Honestly, this might be one of the best matches in Goldberg's entire career. I don't know if that is sad or not. But he did put his effort into this match and actually took some bumps. I have to give him credit for that and this match. It certainly wasn't a total disappointment like his match against Brock at WrestleMania 20. Why do I find this sad?

It's sad because WWE dragged him out of retirement so it could pop a payday.

Cause its the last time two legit superstar pro wrestlers had the biggest spectacle on the biggest pro wrestling show in the USA

Goldberg was never a solid in-ring performer. It was a good thing he had the gimmicks and that undefeated streak to put him over. Watching any Goldberg matches feels like cheering on a retard for doing something correctly.

Didn't Bill also say he agreed to it because he felt like he owed the fans it from that shitty match at WM20?

That match was completely choreographed to the step, and somehow they completely pulled it off from start to finish. That shot after Lesnar hits the F-5 and is celebrating, only for Goldberg to jump back up and spear him in the side, was spectacular.

My mistake, it was the triple Germans, not the F-5.

The saddest part of that match is I think it was the first time Goldberg understood why wrestlers love doing what they do. And now with the Saudi show he's right back to being miserable.

This match was a masterpiece and I'm sad that it didn't usher in a trend of MMA-style 5 minute sprints.

Did anyone honestly want to see Goldberg win even though you knew Brock was suppose to win the match since that was how it was built up? I did.

My boi Oney Lorcan would be work champ a hundred times over.

A (10 minute) sprint is exactly what Okada needed in his previous title reign. Let's see if we get any in this one.

This. Wrestling could use more short and sweet matches instead of played out matches we've seen dozens of times this year already.

Booking isn't good enough for this to happen. Fans come in expecting the main event to be 30+ minutes with a kickout fest at the end because that's all there is to feuds nowadays. Hashimoto/Takada probably the greatest NJPW match ever and it went less than 15 minutes, but was molten lava hot because of the build and the backstory.

The only person who managed to bring true feeling to wrestling recently was Shibata.

Five star take on the sad state of wrestling. I still miss Shibata.

IIRC Tanahashi did try and do something about the kickout abuse by changing up his matches (like having only one pinfall attempt, the winning one) but Omega and Okada just went 'lolno' and made it 10x worse with their dance routines.

Doesn't help that tastemakers like Meltzer and internet fans inflate their ego to ridiculous levels by saying how good they are. It's fast food wrestling, easy to consume and gives you a short rush, but no real nutrition to speak of.

Why only one pinfall? There should still be two or three more spread out throughout the match since you're still suppose to make it look like you're trying to win.

he was very much solid. just because wasn't a Malenko, Eddie or Benoit doesn't mean he was bad.
