I am pretty sure Ospreay will beat Okada, but it's strange that Cobb beat Ospreay before that. White will beat Ishii to win the block whether Ibushi defeats Taichi or not.

I think KENTA will beat Naito just to make the main event important, and as much as I don't really care for either option, you have to assume SANADA is defeating EVIL.

>White/EVIL is good story but too soon, unless they are rushing something.
>White/SANADA is good face/heel, but I will probably skip the rest of the year if SANADA wins

Any other wildcard pick, like Ospreay/SANADA is a horrid thought, but at least that would be better than another Okada/SANADA match

EVIL v Jay feud
Taichi talking back to MiSu and beating him
Now this Ospreay turn

Current Factions have been stale af for a while (except LIJ, they’re the only cool ones)

Who should Ospreay steal from CHAOS to complete his "Fuck Okada" stable? Goto needs to jump ship so he can actually do stuff again instead of being Okada's bitch boy, and Yoshi-Hashi desperately needs a change of scenery if he wants to be anything other than Yoshi-Hashi.

im kind of assuming they're gonna make shota umino come back from excursion early (it's not like he's been doing much in britain) and join the group: it would give them some jr heavyweight representation, immediately makes them the faction of new ex-young lion shitheads (think No Limit) and gives them a built-in feud if/when mox returns to new japan

Sanada gets his hands on EVIL for the first time in singles competition since the split

The man he rode with for years, his partner, his teammate - the man who turned his back on them all and caused pain and turmoil.

And he doesn't rush him down to beat the shit out of him.

The match was heatless. The crowd wanted SANADA to beat EVIL for everything he's done because they care, not because SANADA cared. This is why he's the biggest waste of potential in the entire company.

Fuck him. Ibushi/Naito must happen now at Kingdom to save us all.

Its part of his gimmick that he doesnt care and is too cool for shit anon, did you really just expect him to break character like that like some hothead young lion?
Otherwise would be pretty awesome if mah boi Wato gets picked for Ospreays "Fuck Okada" stable along with Oka, would get him so badly needed exposure.

yes, i expect the guy who was just betrayed by someone we're supposed to believe was like a brother to him to show some emotion the moment he finally gets to face him
but that would require SANADA to be able to imitate emotions

I never really caught this brotherly relationship between Evil and Sanada tbh, always came across to me more like a tag team for the practical reason to have two over guys hold titles without having LIJ infighting with Naito.
For that reason it makes sense that they split Evil and have Sanada not be too caught up in the post betrayal stuff. LIJ is really Naito´s thing so if you want to make these two into main eventers and eventual stars they cant be just defined by being in that faction too much.

However you are right in the way that the whole thing wasnt handled very smoothly and the whole situation is more than a bit awkward, mostly owes to the fact that they had to move so quickly due to the coronavirus .

I rambled yesterday about this

SANADA is heatless. He has raw potential but when you're "too cool to care", the emotion of the match is how invested people are in you. If things slow, there's noting there.

The tournament peaked when we got Ibushi/Taichi and White/Ishii back to back. Either of those matches would have been the ideal finish to the tournament.

It fuckin sucks even more when you watch the last sequence because that's when I actually gave a damn about Sanada. Those roll ups being last desperate attempts after failing to put Ibushi away actually made me think he cared and that O'Connor roll near fall was fucking impeible. But then it was just the typical boring njpw ending of hitting a finish, kickout to make the loser not look too weak, and then second finish to win.

Honestly I also put some blame on Ibushi cause he felt really off as well.

The last 10 minutes was actually really good. Sanada has the exact same problem that modern KENTA has where they can have some killer match closers, but the first third is always garbage. It doesn't help that Sanada has a very boring formula to his matches (initial stages -> do a few submissions -> spam the shit out of the skull end -> try for the moonsault twice then if it doesn't work out just roll them up), though this is a problem for a bunch of guys in New Japan right now and their only solution seems to be to give everyone one new move every 9 months.
