his own personal decision. And he sees himself as the 'bigger man' who didn't start the issue & tried to look the other way until he just couldn't take anymore.

Stories about Cornette or from Cornette? Cuz you evidently haven't heard the one where he acknowledges having-since learnt about the crutches/award part.
Of course, the clip he acknowledged this in was a rant on why he hates Kenny's guts NOW. By the time someone filled him in on the crutches detail he'd already seen the "blow-up doll & japanese school girl" clips so reviled Kenny on an altogether deeper existential level anyway. (nb)

I remember someone made a best of terry funk collection maybe like 5 years ago, and it was at least 20 DVDs but I wouldn't be surprised if it was 40.

Starting with silent footage from Amarillo cause they were shooting it on film and the audio recordings either never happened or didn't survive. Ending with I think his match with Edge and Foley. And then filled with everything from barbwire matches with Sabu to old school tag team matches with Dory in Japan.

Not taking away from them, but anyone you would put in your top ten found what they were good at, what slot they could fill, and mastered.

Funk did just about everything, anywhere they would let him. They'll never be another career like that.

Is anyone still doing this? years ago we used to have a thread for DDP Yoga where people shared their experiences etc. I did it for about a year but eventually gave up, although I would still bust out a Diamond Cutter stretch every now and then.

Anyway, I'm thinking about starting up again. Did the Diamond Dozen today and feel pretty good. What does everyone else think about it? Have you done DDP Yoga? Did it work for you?

That's the part where I get kinda depressed because I'm literally incapable of holding that position. The rest is mostly ok (though it beats my ass even if it's such a short workout), but my body just does not compute that part.

I'm kinda annoyed when at the end of a workout when you're done with the cannonball/bridge stretching, he goes "take a couple of deep breaths" and then moves on literally a second later. Let me fucking take at least half of one of those breaths, DDP. I think it's either Fat Burner or Energy

Fuck me I havent done a core workout in a long time.

If you come to a wall like that i would do Schooln twists (which is kind of what he works into that baby pose). If that is still to much just do planks for 30 second intervals, and ~25 sit ups.

Which is where i feel the dynamic resistance aspect is fine, if you know how to engage properly. If not there medicine balls you can literally grip and hold in front of you. Or add to rhe core workout if you cant get to certain positions.
