he has a very subtle way to book things which works on the lung run but sadly there's not that much buzz around the nwa now that aew is getting so over doing basically the opposite
not that i dislike (most of) aew's booking, a thing can be good for many different reasons, but i still feel like aldis is a really underlooked champion

I don't know shit about modern NWA, is it still an organization made out of multiple promotions or is it just it's own single promotion now is it even related to the old NWA or are they just using the same name for branding purposes?

Seth Rollins is probably my least favourite wrestler, and that was before all this Twitter shit. I know wrestling is choreographed but this guy takes it to a new level, he should have been a ballet dancer instead. Also that fact that he has absolutely been GOTTEN TO, and is in panic meltdown mode at the moment. He also tried it on with Peyton Royce but that’s another story

Seth is a far better worker then Roman. The only reason things are worse now is because WWE has only been getting worse and it doesn't matter who holds the title anymore.

> It was not unexpected that All Elite Wrestling would sell out its next major event, All Out, on 8/31 at the Sears Center in suburban Chicago, or even that it would do so instantly. But what happened was still stunning. With only two matches announced, a Chris Jericho vs. Hangman Page match to determine the first AEW champion and the strategically announced Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley match released the day before tickets would go on sale with the hope of sparking a ticket rush, the 10,400 seat building sold out in 15 minutes, the length of time it took to process that number of tickets. That was neither surprising, nor the story.

> The story was, according to professionals in the ticket industry, was that the show had the most activity when tickets first went on sale of any ticket to a pro wrestling event in history by a wide margin. This was known before the tickets went on sale because those who signed up before the on-sale were given a number. The numbers were astronomical. At the time sales were called off and the it was shut down, the number in line of individual orders waiting to be served was at least 72,500. There are reports of numbers as high as 75,000 people in line to order, the highest number we’ve been able to confirm was 72,500 and based on stats provided by ticket people who had the ability to monitor this, they had it at 73,500.

> There are a lot of factors involved with this. The key factor is that unlike a WrestleMania, in a stadium, there wouldn’t necessary be this level of rush. There have been WrestleManias in the past in arenas that reported one minute sellouts (notably the last time they ran WrestleMania in Los Angeles), but those, like the four minute sellout that AEW reported for Double or Nothing, are misleading. In both case, they put tickets on sale in a pre-sale the day before. They held very few tickets back for the public sale, and of course, those tickets went instantly. But also, unlike a WrestleMania, the show sold out with a four ticket minimum per order and little scalper activity. At press time there were 827 ticket on the secondary market with the cheapest price for a $30 ticket going for $133. For a normal event in that size of a building, the normal figure would be 2,000 and for a big event it would considerably above that.

> The ticket industry was stunned. Based on an event with super high demand that sells out instantly, the number of people waiting for orders as a general rule will break down into 75 percent different individuals and 25 percent of the numbers are bots, scalpers, and assorted other ways to have a number that is actinically inflated with multiple browsers. One outlet monitoring it said that the figure for this show was well below usual in that regard, due to the lower level of ticket broker interest, which the lack of secondary market tickets also confirms. The number reported was 62,500 of “organic individual fans” and the percentage of inflated numbers was much lower than for major WWE, Hamilton, UFC or concert like events.

> The ticket on-sale page wasn’t on any of the major ticket broker channels or chatter even with the Double or Nothing sellout, because wrestling isn’t monitored closely and AEW is an unknown and unproven product. The only people who were aware of the ticket demand going in were hardcore fans. The few who were aware from All In, which was a huge success, may have been turned off by the soft secondary market for Double or Nothing in Las Vegas. But the problem with Double or Nothing, which had a huge first-day demand, is that plane tickets and hotels were jacked up big-ti…

Are they the best indie in the country? The biggest? The coolest?

Who are your favorites? What upcoming matches/shows are you hyped about?

I can't think of the last time an indie was on this kind of streak. Not even PWG puts out this much good shit in a year's time.

Drunk post time: I may be biased because I see/hang with Crane a bunch since I live in Chicago, but GCW has been my favorite indy of the past few years. Its got all the fun and hype of earlier CZW with the match quality to back it up. Plus their Mania week shows have been shows of the year the past few years between Spring Break, Bloodsport, and the Cassidy show this year. Theyre really the only company I have the want to keep up with anymore and I hope they continue to grow without dipping in quality and take over the indies in the next few years.

>We went a whole year without a new thread. RIP Hiromu thread

>Puro Tube is on Tuesdays at 3pm EST / 8pm GMT in /wooo/tube -http://taima.tv/r/woooand mainly shows promotions outside of Dragon Gate and NJPW. Join in as everyone argues why their favorite fed is superior and Yanopost, Anopost, CIMApost and dance like Keita until your tummy is full from all that snackpine.
>DG Tube is on Thursdays at 8pm EST / 1am GMT in Mondai Night Ryu -http://taima.tv/r/mondainightryuand features the latest and classic Dragon Gate shows. Other stuff is featured here from time to time as well. (like cheesy 80s films or the mega marathon before Kobe World and recently OWE)
>NJPW on AXS TV is also on Thursdays at 8pm EST / 1am GMT (7pm EST / 12am GMT if there are two episodes) in /wooo/tube showing recent matches on tape delay with English commentary by Jim Ross and Josh Barnett. Replays air on Fridays at 1:20pm EST / 5:45pm GMT (12:20am EST / 4:50pm GMT if there are two episodes) in /wooo/tube.

Outside of Puro Tube, there's usually a few puro marks in the chat that can help fill you in on storylines and find you matches. Just show up outside of big shows like Raw, and you'll find someone in there to help you out. Puro matches also show up in the playlist, so scroll around to find them. NJPW, DG, and DDT live events are regularly streamed in the tubes, check the schedule for details.

NJPW: Oldest and largest promotion in Japan. Owned by Bushiroad and is booked by Gedo. His booking gets the tubes riled up sometimes (all the time), but the match quality generally makes up for it. In the midst of something of a revival, and although you may argue that it is already drawing to a close, they are still doing good business at the moment. They run one of the largest shows in wrestling, called Wrestle Kingdom, every year on January 4th at the fabled Tokyo Dome. Most every show they run, large and small, air in the tubes. They have a slew of foreign wrestlers on their roster right now. They also have a wonderful streaming website over athttp://njpwworld.com/

Dragon Gate: Almost certainly the second largest promotion in Japan. Born out of the Toryumon promotion, which was the brainchild of Ultimo Dragon, their style is a mixture of classic puro, cruiserweight/junior heavyweight sprints, and lucha libre. Stable warfare is a huge part of the promotion, with most every wrestler in the company being aligned with a unit in some way. Though it is a big promotion, they retain a grassroots feel, with wrestlers selling merch before and after shows, and running many shows out of community centers and gyms. Most of their large shows air in the tubes, and footage is also posted here. They also have a show that is filmed monthly in their little studio in Kobe called Prime Zone which is wacky, fun, and full of Mondai Ryu schemes. They recently joined the streaming bandwagon over athttps://dragongate.live

DDT: Indie promotion gunning for the second-largest-in-Japan spot alongside Dragon Gate. Founded in 1997 by Sanshiro Takagi (a big Stone Cold Steve Austin fan), they have taken the western sports entertainment style to the next level with ridiculous matches and outrageous gimmicks, like violently gay wrestlers, promos done in PowerPoint before matches, championships specifically for dark matches, and blow-up dolls and ladders winning titles. Despite the goofiness, there is tons of talent there, with names like Kota Ibushi, HARASHIMA, and Kenny Omega having been regulars at one point or another. They have released ddtuniverse, which is like NJPW World. A streaming site for all your DDT needs. The other companies that work alongside DDT also have their stuff on there. They, like NJPW have a great streaming service over athttp://ddtuniverse.com/

AJPW: Still rebuilding from the glory days of the 80s and 90s, when icons like Jumbo Tsuruta, Mitsuharu Misawa, Kenta Kobashi, Toshiaki Kawada, Stan Hansen, Genichiro Tenryu, and Akira Taue loomed large. They were nearly killed after Misawa formed Pro Wrestling NOAH, taking most of the roster with him, but after a decade and a half of turmoil, they are doing fairly well right now, thanks in no small part due to the efforts of Jun Akiyama. The 80s/90s classics are a must-watch for any new puro fan, and their current product ain't bad either. They also joined the streaming sensation sweeping Japan right now. Their website can …
