What are some legitimate reasons he isn't going to the G1 finals? It seems like most of their fanbase in US and Japan want to see Naito win the heavyweight title at WK more than how over Kota is. I always keep an open mind with New Japan booking but this time I'm really left scratching my head.

New Japan sees Naito as the guy to put over the guys they want to push. He will never get the title again.

Makabe used to be as over in the yukes era and only won the title once.

Why do you think it seems this way?

>This was the last straw! NJPW is going to pay for this big time! Surely the Japanese fans are irate! I heard that they're going to boycott NJPW and watch AEW instead! They won't stand for it! Japanese fans are complaining on social media right now, I swear! NJPW is really going to suffer for not pushing Naito hard enough!

I for one I'm glad that we don't see double suicide that's is naito vs ibushi. But as for why not go whit naito all the way? No idea. This is probably last chance to go whit him, his body wont hold together unless he takes year long break. But if gedo was going to put him over, he would have done it two years ago when dude was white hot, unlike that no draw omega.

Don't worry. Like with Naito jobbing at WK 12, this is obviously part of some masterplan by Gedo to give Naito his moment in the near future. Surely, he wouldn't just stick his most over guy in the Nakamura position with 0 change?

Because he's the new Nakamura. The guy to headline the B shows, and a consistent semi-main event slot at the Tokyo Dome.

Maybe he's a bitch and Gedo doesn't want to reward him for cunty activity? Who knows. I wanted to see him win it also.

It had more to do with establishing Ibushi than burying Naito. We already got Naito/Ibushi several times this year. Ibushi going over the company's top heel in the G1 final and completing his ascendancy to ACE makes more sense than telling people this guy they've already decided is good is, well, good.

Still want Naito to split off and start WAR 2.0 though

Ishii should have won the G1 and the fact that he will never win a G1 let alone win the IWGP title makes me sad.

So apparently, Ibushi wants to win the IWGP title on night 1 & challenge for the IC belt on night 2.

I guess Naito main-eventing night 2 of the Dome shows against Ibushi makes for a nice consolation prize

WHAT IF
night 1 is Kota vs Ibushi for IWGP & Naito vs Jay for IC

night 2 is IWGP champ vs IC champ - title for title?

>Ibushi just walks in and does it, all casual like
This would hurt Naito more than any head drop.

you joke but people would still pay to watch kota alone in the ring just flipping and landing on his head over and over as a form of interpretive dance. some would say that is the purest expression of the Ibushi Pro Wrestling Research Institute

so either Ibushi gets chumped out 1 day into his reign or Naito gets yet another burial. Or possibly even a heel turn nobody wants.

jk OKADA WINS LOL

I guess since Ibushi had finally signed his NJPW contract this year and he had already lost last year's final. I mean in storyline it would have made way more sense to give Naito the win but Gedo is probably deferring Naito winning G1 again and finally getting his WK win against Okada.

>>6283507
Ishii is basically in the "good hand" position for NJPW.

Naiturd has had more that Ishii has had. Being a Stone Pitbull fan is true pain, because he is better than the rest but will never get a run with the Hebby Q.

Ishii is my favourite wrestler in the company. Naito had a perfect moment last year to get a run and would've had another defense against Ishii because he's not a bitch like Okada while any title challenge anytime works for Ishii.

Gedo will not divide us!

The G1 Climax winner is about 6 years older than Okada.
